Old Friends are Never Forgotten

Millions of thoughts went through his head as he followed Jacob into the backroom. Looking around the bakery as he was allowed back, “You truly found the magic and creatures you were exposed to as… as good then?” he smiled a little, clutching his case in front of himself with both hands, “I guess I kind of hoping you would remember because I know it would only remove bad memories. I wasn’t sure if they were all fond memories however.”
“Whatever for?” he asked once they were alone, a little ‘ah’ sounding at the mention of the Occamy eggshells, “Nothing to thank for. It was the least I could do after dragging you into that mess in the first place. Besides I would hate for you to waste away your talents at the canning factory.”
“Well yeah, meeting you and your creatures were kind of the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Jacob said. “Well, aside from my bakery. But I wouldn’t have it without you, so… guess that makes you the best thing still. Don’t tell Queenie I said that though.” Jacob chuckled and shook his head. It was impressive how big an impact Newt had on his life.
“Well, they didn’t actually stick. My memories, I mean. Took about half a year to really remember things,” Jacob admitted. “Course, I probably wouldn’t remember much at all if Queenie hadn’t been there to help me. Oh, you did stop by to say hi to the girls right? They wouldn’t be happy if they missed seeing you.”
