In The Name Of Song. Two Halves.
Part Seven: Two Halves:
Y/N discovers the reason behind these nightmares and he isnât what she thought he was at all.
A/N: ahh guys Iâm so happy so many people are enjoying this series! Have some sweet Yoongi for once and finally some more of the story is making sense and not quite a Y/Nkook meeting but weâre almost there guys! Enjoy! â€ïž
âWhy didnât you mention the nightmares to me?â Yoongi was staring into the young girls eyes, she shrugged her shoulders, a saddened look on her face, her legs crossed as she sat inside the dark living room of Yoongiâs apartment. His hand reached out and spread across her forehead, a shocking sensation tingling though her body as her eyes rolled to the back of her head. She could see a boy, the same boy from her dreams, he was laying in bed, a pained look visible across his sweaty face, a crimson hue set upon his cheeks, his torso lay bare, glistening and heaving with the efforts of his laboured breath. She could see herself in his bedroom, stood in the doorway, her feet moved before her mouth moved.
âAre you Okay?â
It was a slight whisper, in fact she doubted heâd hear her but when his red eyes shifted to her with a movement quicker than she anticipated, her whole body backed into the wall.
âY/N? I wonât hurt you. Please!â His voice was cracking at the end of the sentence, tears falling from his eyes and Y/N quickly took a couple steps towards his bed, stopping just before reaching the edge.
âWho are you? How do you know me?â Her voice was louder but still held a fear to it.
âIâm the wolf thatâs been watching you, Iâm-â
His voice became a growl as his eyes glowed from red to brown and back again. Her whole body felt tense, the feral growl piercing her every muscle, injecting it with fear. He was gripping the bed sheets and then, his hand was on hers and she could really feel him. Despite his demeanour his touch was calm, gentle, searing hot and burning into her skin.
âIâm your mate, I need your help, I canât control myself anymore, ple-â
Another shock ran straight through her, her eyes fluttering open as she took in the concentrated expression that belonged to Yoongi. There were tears in her eyes and he was looking straight at her.
âIâm sorry I canât hold it for very long, it uses too much power,â he was mumbling and he seemed genuinely sorry, the sorriest sheâd seen him since she moved here. There was a bright flash outside the grey dusty windows, followed by a large rumble of thunder. Storms happened at least once a week here, it was something Y/N had grown used to.
âWhat does he mean heâs my mate?â Y/Nâs voice was quiet, a glum look on her beautiful face as her tears dried and left a slight stain.
âI think you need to have this discussion with your grandma, she can help you,â Yoongi was smiling, a genuine, kind smile that warmed Y/Nâs heart.
âYoongi can you promise me something?â
âAnything,â
âCan you promise that when my time is up here youâll stay in my life, I think I need you to stay forever,â
âOf course Kiddo, iâd be happy to,â
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
âWho were you talking to?â Namjoon was staring around the plain room, Taehyung close behind him, Hobi sitting next to Jungkook, a hand pressed to his forehead.
âY/N, she was here, with me, she came to me,â Jungkook was smiling, it was the first time in almost a week that any of the boys had seen him smile. It had been almost two days since Yoongi had spoken to him.
âWhat do you mean she was here?â Taehyung asked, pacing through the fluffy carpet, his cold toes raking through the satisfying strands as he shuffled his feet extra hard.
âShe was right here, she spoke to me, sheâs scared of me, she must be dreaming of me, I donât know, I felt her touch, I held her hand!â He was smiling widely now, happy, his fever long forgotten despite his soaring body temperature. Each of the boys stared at each other.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
âGrandma, tell me about Jungkook,â Y/N was on the island. When she had come to this reality she had discovered that her grandma lived on her own separate island, a small cottage in the center, the rest greenery and a large jungle stretching behind the house, a small beach on the front side of the cottage.
âItâs about time you asked me,â her grandma was laughing, cute eyes full of wisdom and a life well lived lighting up and then hiding away behind her wrinkled eyelids. Her hands enveloped Y/Nâs smoother ones, clasping them tightly.
âHeâs your soulmate my dear, I had a witch hex the two of you so that youâd be destined to be together,â her grandma stated it so calmly that it made Y/Nâs breathing fall short. Her Grandmas face had turned serious, a distant look overtaking her.
