if you’re wondering why spellcheck and grammar check is worse now, it’s because they replaced it with AI! 🥰
now, instead of maintaining a comprehensive, nuanced, and human-maintained encyclopedia by which to check your document, they have switched to an AI that just compares what you’ve written to what other people write in, say, Google Docs, and use the most commonly used iteration.
ever have it change something like “all intents and purposes” to “all intensive purposes” or “should’ve” to “should of”? that’s why!
people make the same spelling and grammar mistakes so often, AI thinks that’s the way you say it because it is a PATTERN DETECTOR and cannot THINK let alone use language.

First fifteen seconds of my Drunk On Pride Charles edit!!! It's not finished yet, but I'm really proud of how it's turning out so I wanted to share it here too as well as the server I'm in! ^^
people are confused “unsolicited criticism in fanfics is rude” with “fanfics are above criticism.” no one says fanfics are above criticism. what we’re saying is that, unless an author specifically asks for feedback and criticism, unsolicited criticism is rude, because unlike anything else that you pay to consume and therefore can rightfully be criticized, fanfics are free and they are someone’s hobby. authors are kind enough to share what they write as their hobbies with you for free. you don’t have to like these fics. you can click away from a fic you don’t like at any point you want. but—again, unless specifically and directly asked by an author—it’s rude to tell someone, who is kind enough to allow you free access to their house, their art, that their fics should have been xyz.
so no, fanfics are not above criticism. just like how a gift someone gives you is not above criticism.
but giving fanfics unsolicited criticism is rude. just like how it’s rude to tell someone that you don’t like the gift they gives you for free, out of kindness.

Guys!!! I did it!!! I lead a song during the sea shanty sing a long at dashcon :) i blacked out and couldnt stop shaking after but i was so proud that i got on that stage and tried my best. If anyone else was there, i lead santiana in a fit of nerves im pretty sure everyone saw lol but i would regret it if i didnt try. This whole con proved we can make our own physical spaces to be ourselves, we just have to put ourselves out there (including me)
