Deep in your smile I see the world seeing me, I'm free to be free, To be what I be. When my heart's aching and is shallow on love, I gaze to the doves, And I find it above. Let my desires fly along on a wing, Along with my dreams, Alone so it seems. Thoughts from the heart on a pure spring day, My mind floats away, On a dream so they say. --- {Independent ask/rp blog of Kino and Hermes from Kino's Journey} Please read the About and Guidelines before interaction. Thank you!
ahhhh!!! No, this explanation is perfect thank you so much for clearing things up!! After reading this I think I wanna try to play the game again, (I might’ve missed some important things in there since I got the ending where the teacher slips into a coma) ;v;
Again thank you so much for the explanation!!! I hope you don’t mind if I reblog this?
//: I’m glad this was useful in some way! And I don’t mind you reblogging it. Do what you wish :D!! I would definitely recommend replaying to get more details. I’ve played the game several times to get some things I missed, which are pretty useful in putting the pieces of the story together. (The amount of screenshots I have for this game is ridiculous lol;;; ) Oh, and if you do get the chance to replay, it’s always good to talk to White Rabbit after he finishes making a book from each child’s story. He talks more about the world they’re in. Hope you have fun!
You know… it’s been about six months and I still don’t get Alice Mare. What the hell was XXXX? What was with the bunny and cherisher cat? Was the bunny good guy or bad guy? The poem in the beginning of the game said that: “the bunny was the worst of them all” or something like that. Why did all of the orphans become creepy and quiet after you help them go through their memories or whatever the hell you were doin?. Did Teacher died in the end or was he just asleep?
//: This is the wrong blog for me to do this on, but I wouldn’t mind explaining it to the best of my ability. You can read on if you’d like some explanation, but it’s up to you.
XXXX is love. So all you have to do is replace XXXX, with “love”. Teacher has no idea what that is, and assumes he has none of it. Which is why the word is replaced with “X’s” to indicate that the word is rather foreign. Even David’s name means “Recipient of XXXX.” Allen is in the same shoes, and has no understanding of what that word is, either, because of his amnesia.
White Rabbit and Cheshire Cat are still a mystery because of how they got there and what their initial intention was. But the reason expressed to us by Cheshire Cat was that they were there to “dine on children.” Meaning, they are to eat the souls of the children there. The main reason it’s children as food is because children are considered tastier than adults, when in despair. So trapping up the kids was to eat them and make them sad. Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit are both the bad guys. However, Cheshire Cat says White Rabbit is the worst of them all because he has the ability to change people’s fate in either a good way, or bad way. It’s assumed that he will likely choose a bad way to change their fate, instead of a good way. (This is all told in the Cheshire Cat ending.)
The children became creepy and quiet because they are reliving their traumatic pasts. When you first meet White Rabbit, he states that the Alices do not like having people trample over their hearts. Because Allen has entered their hearts, which would be going through the closet, they are in a mixed state of knowing what is real and what is not, as well. So they think of it as a dream.
Miwashiba has stated that Teacher is not dead. He’s basically in a coma. Like stated earlier, Cheshire Cat and White Rabbit can’t eat adults. Which is why Teacher isn’t dead, and also the reason why Teacher gave himself up to begin with.
Hope that helps! Some of it may be incorrect, but I feel certain the answers I’ve given are on target. If you’d like to know more, you can ask.
Reblog this if you don't take dropped threads personally
I’m doing a little test to prove to my friend that most RPers don’t get offended or take it personally if threads get dropped and understand that muses can be fickle or you lose the feel of a thread and that’s okay.
Rules: Knowing your partner well makes writing together a lot easier. Tag this with the people you enjoy roleplaying with but want to get to know better.
