I think what’s wild about art improvement isn’t the fact that woahh I can see my anatomy getting better omg so kawaii desu. It’s the difference in time it takes me when sketching or even doodling. Less than six months ago my average sketch took up a good chunk of time in my timelapse, sometimes it took longer than the actual rendering. Now it takes me about 30 minutes, maybe slightly more if my hand has been fucked in the a. a stupid doodle used to take me over an hour, while now it takes me less than 20 minutes.

Watching myself improve over time has always been fascinating to me, especially since I don’t properly sit down to study anatomy since that’s such a chore to me. Looking at my old art (not even particularly old, it can just be from a couple months ago) and being able to nitpick specific things that look somewhat off is so satisfying to me. It shows me that oh yeah I’m actually improving even if I don’t feel like im getting any better sometimes.