âYour mother gave me so much grief, her world was hatred and emptiness for so long, your father was the first and only time I ever saw her somewhat content and I didnât want the same for you, I wanted to make sure that you were happy and never had problems. My best friend growing up was a witch, from a powerful coven, they were bad witches, nasty, horrible people that came directly from the same witch that created your families curse to begin with. My friend was trying to overthrow them, to create a spell so powerful that it would lock them all away for eternity however before she could finish her spell I asked a favour of her. I knew you were going to be born 7 years before you arrived, I asked her to put a curse on your mother and the mother of a supernatural being from a kind family. I knew that in the reality youâd be sent to youâd have unlimited access to the supernatural and I wanted to make sure you met with a good fish in a sea of bad ones. I had her seek out families with a good fortune and ensured that she found families that gave her a good feeling. In the end we discovered a small pack made up of just two werewolf families that stuck very closely together, one of the families was already expecting a son and the other had just married. We wanted someone who would be younger than the son on the way so I had my friend hex the mum, the hex meant that her first born son would be destined to be together with your mothers first born daughter, you. You see what we didnât anticipate is that this young werewolf would be a true alpha, he holds a tremendous power, as do you, when she was killed you and him took half of her power equally. If the two of you come together you can accomplish amazing things, however, he is struggling to contain this power inside of his body, he does not have the training and guidance that you do. Nobody knows about him except for you, me, Yoongi and my witch friend who is unfortunately no longer with us.â
The information should have scared Y/N, God, she knew anyone would be scared but to know all of what she now knew comforted her, it gave her a sense of relief. She knew that Jungkook was not there to hurt her and she knew that she would no longer be able to kill her true love because even if it was forced she had knew he was a good choice for her.

Jungkook is plagued with nightmares about a shiny emerald mermaid and maybe they arenât going away any time soon, maybe, youâre having nightmares about a werewolf that wants to hurt you.Â

It had been 3 days since their little conversation about you and Jungkook and Namjoon was adamant in finding you and bringing you back to their reality. Trouble would be how to find you and the fact that even though it had only been 4 days since you had left for them, it had been almost 6 months for you.
âJust, summon him?â Taehyungâs voice was bold, full of a statement that had Hobi rolling his eyes,
âdonât you think that if I could do that, I would have already done it by now?â Hobiâs eyes were trained on the ceiling, the games console controller heavy in his left hand that sagged off the sofa and hovered inches from the floor. Taehyung was holding a clear bag with the letters AB- written across the front, a deep red liquid disappearing from within, passing through his lips with the curly metallic straw he had shoved through the top of the bag.
âHow does he reach out to you normally?â Namjoon sighed, his controller discarded by his feet, his eyes focused on the bright red âGAME OVERâ that had been flashing on the television screen for the last 7 minutes. Hobi sighed and Seokjin peered in from the kitchen,
âI donât choose when he comes you know, heâll send me a letter, they donât have a postage address or anything, they just appear and then he gives me a meeting point, which by the way is different every time he needs me, and I just show up there at the date and time he gives me and then wow, he appears, except this time he didnât send a letter, he just appeared at the allotment whilst I was collecting herbs for my medicines and well, he just begged me to come with him and I went,â Hobi was listing off useless information, falling on deaf ears. His eyes remained glassy and unblinking as he continued to find interest in the swirly patterns of their white ceiling.
âWell, he keeps the peace between supernatural, maybe we just need to have a big fight and heâll come,â Seokjin was shrugging, one hand on his hip as he wiped the other across the cooking apron that tied around his waist that read âHOT MAMAâ.
âYou say that so seriously as if you werenât dressed like that right now,â Taehyung was giggling, a red tint to his plump lips as he swiped his blood-stained tongue across it. Seokjin rolled his eyes,
âIâm making chicken casserole, we need Jungkook to eat something, I thought maybe heâd enjoy that,â
âHeâs not home, and another thing, I think heâs a true alpha,â Namjoon hadnât slept since he was told the youngest pack members eyes had âglowed redâ, especially since it was only possible to become an alpha if your pack dies or youâre a beta and the alpha dies. Namjoon would never forget the day when he became an alpha. His brothers, his whole family had been killed, cut to pieces at the hands of a witch.
âwhat the hell is a true alpha?â Taehyung now had a blood bag with the letter âA+â written across it, this had been his 4th one of the day.
