Riker Imagine for Mara ( barakarthgroupies )
I glanced at myself in the mirror again, smoothing down the folds in the large skirt of my gown. Today was the big day that would mark the beginning of the rest of my life and even though it was a nerve-racking thing to be thinking about, I still couldn’t be any happier.
“You look absolutely beautiful,” my best friend said, coming up behind me and making eye contact with the reflection of myself in the full-length mirror.
“Thank you,” I reply quietly.
“Riker is the luckiest guy in the world, Mara,” Brianna tells me.
We hear a light knock at the door before my other friend, Rydel, walks in. “It’s time,” she says. Brianna and I look at each other before turning and heading out the door, grabbing my bouquet of flowers off the table on my way out. I had selected a simple arrangement made out of different flowers which I couldn’t even name. It was their color that had first caught my eye and led me to picking them.
At the end of the hallway I see my parents waiting for me. “My baby girl!” my mom says, kissing me on the cheek. “I guess it’s finally time that I admit to myself that you are all grown up now.”
“Mom, I’m still your kid, no matter what,” I tell her.
“Hi dad,” I say, turning towards him next, knowing that he hasn’t seen me in my dress yet. My dad has never been the type to express his emotions much and this was just another one of those times. Although, even though he didn’t say much, his tear-filled eyes spoke more volumes than any words from him ever could.
He clears his throat sharply. “Are you ready?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be!” I hear the music start to play and watch as my friends proceed into the room.
“I’m so happy for you,” Brianna says before linking her arms with Riker’s younger brother and disappearing through the doorway.
It was then my turn to loop my arm through my father’s. With a firm grasp on my bouquet, I take a deep breath and listen for the music to change. As soon as it does, my dad and I turn and I take in my entire surroundings.
The church is as beautiful as I had expected, with the flowers covering the aisles and altar. I watch as every face I pass by is smiling at me, but then my eyes land on the one face that matters and I don’t look away for the rest of the journey up the aisle. When I get to the end, my dad kisses my cheek before giving me away to Riker.
“I love you,” Riker mouths to me as he takes my hand and helps me up the few steps so that I stand next to him and in front of the priest.
With a slight nod from Riker, the priest begins. “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the beautiful bond of marriage between Riker and Mara….”
The rest of the ceremony goes on just as we had rehearsed and to be honest, I was hardly paying attention to it all. I just went through the motions, speaking whenever the priest asked me to.
When I hear him mention the rings, I snap back to attention as I turn toward Riker, grasping his silver band in my hands. “With this ring, I thee wed,” I say, sliding it on his finger. Next it was his turn and he says the same words before placing the ring on my left hand.
Finally, the priest says the words I have been wanting to here all day. “I now pronounce you man and wife. Riker, you may kiss your bride,” and he does just that. Knowing that so many people were watching us, the kiss is kept short but it is so incredibly sweet.
We then turn to face everyone else gathered in the church. Clasping our hands together, Riker and I walk down the aisle past all of our friends and family as they clap and cheer excitedly. We quickly turn the corner and head down the same hallway I had come from before our wedding. Opening the door, Riker leads me into my dressing room.
“So, wife, I’m going to kiss you like I mean it now that no one’s watching.” “I would love that, husband,” I say, as he softly places his hands on either side of my face and leans down, pressing his lips firmly against mine. The kiss deepens as our tongues tangle together and Riker’s hands trail down my body, deciding to rest on my hips, which he pulls towards himself hungrily.
“Can’t we just skip the reception and go straight to the honeymoon,” Riker moans against my lips as we both pause to catch our breath.
“I wish,” I sigh. Together we leave the room and head outside, where we had told everyone to wait for us so we could maintain the tradition in exiting the church and climbing into our “just married” car.
Luckily the weather was in our favor and the sun was beating down hot and bright without a single cloud in the sky. Again, everyone shouts and cheers, taking quick pictures of us as we stop and hug some people. We come to a stop in front of the black stretch limo that was waiting at the curb for us. Waving and smiling, the two of us climb in before the driver starts up the car and drives away. ___
After having stopped at a beautiful flower garden to take a bunch of pictures, we headed to the banquet hall we had booked to hold all of our guests. We were informed that almost everyone was there so we were allowed to enter the hall, since usually the bride and groom are the last to arrive. We had hired Ryland, Riker’s youngest brother, to be our DJ and when he cut the music we knew it was our cue to enter.
“Please welcome the happy new couple: Mr. and Mrs. Riker Lynch!” his voice booms over the speakers and everyone turns to look at us as we enter the room. We then get separated by all of the people who wanted to talk to us. I go around, thanking everyone I speak to for coming and they all tell me what a lovely ceremony it was and how beautiful I looked.