I tag: chained-off-memories, magicaldictatoravis, amnesicalice (of course i have to tag you momma), [soft screamign,,, i ran out of people i’m sorry]
BASICS:
name: N/A [Hana]
age: 18
preferred pronouns: I don't mind anything. He/She/They/It. Whatever suits you.
sexuality: Asexual
zodiac sign: Leo (Some say Cancer). Just fyi, I really, really, love astrology so my moon sign is Libra. Moon sign is more likely to connect to how I think than my star/sun sign so if we have similar moon signs, it's likely I will get along better to some people than others.
taken or single: Single but in no rush for a relationship.
three facts:
- I'm currently working on a webcomic (which is why my activity has lowered.)
- I'm picky about watching stuff in general. I enjoy the really dark stuff, depressing/shocking plot twists, and sad endings.
- I’m a night owl. I’m more active at night than the day.
EXPERIENCE:
how long (months/years?): I think almost 2 to 3 years now. I'm actually still pretty new to it since it's been on and off. Once it reaches Summer, this would be my third complete year rping.
platforms you’ve used: My very first time rping would be on iScribble. It was doodle rp with someone who I was very fond of drawing with. We don't draw together anymore, but it would be nice to see it happen again. She was also the very first person I rped with on DeviantART after the entire iscribble thing. Somehow, I made my way on tumblr shortly after and it just went on from there.
So in short = iScribble, DeviantART, oekaki boards, Tumblr
worst experience: [THIS IS PRETTY LONG,,,] I would admit that my first time on Tumblr was not the worst, but out of all the experiences, my Sidney Black rp account was the one that made me... a bit wiser in role-playing.
Because it was my first time interacting with a large amount of people to rp with, I was inexperienced in what to do. I met some people who I don't regret meeting. But then there were... some I didn't enjoy meeting all too much, either.
One rper got mad at me just because I wasn't following them (So... I was kinda forced to follow them...). There was another that kept whining about not getting stuff in their inbox when all they did was sit there and do nothing about it. (Which did tick me off because if you want something, you gotta work for it. Or at least get it somehow.) I kept seeing posts similar to "I lost another follower." And then I had to avoid appearing online at times mostly because someone would point me out saying, "I see you, Hana." And it's??? It was as if they /expected/ me to interact with them every time I was online, when really, I just wanted to chill for a bit and observe.
Since Sidney Black is a character from an Otome game called Diamond no Kuni no Alice (Alice in the Country of Diamonds), most people who came into my inbox thought, "Oh! I'm a stranger! Fall in love with me!" or implied it because the manga was completely vague on explaining why the characters fell in love with the protagonist to begin with.
Some rpers kept pointing out that my character was "cheating" on another character that they were dating, in which, I didn't feel like it was. And they would get kinda mad at me for having the character be in more than one relationship. (Only later after I deleted the account did I learn the term, "multiship" and "singleship".) Ah, there's this one person who has a hardcore ship and if you shipped their character with their "significant other" in the OTP, they would be mad at you. However, if you shipped your character with theirs, they didn't care. (Tbh, it felt like Alice was the only one who got to do multiple ships without a complaint from anyone.)
I kept feeling like I was portraying Sidney incorrectly. Everything I did for him became too sexual and I just didn't want to portray him that way. I wanted to restart, but a person I had rped with at that time disagreed and said that "erasing his memory" wouldn't happen in real life. That was true, but because I was like 15 or so, it affected me to think that roleplaying was /really serious/ when it should just be for fun. It became a chore. I literally became so serious about it, it made me really depressed and socially awkward in my reality. It was too much at that time and I needed a break. Logging out of the tumblr wasn't good enough. I tried several times. So I deleted it. I don't regret deleting it to this day, really. I still keep in touch, once in awhile, with the ones I enjoyed being around, though.
best experience: Hmm... I would say I really enjoyed my second rp blog which was Cheshire Cat from Alice Mare. I met some really cool people and I loved it a lot because no one in the fandom was extremely serious about it. Well, except maybe one person, but I tried to avoid them most the time. One out of the many didn't destroy what it was. I also became knowledgeable with "Rules/About" pages since I participated and thought, "Oh hey. Everything I did in my first rp account was alright. I should have created one of these things a looong time ago." The best part was, I was able to do mostly crack rps. Which I enjoy much more than serious rps.