âA true alpha is someone who doesnât need to climb the ranks, they donât need to lose their packs, they donât need to kill their pack to become one, they are destined to be one, they are born as an alpha. Itâs extremely rare and the alpha gene doesnât take control of someone unless they kill someone who is innocent, thatâs the only way that they can become their true alpha selves, theyâre more powerful than any other alphas, itâs a 1 in 500 chance,â

Seokjin discovers he isnât the only one who knows who you are and maybe youâre the key to fixing his sick pack mate.Â

âWhere is Y/N?â Seokjinâs voice was quiet, hurt, as he stared into your parents face, the bed where you had been just a few days before was left empty, untouched, thin sheets splayed across the floor, a small note on the bed.
Dear werewolves,
I took Y/N, sheâll be back when sheâs ready to come back to this world,
Tell your werewolf friend that sheâs transitioning,
She isnât hurt, Iâm keeping her safe,
Do NOT look for her,
Kindly,
Min Yoongi.
He knew who that was. He knew that Yoongi was the devil that cared for the 7th reality, supernatural creatures would go there for training, to continue the cycle that had been there for years. They had to kill those who committed sins in this world. He had gone there a few years ago, when he had left you all those years, he had known about it, an older werewolf who had been in his fatherâs pack had told him. He assumed you didnât know about it, since you hadnât told him about it. He wasnât here. That was the problem, he had been gone. He wasnât even in the pool house, where heâd usually be at the time. He was helping the youngest of the pack, Jungkook, he had been unwell for a while. At first, they had thought that he was going through heat, despite him having gone through several heats before, none had been like that one he was experiencing. Hoseok was convinced that it was because his mate had been nearby, that he could sense this and needed her company. Taehyung was more convinced that it was an actual sickness, perhaps a flu that just hit the werewolf too hard. Being a vampire, Taehyung clearly didnât realise that werewolves didnât simply catch colds.
Namjoon, their alpha was away, leaving Seokjin to tend to the younger wolf.
âWhen you came back from the 7th reality, you didnât age as you have there, you came back at a normal age, the age you would have been if you had stayed here,â Your mum was staring at him, a small frown on her lips, âDo you think Y/N can do the same?â She asked, hopeful eyes staring through him.
âWell, I highly doubt that, I made a deal with a witch, she agreed with me that if I stayed for longer than I was supposed to, I could return back to my original age that I would have been in the real world. I spent a total of 3 years away from this world, do you know how I survived? When I began to get too old, sheâd have a fallen angel bring me back to when I was 18 and then when she didnât need me anymore, she returned me to this world, aged 18. I know and have done so many horrible things. She had me do her dirty work for her and if I was of use, she had me do everything. I was there as her muscle as she liked to put it. Y/N wouldnât do that, sheâll come out in a few years, sheâll be older.â Seokjin was gripping the note hard in his hand.
âSo, if it was only 3 years where were you for the other 3, when you didnât come back until Y/N had turned 14?â Your father was glaring at the werewolf, eyes stone cold.
âWerewolves cannot survive on their own, they need a pack, I left for a year to find a pack, I hunted down two werewolves, they were sticking together, an alpha and an omega, their Salutary was away, disappeared and they were trying to hunt him down. That Salutary was discovered by me and the two of them almost a year and a half later. He was with a vampire, a vampire who had been strangely raised by werewolves who had then become the sentinel of the pack. We established our pack and I became the Beta of the pack, second in command. It took us another six months to vacate the cabin in the woods not far from here, the Omega had requested water nearby so we had to take down that cabin to ensure no predators could lurk and in the six months we built our own new cabin,â Seokjin seemed to have his whole life figured out, everything was in place for him.
âSo, were you the one whoâs been watching over Y/N in that werewolf for the last year then?â Your mums face was drawn into a sour pout, lips wrinkled around the edges and tired hollowed eyes staring over the younger manâs head. His eyes creased into a confused expression, his brain leaping from conclusion to conclusion.
âno-â
There was a large gap before any more words were said, Seokjinâs brain found the only possible conclusion that made sense. Jungkook.
âIâll be back, I know who it was!â
And with those final words Seokjin was leaping up from your bed, running through the house and down the streets, towards the forest. His feet stumbling and tripping as he rid himself of layers of clothing, the late hour allowing him to comfortably do so. His ankles twisted, bones cracked and popped out of their sockets. A horrifying crack and creak of breaking bones echoed throughout the empty streets and then a beautiful brown wolf with Golden sunshine eyes leapt through the concrete streets that slowly became leaf covered dirt and the crunching beneath his paws soon reached the ears of 4 supernatural beings that resided deep in the forest. His paws halted all movement as they reached the large cabin, The Alpha was stood in the doorway, strict, cold eyes staring at the older wolf.
