I WANT TO DIE
Thereâs NO WOMEN on the x files writerâs room AGAIN and Iâm so pissed off, I just⊠Iâm gonna write. Because thatâs what I hope to do some day, even if men like Carter donât want me to.
Dear Chris Carter,Â
 Women are powerful.
Iâm gonna say it twice, because you donât seem to understand. Women matter. I matter. Gillian Anderson matters. Dana Scully matters. Every single woman around the globe is important. I know you donât get it. Thatâs fine; let me explain.
A couple of months ago, I was watching a couple of interviews, and a lovely girl in a convention asked you about the character of Scully.Â
Oh, my dear Scully. Iâd die for a fictional character you created. Sheâs strong and fierce, while kind when necessary. A mother and a fighter. A believer and a scientist. A lover, yes. A feminist.
But your words described her as you own fantasy. The woman that reigns in your dreams. A strong female, but always classy and demure. And that answered The Question, the one thatâs been torturing me since I started watching your show.
So thatâs why you wouldnât let her be with Mulder.
Then I realized something. Scully wasnât a real woman, at least not at first. Scully was a shadow, that somehow scaped from your fantasy and came into the world. Scully is her own mother, and she had to fight like every single one of us to reach a respectable place in a world full of sexism.
She didnât do it alone. Gillian Anderson was her first companion, when she fought to get the same salary than her costar. She wouldnât be the last. Every woman that wanted to be a doctor, or a scientist against every prejudice the society had was a part of her. Not just them; every agent, cop. Every writer, journalist that wanted to know the truth. Every lawyer. Every artist.
Every single woman that had to fight male prejudices was somehow Scully. Thatâs how she scaped. Thatâs how she fought.
You shamed her sexuality because you didnât want her to be with Mulder. You wanted her pure. But then Gillian released her in All Things. So you kept writing like nothing happened.
Thatâs how it works to you. But your fantasy, the lovely girl of your dreams, is no longer yours. We freed her. We supported her. We fought on her side. She doesnât belong to you, Carter, not anymore. Your own creation is a sign of something you refuse to believe.
Sheâs not ours; sheâs us.
Thanks to her, Iâm here now, writing. Because thatâs what I wanna do, and she taught me to go for it. Thatâs how important fictional females are. Thatâs how important female writers are.
You seem to forget that women matter.
Thankfully, we live in a world that wonât let my little twelve-year-old cousin believe otherwise. We live in a world where my daughter will dream about being like Wonder Woman.
We live in a world were, thankfully, Dana Scully exists. And it doesnât matter how much you and your male coworkers try to control her. Because sheâs alive now.
And, fictional or not, women are powerful.
itâs like it doesnât matter because it would be good with and without women do you guys really need to spread yourselves in everything just to feel equal
@choppeddreamlandgladiator Theyâre literally are being sexist idiots. Like having a woman on staff will give us better episodes in S11. Being a woman (or a man) is not a qualification for getting staffed, nor should it be a qualification for getting HIRED. Anywhere. Writerâs roomsâand all of Hollywood, if weâre not being ideologicalâis a fucking MERITOCRACY. But a small contingent of this fan base constantly salivate in their tumblr echo-chamber that CC is sexist/disgusting/whatever/doesnât understand women matterâŠbecause he didnât hire any for S11. Or S10. And 9 fucking years before that. Yeah fuck him. Despite the fact we wouldnât even have Dana Scully or TXF if it werenât for Chris REEEEEEEEE!
@webelievethesamething Youâre wrong. GA says in her All Things commentary that she wasnât going to have the non-sex sex scene in her episodeâŠbut Kim Manners came to her and said âweâre thinking it would be good to hint that M&S slept together around this time in the season.â THATâs why we we have that scene. Because a bunch of MENNNNN in the writers room suggested it and she thought it would work.
Hi, both of you.
First of all, I wanted to ironically thank you both for keeping this debate respectful, since you didnât.
Second of all, @basedxphile, youâre wrong.Â
It SHOULD be a meritocracy, yes. But itâs not. If it were there would have been women at some point. The statistics of women x files writers only tells us that men are more likely to be hired, and thatâs what bothers me. You can ramble all you want, but saying that it is a real meritocracy only shows me that you do believe that men are better than women.
Just like @choppeddreamlandgladiator believe that women wanting to have jobs usually occupied by men so far is âspreading ourselves in everythingâ. Oh, and answering to your question, yes, we wanna be everywhere, because the world is also ours. Welcome to XXI century, buddy.
Now, back to the part where you say Iâm wrong, @basedxphile. Yes, youâre right there, I was mistaken. You werenât the only one to say so, so Iâm gonna make a correction. Actually, no, Iâm gonna specify it better.
