“does your brother know you’re here? it isn’t safe for you to be near the sun’s light.” nezuko, the reason for tanjirou’s urge to be stronger. this was the first time she’s met the girl but she recognized her the second she saw the demon huddled in the shadows. the brother gave a rather descriptive explanation ( mostly on how his sister was stunning as a human. she giggled at the thought of his reaction, should one call the girl ugly ). // @bakkejutsu
Nezuko, for all it’s worth, manages to keep still despite the sudden appearance of this girl. She cranes her neck to look to Makomo, blinking owlishly. Does she know Tanjiro? She’s never seen her before, nor does Nezuko remember mention of the stranger’s name. Either way, she doesn’t feel much will to explain.
The sun feels nice and walking in it’s incredible, but the nature of remaining in the dark for two years and some makes it comfortable.
She ends up nodding, gaze turning curious as if asking Makomo to introduce herself.
She doesn’t know what’s happening, but this sure feels like a commotion.

The orders ‘he’ gave, were clear. Kill the Breath of the Sun user and get the demon girl that conquered the sun. Kaigaku has a bit of a personal interest in terms of the latter. Because he heard certain rumors related to his former junior disciple. He wonders if they’re true? How will she react if he’d bring it up? No one said he wasn’t allowed to play a little with her before just capturing her.
“You know, I feel almost sorry for you, having this dirty snot clinging onto you all the time. It is true, isn’t it? That loser Zenitsu proposed to you right in front of the Butterfly Estate? Haha, that’s sooo embarrassing. Even I get second-hand embarrassment over here, and that means something.“
She doesn’t know this person and, frankly, she doesn’t need to. Eyes narrow at the mention of a familiar name and the lack of kindness behind the words when speaking of him. Nezuko curls her fingers, part of her lip drawing back to reveal her canines.
“ Bad... ” she nearly growls, taking note of the wooden sword in his possession. “ Don’t... be m - mean. Zenitsu is... friend! ” With that, Nezuko shifts into a defensive stance in case of an attack, claws at the ready and sights locked upon Kaigaku.
INOSUKE
“ GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAー! ” he’s done it— something no-one had ever done before… at least not to his knowledge, “ LOOK WHAT I CAN DO! I’M PRETTY GREAT, RIGHT?! ” he called down from his perch proudly, much to the concern of the onlookers below.
not that anyone really had the first clue how to argue with a kid laying on his stomach across a denny’s sign 30-something feet off the ground.
That looks really dangerous! Not that Inosuke’s weak or anything if his bragging has any merit, but... well, maybe he ought to get down from there? Nezuko takes matters into her own hands by doing her best to line up with his sight and jump, waving her arms about.
“ B - Boss Imosuke...! Dangeroush... down! ”

“Aren’t you done being a pain in the ass!?” Being pulled around by a younger girl was so embarrassing, specially a younger demon that had been turned later than her – Daki became a demon at thirteen, this child would be technically her elder if not for the centuries that placed them apart. Shaking her off is not working as well, so she allows getting pulled away like a rag doll.
She sits on the ground, pouting and to add at the top of the tantrum – she flung the mutilated hand away, which hit on a wall and slid till hitting the floor. Her meal had been ruined, so now eating was out of question. “What am I supposed to do, huh!? A brat like you can’t get it!! You’re so special and sweet, of course you doooon’t get it.”
This feels familiar, strangely enough.
Nezuko can’t quite put all the pieces together, but there’s the memory of a girl younger than her sitting on a tatami floor, pouting. Arms are folded and she’s saying something that Nezuko doesn’t remember, but she feels someone speak (herself, maybe?) and the child ceases her behavior.
A hand out of view, but a kind one that pats the girl’s head and draws out a smile.
Not that the child in her thoughts seems to have a vulgar mouth or eat people for meals, but perhaps employing a similar technique can help assuage Daki’s attitude.
Sparing the thrown hand a cursory glance, Nezuko releases Daki and proceeds to place her hand on the other’s head and pet it. “ C - Calm... down... ”

Her expression darkened and she gripped her useless sword a little tighter, yet she did not draw it yet. Something was off about this demon and she would find out what it was before getting into a fight so quickly.
“ I suppose it is good manners to introduce oneself first, so I shall start. Kanae Kocho, flower pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps and the one who would slay you. Now then… What is your name, demon? How many humans have you devoured already? “