âSeokjin, why didnât you fetch me?â His voice was cold and tired, a hunt had clearly gone badly for him, his tight expression told Seokjin so much as his bones returned to normal. His naked body shook as he adjusted back to his human state.
âIâve had a lot on my mind Namjoon, the girl I lo- â
âOur pack comes first!â
The voice boomed across the expanse of the forest, skating over the length of the large lake and bouncing through the walls of the cabin, two younger men came bounding through the door, one of pale dead complexion and one with a completely puzzled look on his face. The Alphaâs eyes were glowing red, a threat sitting low in his throat, a growl emitting from him that had the Beta lowering his head and clasping his hands together in front of him.
âWell, I also helped that girl,â Hobiâs voice was low and shy, unwilling to meet the eyes of the Alpha and Beta, the younger next to him sucked in a deep breath.
âMan, werewolves are so stupid,â His voice was full of laughter, a joke to lighten the dark atmosphere that had taken over the late afternoon.
âWho is this special girl? How important is she that you both prioritised her over Jungkook!?â His voice began calm but by the end Namjoon was raising his voice loud enough to make the three men flinch.
âI donât know her, Yoongi asked me for help, you know I assist him in the 7th reality every so often, she had just transitioned for the first time! Her legs were all cut up and she was in pain, she couldnât move, I had to help her, you know my good werewolf nature mixed with my motherly instinct from my jaguar side makes me good at caring for others,â He was enthusiastically putting together a case to protect himself, once again using his breeds to his advantage.
âHobi, I wish youâd stop blaming your idiocy on your mixed breed heritage,â Namjoon mumbled, eyes darting straight to Seokjin.
âOkay, first, Hobi what the fuck! Why did not tell me! That girl, thatâs- My- That-â His head was reeling at this information, Y/N was hurt, she really did need him and he didnât help her, instead, his dumb were jaguar pack mate.
âThatâs Y/N, my little Y/N, my own little sister, the person who I was supposed to protect with my life and yet, you-, you did more for her than I could,â Seokjin was truly dejected, a pang of guilt hitting him straight through the heart.
âso what? This girl is the reason you wanted to be close to this god-awful town?â Namjoon was sighing, eyes returning to normal as he watched the older male nod his head.
âher name is Y/N, sheâs a mermaid, something is wrong with her, she needs to be with me, by my side, sheâs my mate, I need her, you need to get her out of that reality, bring her back here.â
The voice was weak and exhausted, a slight pant accentuating each word, his body heaving with the efforts of having moved from his bed. A small shirt was gripped into his tight fist, a familiar scent overtaking Seokjinâs nose. A wet cloth sat snug on Jungkookâs forehead, ragged hair sticking to the material, droplets of sweat working their way down his exposed torso.
âJungkook, you couldnât even move before, did Hobi- â
âI didnât do anything, itâs the shirt, itâs Y/Ns, I happened to have it with me in my bag, I completely forgot about it but I pulled it out when I was helping Jungkook, and he turned into some feral beast, he attacked me and ripped it from my hands,â Hobi was waving his arms as he spoke, exaggerating every word with a movement of his wrist. Taehyung was nodding along to everything,
âItâs true Namjoon, his eyes were glowing red, they were so scary, he became a different person, he just snatched the shirt and sniffed it and then he seemed to get better, it was like magic, of course, magic isnât real be-â
âenough!â Namjoon was once again making all the boys flinch, all except Jungkook who remained stoic as his body shook with fever.
âSeokjin did you know about this?â Namjoon was rubbing his hands over his face, anger filling his every pore. Seokjin shook his head,
âI didnât but thatâs why I came over, I had a feeling, I knew something wasnât right, Jungkook has been switching in to his werewolf form involuntarily for the past few days, he always leaves for hours but comes back every time slightly better than when he left, I think his wolf has been taking him to see her,â Seokjin was now sitting on the steps of the cabin, a dressing gown pulled snug over his body that Taehyung had put over him a few minutes prior.