Gillian Anderson didnât release Scully because she made her fuck with Mulder. She helped define Scullyâs character during the whole episode, talking about what made her who she was. She gave us a scope into her story weâd never had in any other episode.Â
So yeah, maybe she didnât came up with the bed scene, but what you donât understand is that I wasnât talking about just that. I was talking about everything, and the fact that you didnât realize is nothing but another proof that you donât see why we ask for female writers.Â
Weâre not saying male writers are bad. There are awesome pieces written by men. All we say is that there are some sexist aspects of the show that women could (and should) help with. And, of course, that they shouldnât be less likely to be hired just because theyâre women.
@webelievethesamethingâ Youâre making a LOT of assumptions.
âSecond of all, @basedxphile, youâre wrongâ LOL PROVE IT.Â
âIt SHOULD be a meritocracy, yes. But itâs not.â Ok, PROVE IT.Â
âIf it were there would have been women at some point.â ...Really? This is fact? Or is it your confirmation bias?
âThe statistics of women x files writers only tells us that men are more likely to be hired, and thatâs what bothers me.â Correlation does not equal causation. Youâre making an assumption based on ONE set of numbers. Â Â Â
â...but saying that it is a real meritocracy only shows me that you do believe that men are better than women.â Uh...how? How does saying writerâs rooms are meritocracies âshowâ that I believe men are better than women? Youâre making an assumption. Again. And P.S. your confirmation bias is showing.
*
âGillian Anderson didnât release Scully because she made her fuck with Mulder. She helped define Scullyâs character during the whole episode, talking about what made her who she was.â Yeah, and it was one of a few episodes--in a Sci-Fi series no less--to do so. Â
âSo yeah, maybe she didnât came up with the bed scene, but what you donât understand is that I wasnât talking about just that. I was talking about everything...â Your original paragraph speaks for itself. Go read it again. âYou shamed her sexuality,â âYou didnât want her to be with Mulder,â âyou wanted her pure,â âSo you kept writing like nothing happened.â...blah blah blah. Plus your entire post is VERY on the nose.Â
â...and the fact that you didnât realize is nothing but another proof that you donât see why we ask for female writers. Or maybe itâs proof youâre trying to save face and play it both ways.
*
âWeâre not saying male writers are bad. There are awesome pieces written by men. All we say is that there are some sexist aspects of the show that women could (and should) help with.â Most writers donât work their asses off to get in the room and play policeman. Thatâs for S&P. IMOP writing shouldnât be constrained by ideologies. Whoâs to say there shouldnât be some sexism or misandry?
âAnd, of course, that they shouldnât be less likely to be hired just because theyâre women.â Yeah they shouldnât. And thereâs a litany of entertainment attorneys on both coasts who would jump at the chance to sue the shit out of 21st Century Fox or CC. And a guild. Where are the lawsuits? Theyâve had since 1993.

Obstetric violence is institutional violence. Break the silence.
Iâve heard of some really fucked up forced birth malpractice of doctors. Sharing for awareness. This is more fucked up than circumscision. This is as fucked up as doctors returning your baby to you with a botched circumcision after you made it clear they are absolutely not to circumsize him (which yes, has also happened, which helps me to believe some doctors are fucked enough to do these things). Doesnât matter if youâre a feminist or not, this is a human rights issue by any standard. (I donât know anything about the organization advertising itself here, not endorsing or condemning it). Share for awareness. Medical treatment to requires consent, because the second it doesnt, some really fucked up shit is possible, orders of magnitude worse than even this.
âŠI have questions, now
This looks like some serious shit.
Holy fuckâŠ
I had no idea.
None of this is acceptable, and many of these womenâs right were violated. No woman can be forced into consenting to ANY medical procedure she doesnât want.
It just boggles my mind how this ISNâT already a thing O_O
It is where I liveÂ
Do you live in a place with a long history of race-based voter suppression, with a government electoral system that has multiple avenues for government to suppress the voting process? American voter identification laws bring with them the issue that it creates a central database where poll workers can find out who in their district fits certain parameters. Which means that the people most interested in voter suppression would be able to find out exactly which voters in their district they want to have voting, and which ones they want to keep from voting. Voter identification is a great-sounding idea in a vacuum, and for many nations itâs a great idea. But itâs not a good fit for America until we change other conditions first.
Just how corrupt is the USA? More importantly why the hell is the USA still allowed in organisations like NATO
A lot of people wouldnât be able to vote if photo ids were needed
All it does is make it harder for poor people to vote
How?Â
In order to get an ID, just an ID, I have to get to the DMV, which is in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, without a car. Then, itâs 35 dollars just for the ID
Oh wow. Yeah youâre right. And itâs only good for 4 years.
So basically, for less than 10 cents a month and 1 visit to the DMV you can get an ID.
Really?
Thatâs the hurdle youâre complaining about?
We cannot have a world where everyone is a victim. âIâm this way because my father made me this way. Iâm this way because my husband made me this way.â Yes, we are indeed formed by traumas that happen to us. But you must take charge, you must take over, you are responsible.