The butterfly hairclip draws her eye before the hand upon Kanae’s sword does. Nezuko shrinks back nearly, fingers curling and hands moving closer to her chest as a form of defense and surrender. Massive injury is nothing to a deep who can regenerate, but there’s something different about her and she isn’t willing to find out what in this situation.
“ N... Nezuko K - Kamado, ” she gets out, eyes lighting up with how easily her own name comes out. Practicing with Tanjiro has certainly helped her out a bit, hasn’t it? “ Never... ate h - humans! Human a... are family...! ”

he merely stared as the child took on a defensive stance, this one … was the one muzan sought. to think she would be here just as her brother was, how quaint … and yet not a single bone in his body shivered at the sight of this child’s growl, and instead he lets his forearm rest upon his wooden sword at his hip and all six eyes continued to stare. ❛ so … it is you, the demon that has conquered the sun … ❜ it was what she was referred as amongst the rest of the upper moon demons, when this sudden turn of events struck them when they least expected it.
❛ cease your growling, child … i will not fight you here. ❜ he states this simply, his other hand raising an index finger. there is weight to his words and soon enough, he has spoken once more. ❛ if it is your brother you seek, he is here … in this place of unfamiliarity … ❜
Despite his command and the truth of his intentions, Nezuko only feels her muscles tense up further. She growls louder, a sign of defiance towards the enemy telling her what to do, yet she remains in her place.
Even with her show, she backs down at the mention of her brother. Nezuko’s shoulders sink, tension leaving them and the small, rapid breaths return to normal.
There’s plenty she wants to say, but none of the words give rise in her throat. Still, if this demon knows the location of her brother, then...
“ W... Where...? ” she struggles out, shuffling an inch or so closer. “ B - Brother, where? ”

It’s the disgusting brat that burnt her. She had no means to attack like before, with a savage force that could not be matched by mere demon slayers. Squatting on a corner, she continued feeding on the corpse of the vagrant she found. Daki could not escape her nature, surviving implicated this – deep down, she envied this stupid kid.
Nothing felt the same, not after dying. However, what else she could do?
“I’m not in the mood to kill an ugly child tonight. Scram before I regret letting you go.”
She... She’s supposed to be dead, isn’t? Nezuko remembers it clearly enough out of the haze her brain tends to make of many memories, how her brother held her hand and they watched the bickering siblings until they finally faded away.
To see her here is... is...
Attacking her is out of the question, but the least she can do is make an attempt to stop her from further feasting on the corpse. With that in mind, Nezuko scurries over to Daki and grabs the back of her top, trying her hardest with her 14-year-old strength to pull her off her meal.
TANJIRO !!!
it has been a couple of days since he’s gotten here. days without his sister. days of searching on his own. wondering, worrying. as exhausted as he may be, nothing would stop him from remaining hopeful. somehow, he is certain they would find each other at some point.
another fruitless day or searching, the boy was heading home until something– someone caught his attention. out of the corner of his eye, he sees her bundled up under a tree. tanjiro almost can’t believe his eyes that are promptly welling up. with trembling legs, he makes way to his sleeping sister. he falls on his knees.
tanjiro’s relief is short-lived, for his sister is sleeping. despite always waking up of her slumbers, the elder can’t help but fret over whether or not she would open her eyes again. he really can’t be blamed, though. not when nezuko had slept for longer than an year once.
‘ it’s okay, ’ he murmured whilst taking a seat next to her, carefully adjusting nezuko’s head so it’s now resting on his lap. ‘ i’m here now. ’ and there he would remain until she wakes up.
As naps tend to be, Nezuko only wakes up hours into the night time. The moon is bright above with the stars to accompany it, yet the shadow lingering over her...
Bright pink eyes focus finally as slumber disperses, blinking blearily before the realization dawns on her about her shift in position and the one keeping her head warm. Hands immediately shoot upwards, hands cupping Tanjiro’s face with the same gentle, practiced grip she’s had in the past.
“ T... ” she begins, finding it hard to speak past the smile spreading across her face. “ Tan... jiro...! Tanjiro! T - Tanjiro! ”
She’s moved positions within seconds, climbing out of the warm covers to wrap her brother in a hug and rest her head in his arms. To Nezuko, there’s nothing sweeter than being able to embrace your family and feel safe and happy. It’s a luxury with how often they end up in dangerous situations, thus, despite the strangeness of the environment...
If there’s no danger and her brother is here, this place can become home too.
