can’t spell husband without band
Top Waiting on Winter songs, ranked by the band wife Waiting on Winter was/is a local band that consisted of two of my friends, my exboyfriend, and my now husband. (I know.) Waiting on Winter lasted from 2010-2012. Mike did lead vocals and guitar. Cody did bass and screams. Patrick did the drums. And then they added Damon, who did vocals and guitar.
I’ve listened to these songs at band practice, in the studio, in the car. I’ve had these song lyrics stuck in my head. I reference the lyrics to mike in daily conversation. These songs are a big deal to this group of friends.
1. Love is a Melody Fun fact- Mike originally had it a different line, but I kept saying “love” so he just changed it to that. This song also went by “the Old New Song” for quite some time because the guys were just lazy to name it. I picked it as my favorite because I love the vocal styles of Mike and Damon, how they go back and forth, a la Mayday Parade.
2. Curtains First of all, no one believes me I like this song. Anyway, I really enjoyed the heaviness of it. I especically love Damon’s (and Mike’s) vocals too. Mike Comments: “wrote with cody. that’s why it’s heavy. there’s no rythm guitar. The lyrics are just "pretty words”. Cody wrote the lines in the breakdown.“
3. First Things First, I’ll Eat You. Okay, I still don’t get that song title, but I think it has something to do with my best friend. Anyway. I like this one because it is composed in a clean, catchy way. Mike Comments: "I wrote the verses, Damon wrote the chorus. done in Product Studios in 2011. The verses are about me. Cody drowns out everybody in the gang vocals.”
4. Do it Now This song is very poppy, but I think mike did good with the lyrics. It’s chorus is really catchy. Overall solid. Mike Comments: “It’s about cody and damon. the "goody goody” line isn’t about anyone; I just liked that line.“
5. Beware of the Groove This song was a big deal when the guys made it. PS, that guitar riff was before ADTR put it in violence. Mike has super sass in this song, like he actually has emotion behind his vocals. Great chorus. Mike Comments: "about cody and damon again. patrick had timing flaws.”
6. What You See is What You Get This is an oldie. It was a staple at every Lighthouse show. Extremely catchy and will be stuck in your head. Mike used to do this “kick” when he sang it and would eventually point to me when he did it because I always made fun of him for it.
7. Bombshell This along with Beware of the Groove were the big songs of the band. This was radio friendly, all time low perfect pop punk.
8. Three Stop Town Three Stop Town refers to a small town that means a lot to a lot of us. This song is super cute and catchy. He wrote this song right as Mike and I started talking. Mike Comments: “Verses about megan, the choruses are about the band.”
9. Goodnight Beautiful Like Curtians, I really do enjoy the heavier songs. It’s melodic enough. This is one of those songs that could have been something. Mike Comments: “Did everything but drums. It’s inspired by After Midnight by Blink. Lyrics are me arguing with my future self.”
10. Summer Anthem An oldie! This one will ABSOLUTELY be stuck in your head. Sugary good pop punk. Mike Comments: “I almost made out with Damon once.”
sweaty hugs after a show.
it’s like, good job but don’t touch me.
air drumming.
can you not?
“Are you going to the show?”
I go to all of them.
“I just need one thing at guitar center”
he compared my butt to a kick drum

My kids that I'm tutoring are asking why I have an x on my hand.
it means I spent way too much for cover.