MUSE PREFERENCES
female or male: Ah, I've noticed I've done mostly male. Kino is actually my first "female" rp account. Kino doesn't consider herself to be womanly, though. He/She... she doesn't quite care. I just go by her scientific term. If someone called her "he" I wouldn't have cared much. (I actually thought she was a guy before it was confirmed she was a girl.)
original or canon: Most have been canon, but I'm picky so it has to be one I can connect to at some point.
favourite face: Uh?? Face of my muse??
I guess I would say Teacher (David[above]) has a really cute face and I adored rping him being absolutely paranoid.
least favorite face: Hmmm... I think all my previous muses have a cute face. Even Cheshire[below].
multi or single: Multiship aw yeaaa
WRITING PREFERENCES:
fluff, angst or smut: Angst, really. (I actually started out with smut but angst is really cool /)//v//(\ )
long or short replies: My replies get longer even if it's short :'I Longer, I guess. I like to know what's going on in a character's head, even if my muse doesn't see it.
best time to write: Midnight. (That's only if I'm not busy with other things)
do you like your muse(s): I only dislike my Sidney Black muse. I still enjoy his character, but my experience with him did not turn out very well, and I will remain cautious if I were to reconsider rping him. Every other muse has come out nicely and I like them very much.
"Wow! What a coincidence! My name is also Jugenmujugenmugokonosurikekaijarisugesumematsufunfaimatsufuraimatsukurunetokoronisumiyapparikojiyapparikojibaibobaibobaiboshuringashuringanugurindaigurindainobomboribombonanojoukyuumechousuke!"
Once again, Kino had set off on her journey after her short stay in a country so peculiar.
It was a country that solely depended on beauty. The Land of Beautiful People, so the country was called. Every person Kino had witnessed, were very physically attractive. But after a day, she noticed that each individual was always in competition. One, considered more beautiful than the rest, would be praised as the rest weeped in anguish, wishing their beauty to be the same. Not only was it between women, but men, as well.
If women were not wooed at least once during their day, their obsession would return them back to the hospital, ready for a surgery to improve their looks. Seniors did not resemble an older form of what a human should have been. Their bodies were too young for their age. Most children quietly bit their lips as their parents told them to walk a certain way, look a certain way, and eat a certain way to remain elegant, and beautiful.
Kino had heard too often the insults of how the traveler, herself, was not attractive. Whispers stated she needed to lose a little weight. Her face was too round. Her skin complexion was rough. Her eyebrows were thick. Her clothes considered weren’t suiting for a young woman. Some even saying that a man shouldn’t dress this way, either.
Yet, none of it was offensive to Kino. Kino’s world, and the citizen of this country’s world, could not mingle a single fiber that existed in both worlds were they to try. In retrospect, each person Kino encountered wasn’t proud of themselves. Their outbursts were just a reaction of their own insecurities that could not be easily fixed.
An interesting country, like many before this one. However, the Land of Beautiful People were indeed beautiful. But the only beauty left there was the collage of their bodies. The rest of it remained painted with suffering.
Drifting further away from the country, Kino only became curious to think about what the next country would be like. Going back to another chaotic country may be overbearing, but that was the entire point of her journey.
"Are we almost there? I think my tires are gonna pop if we keep running over these rocks!”
Kino was a little irritated, but replied, “After going through what we had in the last country, I think we’re both a little exhausted.”
“Well, there’s a country up ahead.” Hermes stated. Kino drove a little faster, hoping she could sleep in a bed instead of in a tent. Hotels in the previous country didn’t quite accept Kino because of the way she looked, causing her to sleep on the floor of the forest.
“Whoa! Slow down! You could hurt yourself! And if that happens, I’d end up being beside your aching corpse and broken bones for so many seasons that my cylinder would end up rusting. My seat would be torn by passing animals and-”
“Hermes. A motorrad is made for driving, isn’t it? I think it’s best to do just that.”