âthen, we need to cut her training short and bring her here,â

âI understand the parentâs side of things. My Great, Great Grandmother betrayed a group of witches by having an affair with the head witchesâ husband, who was a human and had a child, so they cursed her. The curse meant that she would never be able to marry a regular human or another mermaid, if she did fall in love with any of these then she was destined to kill him with her voice. Right? So, when she sang a lullaby to her baby, the husband died. The baby, who was my great grandmother, ended up marrying an nasty, rebelling mermaid, their female baby was born half mermaid, the other half became what was known as a siren because the baby, our grandmother, used her powers for evil things, sheâd lure sailors in, killing them and using them, never falling in love but instead simply killing them. When we use our siren form to lure people instead of making them fall in love, we will simply kill them. Grandma used the sailors and ended up having a baby with one of them, she abandoned this baby and another mermaid raised mum.â You rambled,
The story was beyond complicated, your head spinning round in circles as Jimin stared at you, nodding every so often with a focused look on his face. He reached his hand out and placed it gently on your ankle, in the few hours that Yoongi had left you alone with Jimin you came to realise that he was an extremely clingy person.
âYes, thatâs all correct and then you know the story with mum and dad, we are now indebted to the reapers but the devils and angels work along side these reapers and when an angel falls, instead of becoming a devil, they are stuck wandering around the earth however they retain some of their angel powers. Yoongi is a fallen angel because he betrayed Michael, the archangel. He has not told me what he did to this day. He is stuck on earth, he begged the reapers to kill him again, to take him from this world and place him as a devil in the next but they would not do it. He begged for a purpose, for something to do, for something to protect, they told him that his debt would be payed off if he spent his life watching over our families. They told him that when we turned 18 he had to bring us here and watch us, make sure that we werenât causing harm to the reality that we were in, this is the 7th Reality, weâre from the first reality which is the main reality. He had some other mermaids brought here to train me, our grandmother is here, sheâs going to help you, along with me, weâre going to train you.â Jiminâs voice was soothing, his words somehow sinking fully into you and making it seem as though maybe all of this would be okay.Â

The sound felt cold, the ripples repeating themselves over and over, the droplets falling a few meters from your head. Your body was shivering, and you were covered in a gooey sheen, like that of a scaly fish. Your whole body shivered as a breeze crossed your skin and it made tiny lumps appear all over you. You groaned at the sensation in your legs, pain, fire, you couldnât move them, sure you had feeling but they werenât moving. They felt stuck. You could smell the sea. A smell you had grown accustomed to, a smell you were familiar with, a smell that reminded you of your dad.
âHeâs not your dad.â
Your eyes shot open, your head shooting over to the sound of the voice. The guy was here again, Yoongi you recalled him telling you. There was another man right beside him, half his body inside the water. You peaked around, you were in a cave of sorts, beautiful lights and streaks bouncing off the wall from the bright pool of turquoise water that the man was half submerged in. There were large rocks scattered across the cave, many in weird patterns, almost like a place of gathering. Your eyes focused down onto your legs as you sat up, they werenât stuck. They were bruised and they had harsh cuts and grazed all over them.Â

The pool house you were residing in was owned by your parents. They had purchased it when you were young, about 10 or 11, it was so exciting to you, they held lessons for younger children there. As you grew older they stopped doing lessons and it came to be your safe haven. They had it built specifically for you, not that you knew this. In fact, there was a lot of secrets about this place that you didnât know. They had a basement built, it was full of chains and cells and blood and when Jin told you heâd be going away and heâd be gone for a week or two at a time, heâd actually been in that same basement the whole time. That was something youâd learn all about sooner than you knew.
You panted as another wave of heat soared through your body, eyes and face scrunching as a thick layer of sweat built on your skin. You hadnât been able to get into the pool today, your body too tired and sore to even move from the bed. You could hear footsteps approaching you quickly, fast as if they were jogging and then they suddenly stopped, a high pitched screech from the rubber of their shoes killed your eardrums. You turned your head to see the door creak open and then a face you had never seen before emerged.
His face was slightly flushed and he was panting from the running he had just done. His eyes were cat like and staring straight at you, dark and somewhat entertained, he seemed to be happy to see you, despite the state you were in. His thin lips however were pressed into a straight, taught line as if he was trying to mask his content. He was extremely pale, skin almost appearing translucent and you donât know if you were imagining it, fever induced hallucinations taking over your body, but he seemed to be glowing. His white, loose dress shirt seemed to be clinging to his body as if he too was covered in sweat and his dark curly hair stuck to his forehead, tickling his eyebrows. His stance was extremely relaxed, inviting you to talk to him. He looked scary, yes, slightly intimidating from the darkness of his eyes, but that content glint lured you in.
