cats are independent, everyone knows that. so being a cat and growing up on the isle makes you double independent. both there and in auradon, it’s not very hard to pick out the people who were previously cats or had some sort of cat as a parent. they usually kept to themselves and very few close friends rather than being friends/acquaintances with almost everyone, and just gave off a ‘don’t fuck with me’ vibe. finn of course didn’t have that luxury, but he was observant and could tell the woman walking toward him was definitely an isle cat. he wasn’t sure if she was going to stop at him or not, but he spoke anyway. “hey. what’s up?”
some would say it was cruel even for a villain to have no sense of loyalty to their own kind. those naive enough to believe that also believed that just because a villain had birthed a child it meant even if they loved no one else, their child would be the exception. they were wrong on both notions. sauda felt no loyalty to her own family let alone fellow felines. perhaps it was intuition or something, she did not care, but she could tell if someone was a cat turned human. that didn’t mean she spared them a second glance and she certainty didn’t appreciate being stopped by one. “do you know me?” she questioned in a neutral tone, ignoring his greeting.