As Hermes was just about to say his little comeback, Kino had already reached the next country. The name of it was unknown, but it was filled with many people with ordinary shops. A city was what it was. Kino could smell fresh food while she removed herself from Hermes.
“Maybe we don’t need to worry for three days.” Kino sighed in relief, propping herself against the motorrad.
“Good for you. But you shouldn’t spend the first day doing nothing.”
“I know, but I don’t know if there’s inspection. Some countries don’t have it.”
“Then why don’t you ask around?” Hermes suggested. The traveler removed her goggles, agreeing with the suggestion and approaching the first person she set eyes upon.
“Excuse me. I don’t mean to bother you but if you could help me just a little bit, it would mean a lot. Is that alright with you?”
Though Vivek knew there was no use in feeling bad for himself, a sense of melancholy still encircled around him. Within moments, he proceeded to stare down towards the table, accompanied by a wistful gaze. What has the world come to, now that he began relying on a kid’s company? “How very kind of you.” Vivek commented.
“But seriously, thanks. I… really appreciate it.” He forced a smile along his lips. No sooner had he done so, the bespectacled male sensed his phone giving off a faint buzz. Almost immediately, a startled expression momentarily overcame his features. “Oh, hold on a sec.” He murmured before taking it out from his pocket. What he then saw on the screen made his heart nearly plummet to the ground.

Ha, serves you right, faggot! >:D
Lizzi here would never date a guy you.
Just get lost already and suck a dick.
Vivek’s breath hitched in throat, though that didn’t stop himself from momentarily dismissing the rather obscene message within mere seconds. “It’s fine. Nothing happened.” He quickly insinuated, though that happened to be a lie as well. The truth was, his shock had already become replaced with anger, in which never showed itself outwardly, appearance wise. He could only imagine what his room mates back home would way, but for the time being, Vivek had to remain strong.
She was late in responding but assumed her attention was all that would suffice for the moment.
Taking little bites of her sandwich, she had nothing else to notice other than the fact that the air was filled with discomfort. However, the immediate reaction to saying that nothing happened was a little bit incorrect. What did happen was: the male received something that only he and the person giving would witness. Only in a literal sense, that event was true.
"If you say so."
Whatever he received, it was something he did not want to talk about. It was not Kino's obligation to console the stranger nor question his motives, and if he did not desire to talk about it on his own, she wouldn't pressure him to do so. Sliding over her plate of sandwiches to the center of the table, she decided it was best to get to know the stranger, along with the country, itself.
"You can have as many sandwiches as you'd like." She said, finishing up the one she was eating.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to have a conversation. Are you alright with that?"
The sound of a good meal was too tempting to pass up.He hadn’t been lacking food as long as he had been lacking water, scraps were easy to come by if you kept an open palm, but he would be lying if he tried to claim he’d had a decent meal. Finding a place to eat just hadn’t been all that easy when he’d had trouble reading the various signs.
“Excellent idea.” he smiled brightly. “I’m Oz,” he said in belated greeting. “And I don’t think a meal has ever sounded better. You wouldn’t happen to know the area, would you?”
The stranger seemed more eager than unwilling, so Kino didn't have a choice in the matter. Were Kino to be invited to a free meal, as well, she would have done just the same. Either way, she wouldn't let the stranger starve. It was convenient she managed to do a simple delivery earlier, because if she didn't, she wouldn't have enough money for the both of them.
"I'm Kino. I don't know the area, but I received a guide. It said there was an inexpensive eatery nearby the hotel I was planning to check in. Maybe we could dine there?"
"I don't mind that you are sharing, for once." The motorrad spoke softly, slightly concerned.
"But it would be hard if both of you sat on me. Kino's already heavy enough."
A small kick from the traveler ensued. Hermes, though, didn't appreciate the "friendly" gesture.
Of course, seldom anyone would ever make their way over this part of the forest - with both its hidden location and the eerie rumors of its former purpose as a mental facility serving as deterrence - so the fact that Allen heard knocking coming from the front door at all was very out of the ordinary.
