Why are they hitting the Melody of Memory pose
Out of Touch
Out of Touch Thursday
OUT OF TOUCH THURSDAY
but im out of my head when you’re not around…
happy birthday.
this is the only out of touch thursday you can reblog this
random question:
what was your first exposure to prev and what made you decide to follow them?
you ever have just like, a really bad idea
anyways if you like bad things here’s a postcard
I was trying to figure out why this post starting spiking recently and then I found out you animals had this queued for Mother’s Day
I was going to make these into button pins months ago and forgot <3
call me terminally academia-brained but i do think a lot of the fun of character analysis is figuring out how to build a compelling argument for a particular reading using lines of evidence from canon as well as meta/intertextual support
and you could say that what i’m saying here is basically “a lot of the fun of doing character analysis is doing character analysis” but let’s be real a lot of fandom character analysis is pretty heavily vibes-based. and i think that’s where i really chafe up against the traditional thought-terminating fandom attitude of like, everyone’s opinions hold equal weight and any interrogation of that is inherently hostile. because i think it’s fascinating to dig into where others are coming from in terms of their views on characters or dynamics or whatever, especially when they differ significantly from more commonly expressed views, and part of that digging is asking people okay what parts of canon are you drawing from to support your opinion? what parts of canon are you disregarding or downplaying? how does this argument hold up in the light of how race, gender, class, ability, etc. operate both in the piece’s in-fiction and real world contexts?
Decided to replay Apollo Justice except every day is played the day it actually happens, which is super fun on paper but it does mean I don’t get to play again for the next two months lmao
c'mon c'mon
must be awkward to live in the kingdom hearts universe and have a name with an X in it. introduce yourself like hey guys what's up my name's alexis :) and everyone kind of sucks their teeth and looks at each other uncomfortably whispering oh umm is she... you know... *mimes stabbing their own heart out*
gender-swaps of Jou always tend to lean really sporty and plain but his hair plus his dedicated coveting of fancy shoes imply to me that he is a guy who actually cares about his appearance and what it communicates a lot while confined to the limits of acceptably masculine behavior. this is a guy who clearly wants to express himself but due to a combination of poverty/abuse/ingrained beliefs does not have any outlet whatsoever to do so, sans sometimes choosing cool monsters he identifies with for his card game deck. i think if we loosened gender's hold on him like ten percent he would sort of go crazy. i think that if Yugi dedicated himself to the task he could convince him to put on eyeliner in like, ten minutes tops
genuinely my first thought every time i see yosuke’s p4d outfit
They forgot what they were arguing about
The idea of “but everyone knows that” needs to stop.
I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.
Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!
But let me tell you a story:
I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.
One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.
At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought “oh ok cool!” And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.
I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. She’s a foodie and a restaurant blogger.
Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.
The shock must’ve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.
And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.
So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.
So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Don’t assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.
By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.

A pair of images of Brian David Gilbert with subtitles of what he is saying. In the first image, he has a guarded expression and is saying “And if you needed me to tell you that..”
In the second image he has a more pleasant expression and is saying “I’m glad I told you that.”

episodes that i think every tv show should have:
timeloop
whodunit
musical
beach trip
random genre change (especially if it's to a noir detective thing)
one where they get randomly meta and fourth wall breaky but then never acknowledge it again
one where something happened but we as the audience don't actually get to see how it happened and only see it through the unreliable narrated flashbacks as recollected by the characters