âI thought Iâd be too late, that Iâd never see you again and that I wouldnât be able to stop this.â He was still panting, voice deeper than you imagined and a strange accent that you couldnât pinpoint, his letters lisping slightly.
âI- who are-â you stopped talking and clench your lips tight as another wave of pain took over your body, your legs on fire. He crossed the small room very quickly, all his movements seeming rushed as if he was scared you would slip away at any moment.
âMy name is Yoongi, I know youâre about to be so confused but I need you to see something, I need to explain something to you. Iâm going to take you away from here, youâll be gone for a long time, you mustnât fight me. I know thereâs people here that will protect you with their life, people you donât even know that have been watching and looking out for you for years. You need to give in to the fever, stop fighting it, your body is changing, youâre becoming who you were cursed to be, the bad and the good.â
If you hadnât been burning in pain and fever you would have laughed out loud, however, you were sure you were hallucinating. Just yesterday you had thought youâd seen a wolf staring at you through the windows of the pool hall. Of course there was no wolves in the small suburbs you lived in and especially not out in your city. You stared at the man, entranced by his eyes, sucking you into him.
âYou-youâre crazy, Im hall- youâre not real.â You were slurring your words, almost writhing in pain as your body convulsed into the bed, your legs feeling as though they were splitting in half, your back beginning to feel similar.
âYou might be but let me warn you, youâre going to die from this, itâll kill you if I donât take you out to where you need to go, just give in. Do you want to die? Do you want to never see your family ever again?â
His words were like an echo, like he was standing under water. The sound of waves crashing in your head, droplets and ripples of water. His voice quickly lost its sound, itâs tone dissapearing from your head. Instead you were taken over by a singing, at first a weeping sound, then angelic harmonies that drew you in, comforting you. Then, words replaced the sounds you were hearing:
My heart is pierced by Cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There is nothing can console me
But my jolly sailor bold
His hair it hangs in ringlets
His eyes as black as coal
My happiness attend him
Wherever he may go
From Tower Hill to Blackwall
I'll wander, weep and moan
All for my jolly sailor
Until he sails home

At age 17 you couldnât say that your life was well and truly what you always wished it would be. Of course, you had the family and love you always wished for, despite knowing that your two parents where not yours by blood but merely by a piece of paper they had signed 16 years ago. Your mum would tell you that the piece of paper isnât what makes them your parents, itâs the love and care they have provided that did that. You would often nod your head and smile brightly whilst wrapping your small arms around her waist. Youâre dad would tell you that it was the countless lessons he had taught you and the many trips heâd take you on yearly that allowed you to grow close and lean on him much like the rock everybody craved in their family. You would always be grateful for them.
Family wasnât however, just limited to your mum and dad. Kim Seokjin was like your brother, of course, he definitely wasnât your brother, merely he was just your neighbour. He always treated you like his own sibling, he had helped you learn to ride your bike that you now abandoned after you had injured your arm and became scared to even step on the bike. He had grumbled and complained when you told him about your first crush and then comforted you when he had publicly humiliated you in front of everyone at school. He had helped you sneak out on countless occasions when you had been grounded. But there was countless things that made your life so far very strange.
You remember the single time Jin had hurt you, when he left your heart broken and your feelings crushed. He had been turning 18, you were only 8 at the time yet you still remember it in such detail.
âHey kid, Iâm going away for a while okay?â
You looked up at him with your big innocent eyes, processing his words. To you, his words meant that he was going on a trip, that heâd be gone for a couple days, maybe a week.
âOh, is your daddy taking you on a trip? Like the one me and my daddy just got back from? Are you going to see a beautiful waterfall too?â Your grin was full of excitement and Seokjin felt his heart crack at the happiness that he was about to destroy. He sighed and ran his hand through your hair, tucking the hair that you had cut yourself just yesterday behind your ear.
âNo, Iâm going to go live somewhere else for a little while, a month or two, I donât know when Iâll be back but I love you okay?â He wasnât smiling. Your young brain had already been trained to process human emotions and that came along with processing their facial expressions. His face was not happy, the emotion you related to going on a trip. His face looked like when you lost your spelling contest or when you tripped whilst trying to learn to skate. He looked sad, and angry.
âYouâre not going to come back are you?â Your bottom lip had jutted out and your big eyes had become so watery that he knew you were about to burst into tears. He quickly tried to smile but he knew you were a smart kid.