It was out of chance that he was walking downstairs into the foyer when he heard it. The building was big as it is, so with all the other occupants either in their own rooms or preparing dinner, it probably wouldn’t be possible for anyone else to hear it.
Hm… were there any rules about answering the door? He was pretty sure that there wasn’t. It should be okay if he opened it, right?
Without further ado, the door creaked open, the light of the building seeping out of the darkness of the night to shine on the stranger that came to the doorstep.
He didn’t respond immediately, taking a moment to assess the person in front of him. He looked like a rather young man, even if they had at least a few years more than him. It didn’t take a detective to figure out that he was a traveler with how he was dressed. Whoever he was, he was certain that Teacher nor Cliff was ever acquainted with him before. A quiet murmur left his mouth, not really sure how to react to someone he doesn’t recognize. “..Hello.”
Something did not seem to click. During her five-minute waiting, she noticed there were no windows. Yet, for a building as massive as this one, not a single one. Not only that, but it was tucked in and reserved in the middle of a forest.
However, Kino did not expect a child to open the door for her. An old couple, possibly, but a child out of all was astonishing. The country may be stranger than it seemed. Taking quick glances behind the child, Kino wondered what this location did. It was rather empty behind him, and there weren't any people that bustled around the area. Possibly, it could have been a business that did glasses appointments, or something. But it wasn't an ordinary home. Were it to be a business, it would be too far away from its customers.
"...Hello." Kino replied to the child's greeting.
"I'm a traveler. I was passing by the forest but I was running low on fuel. I'm looking for a place to stay for the night."
She heard Hermes slightly sputtering, but refused to acknowledge his intentions. At times, the motorrad just wasn't needed in a few conversations.
Asking a child this request was the strangest, yet. The traveler wondered if he was the only one residing within the building or if there were more people who were around. Such a large building shouldn't contain just one child, would it? And if it did, Kino was curious gain insight on why.
Instead of assuming, it was better to see than to presume. Eyes were not always correct, but the mind can be if given an appropriate amount of information.
"Do you know any nearby locations or if this building has any spare rooms?"
“Oh, uh…In a way. I’m a messenger bird, I deliver letters to people…I travel all around.”
‘Traveler’ could be considered a catch all term, but it was nice to have an identifier for the stranger. It fit the…interesting clothing style of the individual, and the….unique stead they had. Considering Avis technically flew in on paper wings he wasn’t much to complain. Between his desperation and newfound label the stranger became more approachable.
“I’m Avis, by the way….”He said hoping to stall the time they part ways and he has to walk an hour in silence.
Messenger bird? She was able to understand that he was a messenger, but the bird part was a little out of the blue. Perhaps... that explained the strange items protruding from both sides of his head. The traveler had heard many different names before. Never had she heard anyone by the name of Avis, though. Still, it was a name unique in its own way.
“Nice to meet you, Avis. I’m Kino. You must be in a hurry. I wouldn’t say that I have enough room for another person on my motorrad, but if you would like someone to accompany you to the next country, I’m available.” She pivoted to look back at Hermes, but soon returned her glance to the messenger.
♈- ‘Oh hello there.’ A smile was formed over the woman’s lips as she hung upside down from a tree branch. “Oh nothing at all, my dear child. I am just simply hanging around.’
“Whoa!” Hermes exclaimed, his voice a bit more jumpy than his usual monotone.
“I didn’t expect people to come out of trees, but I guess it’s like what they say: Donkey see, donkey do.”
Kino had to think a few seconds before correcting him.
“It’s ‘Monkey see, monkey do.’”
“Yeah. That’s what I said.”
Ignoring the motorrad’s response, Kino was curious if the woman’s cat ears were... part of the country’s customs. However, if the other was comfortable hanging the way the were, Kino didn’t want to bother her.
“Excuse me,” Kino called out, taking a few steps toward the stranger. “Are you a resident of this land?”