Before long I’m reunited with my husband at our table for dinner to begin. The food was just as delicious as I had expected it to be and I was very proud of myself for not spilling a single drop on my white dress.
When it becomes obvious that a lot of guests were about finished with their meal, as the waiters had collected the majority of the empty plates, Riker excuses himself from the table. Curious, I watch as he and Ryland walk over to the DJ booth and whisper about something before Riker grabs the microphone.
“Hello everyone,” he speaks into it, trying his best to catch everyone’s attention. “Thank you all for coming! Before the party really gets started with the music and dancing, there is something I want to show my beautiful wife first. Mara, if you could turn to your right…”
I do as he says and see that a projector screen has been brought down from the ceiling. I watch as the lighting becomes very dim and a video begins to play.
It starts with Riker being shown, with one of his brothers in the background and another one must be holding the camera, filming him.
“Are you nervous?” we hear Ross ask the video-taped Riker.
“What? No!” Riker says. He looks past something that must be behind Ross before saying, “Ok, maybe a little.”
“Dude, don’t worry about it!” Rocky says, stepping into the foreground. “She’ll say yes.”
“Can we see the ring again?” Ross asks and Riker pulls the velvet box out of his pocket and opens it. The ring they were talking about was my engagement ring and I immediately knew what this video was. I turn towards Riker and give him a look that says “I can’t believe you did this!”
Riker then takes the chance to leave the microphone behind and come join me at our table again. He pulls his chair up to mine as we continue to watch. The three boys continue to talk and then the video skips to us in the hockey arena. That day was our one and a half year anniversary and Riker and I had decided to take a long weekend vacation and fly out to New York City. While we were there, Riker had surprised me with tickets to a New York Rangers game against my other favorite team, the Detroit Red Wings. At the time, I had found it slightly odd that he had brought his brothers along on our date, but I didn’t think too much of it considering how obsessed they all are with hockey.
Riker and I had two seats directly in front of Ross and Rocky so the video was showing the back of our heads along with the rest of the arena. No one said anything but you could hear the loud noise of the excited fans as the players skated back and forth, chasing the hard, black puck.
Then the camera moved and showed Rocky who was giving a thumbs up sign and nodding his head. From under his seat, he pulls out a large white poster which was rolled up. Taking off the rubber band that was securing it in place, he quietly opens it and shows the sign to the camera.
The scene cuts out again and the camera becomes zoomed in on the jumbotron hanging over the rink. I know exactly what is going to happen next but I still look over at Riker and squeeze his hand.
The jumbotron then starts to show various fans as the different cameras in the arena zoom around and then suddenly it appears on us and I look up at the screen and wave like everyone else does but then I stop when I notice the sign behind me. I quickly turn around and everyone seated in my section is looking at me as I read the words that Rocky was holding up above his head.
The video quickly shifts as the camera is turned towards Riker and I as it is no longer focused on the jumbotron. I turn towards Riker at the sound of his voice. “Mara, you are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I love you so much and can’t imagine being with anyone else. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” I watch as the recorded me covers her mouth with her hand in shock and then Riker repeats the words that were written on the sign. “Mara, will you marry me?” Riker asks.
I can’t get any words out so all I manage to do is shake my head yes, which causes Riker to put a very sparkly ring on my very shaky hand. I quickly kiss him before throwing my arms around him in a hug, which causes the whole arena to erupt into applause as the whole scene was broadcasted on the jumbotron for everyone to see.
The video then cuts to a montage of different pictures of Riker and I ever since we got together. I watch, with tears in my eyes, as all of the memories come back with each photo. When the video ends, the lights turn back on and everyone in the banquet hall claps politely. I look over briefly at my friends and parents, smiling at the fact that my mom and Brianna were wiping away tears just as I was.
“I can’t believe you recorded that,” I tell Riker.
“That moment was so special and I wanted us to always be able to remember it,” Riker says.
“I love you so much,” I whisper, kissing him, not even caring that my face was wet with tears. “This is the best day of my life,” I tell Riker after I pull away, smiling as he wipes the happy tears from my cheeks.
“Mine too,” he says.

whenever u r sad just say “nyoom” whenever u walk around a corner it will make u feel better 100% trust me i am a doctor
YES.
OKAY!
I started living my life by this quote.
You: “Jimmy, I think I broke my foot. Can you help me?” Friend: “Sure, let’s take you to your mom.” You: “Mom, I think my foot is broken. Can you help me?” Mom: “Sure. Let’s take you to the hospital.” You: “Hi, I think I broke my foot. Can you help me?” Receptionist: “Sure. Let me get a doctor.” You: “No thanks. If i ask any more people for help it just means I want attention.”
Yes, because getting opinions from different people (who will each have their own perspective and advice to give on something) is just seeking attention.
God that post is such bullshit like shove it up your ass.