âI will. I promise Iâll be back. Iâm not leaving you forever.â
His promise had been true. Although you had felt that he lied for the longest time. For weeks, you had asked your mum and dad when he would be back, they always told you they didnât know, they lied every time. For weeks, you would knock on the door in the beat that he always knocked in, hoping heâd swing the door open and his bright smile would light up the world that felt so gloomy to you and heâd tell you a crazy story about wolves and princesses like he always did.
He didnât. For weeks, you refused to do anything you usually loved. Your parents decided to put you in swimming classes, you had always loved the water and your days became an endless routine that you felt comfortable and content with. Youâd go to school from 9am-2:30pm and then youâd go swimming straight after school, until 4pm.
He wasnât there for your 9th birthday, or your tenth or your eleventh. In fact he wasnât there for any of your birthdays up until you turned 14. By which time you had turned into an amazing swimmer who won countless competitions and had many trophies. You had changed from the bright young child he knew to a quiet, reserved and analytical teenager who didnât let anyone inside the four walls of her heart. You remember the day he came back just as well as the day he left.
âOkay, your entitled to your opinion dad but itâs always you who decides where we go and then I donât get a say in it, I simply tag along and then pretend to enjoy the stupid games you make me play.â Your tone was standoffish and rude, a nasty tone you had adopted in the last couple of months. Youâd noticed your parents were lying to you about something, everything around you felt like a lie.
âY/N donât speak to me like that, you always loved our trips, you used to get so excited. I donât like this attitude of yours.â His voice was calm, collected, but his eyes held an anger you didnât dare question.
âWell, I donât like when I canât even trust you and mum to tell me the truth about anything.â Youâre tone was more sour, a slight crack in your voice that made your mum tilt her head towards the floor, her own throat becoming tight with emotion. The conversation didnât continue, instead you made your way upstairs, shuffling your feet and your tired body across the carpeted floor. You shoved your bedroom door open and quickly slammed it behind you. Your forehead pressed into the dressing gown you had hung up there, your fists coming up to clench it as you let the ball in your throat burst into a hurricane of tears and gasps. Your body shook as huge sobs raked through your body and pushed themselves out of your throat. The dressing gown quickly became soaked with the fat tears that kept escaping your eyes.
âStop crying, this isnt who you are Y/N.â
That single sentence shook your whole body and the thin hairs of your neck stood on edge. Your breathing hitched and you held it there as you turned to face the male voice that broke the disaster that was your emotions. His face held a warm smile, kind eyes staring at you, happiness written in every corner of his matured face. His broad shoulders stood straight and confident, his now muscular body stood leaning towards you, something you observed of people who were curious about you. His arms were outstretched in a position that beckoned you to hug him.
Kim Seokjin.
âStop staring and come and give me a hug.â
His face quickly lost all smile and happiness when yours turned void of emotion, the sadness even disappearing. There was a darkness behind your once innocent eyes that caused a chill to run up his spine. Your body turned rigid and a scowl appeared on your young beautiful face.
âGet out of my room.â You growled, your hands bunching to fists at your side. He was shocked at the hatred in your voice, the once bright, happy voice of an 8 year old was now a hurt, angry voice of a 14 year old. He quickly crossed the small room and took you into his arms.
âY/N you need to stop being so defensive, it isnât healthy, your face is going to wrinkle from how angry you look right now, I promised Iâd be back didnât I?â He was smiling, laughing even, his arms wrapped around your smaller form tightly.
You remember arguing and screaming at him for hours about how unfair it was, that he abandoned you. He had left you when you needed him and he wasnât there when you grew up and faced awful things. He made you a new promise, that heâd be there for good from now onwards. And he kept that promise, every month he left a week or so at a time but heâd come right back. Heâd always look happy and fulfilled every time. He was gone again, a week before your 18th and he still wasnât back, heâd already been gone a whole week and you needed him to be back.
You had been unwell for the last couple of days, a high fever and intense sweats and hot flushes taking over your body. Your parents refused to have anyone come and see you, instead they made a make shift hospital room for you in the old changing room of the the pool house they owned and you stayed there. You found yourself dipping your self into the pool on a daily basis, the water dramatically cooling you. You need Jin to come back and reassure you. You needed him more than you would ever think. Him, and the others heâd bring with him when you felt like you were dying and you changed forever.
