Imagine if Simon ended up on Erid, with mutations that gave him the ability to survive in the atmosphere outside the biodome. Imagine he has no idea that Grace is there, has no idea that the Eridians are friendly, and he's just scampering around on Erid, ducking out of sight whenever an Eridian gets close and trying to find new places to hide so he doesn't get eaten by what he assumes is more monsters.