A Short Feministy Rant
I am really trying hard not to care who Gillian Anderson is dating because there are much more important aspects of her life to focus on (like her new book) but it seriously is getting harder and harder to imagine that Gillian âJust Wrote a Book Titled We: A Manifesto for Women Everywhereâ Anderson is dating Peter âCreator of a Show About The Queen of England that has No Female Writers or Directorsâ Morgan and not David âWears a Pussy Hat at Every Concert on His Most Recent Music Tourâ Duchovny.
And thats all I gotta say about that.
Anderson is dating Peter âCreator of a Show About The Queen of England that has No Female Writers or Directorsâ Morgan --- And? Does this make the show any less great? Itâs a pretty fucking fantastic show with a fan base and--GASP--some (non-ideological) critical acclaim!!!!Â
i think the pictures are staged but also that david knew about the whole thing beforehand.
Probably.
At the very least? She knew the paps were there when she was poolside & on her balcony. She practically SET THEM UP for perfect shots in the latter & she looked directly into the camera in the former--though this could have been on the way back from lunch.
One rapey old school chauvinist that is sticking around forever is Americaâs creepy uncle, Bill Clinton. When Trump brought out Bill Clintonâs victims, liberals all over the country rolled their eyes. Yes, it did nothing but make Trump look cruel and manipulative. But the point still stands that Bill is probably a rapist. Bill has been accused of rape publicly four times and many of the relationships he has had are with women much youngerâââand with less powerâââthan he. Bill Clinton is still freely greasing his way around the United States, âdicking bimbosâ as Colin Powel said in his recently leaked emails. Bill Clinton is a great example of a guy who, for whatever reason, the public has decided to ignore everything women who know him have said, and hold him up as cute teddy bear whose paw keeps sliding down your back. I remember being told at very early age that he was âcharming.â The problem with charming men is that when they assault a woman, no one believes her when she says she didnât want it. Itâs recently come out that Hillaryâs campaign gathered data and spent money and energy on discrediting his survivors. While I donât think wives are ever responsible for their husbands crimes of sexual assault, in any kind of relationship one is responsible for how one acts once the allegations come out. I refuse to be hurt by what Trump said, partly because I refuse feel anger or pain feel in response to Trump syphoned off to support a campaign run by a woman who would go out of her way to discredit other suffering women for her own gain.
No Point in Crying Over Pussygate -Genevieve Goffman (via johnbrownsbodyy)
AMEN.
How does it feel to be a fan of a porn star? Glad David isn't apart of that business... good luck PM...
âGillian consented to a sex act in public. CONSENTEDâŠbut the photographer is at fault because they took her picture while she was engaging in this act.â â- Nope. First part is an assumption. Do we really know she consented to Peter grabbing her by the pussyâor whatever? No, we donât. But fine. Letâs assume youâre correct and she wanted it. The second part is bullshit. Thereâs no expectation of privacy in public and the courts in the have reinforced this numerous times. No oneâs to blame but GA and fish sticks.
âTolerantâ liberals have lost their minds

Really hope the fandom can move fwd regardless of wot u believe. All this political debate is bringing out ugly side in the big world & miss the fun here. Just saw some idiot tweeted under DDs March tweet a pic of west in swimsuit (think from a SM acct) implying poor values. And we know he checks Twitter. Sometimes ppl are just shitty
Oh my fucking god! Iâve just checked, and itâs the first answer on his tweet. I feel for him, because I know heâll see it, and I feel like itâs the worst thing that could happen to him on social media. Posting a picture of his daughterâs ass and questioning his fatherhood abilities. Heâll probably be devastated. On the other hand, I canât shut down the voices in my head saying it had to happen. I try not to be too judgmental with people I donât know, but if Iâm being honest, Iâve started to feel really uncomfortable with Westâs IG. Not because of the stalking, I donât care about that, but because her pics have started to be slightly inappropriate for a minor. Yes, sheâs gorgeous and beautiful, but sheâs 17. So somehow, I hope itâs a lesson and their parents make her switch her account private (even if Iâll miss it for the good source of info it is lol).Poor DavidâŠCan we start a campaign to report this tweet and make it remove while David is still sleeping?
The tweet might be unsavory to some, but itâs not harassment. Itâs an opinion. At most, a copyright issue. Donât feel bad for David--Iâm sure he doesnât give a fuck about twitter.
Since weâre getting so many questions Iâm going to sum it up. We definitely believe theyâre in love. Itâs a completely different story if we think they have a chance at making it work now. We heard so much about them making it work, how much they were seeing each other, etc that we really thought they were finally getting it right. There was a lot there to believe it. Yes, we are now straight up saying theyâve had those feelings for years now. The rumors are true about them in that sense. Thatâs what we have heard. We never wanted to say it on the blog because it seemed the direction David and Gillian wanted to go was in the âit happened in recent yearsâ direction. David and Gillian will never be just fuck buddies. Their history is beyond something as basic. Weâre just saying regardless what could happen theyâll never be âoverâ. Why are we saying it now? Because now we donât give a fuck anymore. Weâre over it. Weâre not going to spill everything we know about them but weâre telling you where we stand on the two.
The answer about whether a wall should or shouldnât be built is right there in the math
