The current status of Tumblr.

About 2 months ago, I stumbled onto child pornographers on tumblr. It came up on my dash and I couldn’t believe it. I immediately unfollowed the user and reported the blog to Tumblr itself.

They emailed me that they had received the report and were working on it. I communicated with them on a daily basis asking why the blog was still up and what they were doing. It was almost TWO WEEKS before anything was done about it.

Im not surprised this is happening, and I’ve lost quite a lot of faith in the site. I run two blogs right now, this one, and @Somecutething which has now been flagged as NSFW. Which doesn’t make any sense because it’s a cute animal blog.

If I find anything, ANYTHING with Child pornography on it I’m not relying on Tumblr Staff anymore to take it down, I will report it straight to NCMEC or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They’ll actually make sure that something is done.

White House Pets #2 - Socks Clinton

Socks was adopted by the Clintons after he jumped into Chelsea Clinton’s arms as she left her piano teacher’s house in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He became First Cat of the United States in 1993, and kept the title until 1997 when the Clinton’s adopted a dog named Buddy and he took over the role of First Pet.

Socks and Buddy did not get along, Bill Clinton was quoted as saying

“I did better with … the Palestinians and the Israelis than I’ve done with Socks and Buddy.“

When the Clinton’s left the White House they left Socks in the care of Bill’s secretary Betty Currie.

I got this message today, and my heart broke for the family surrounding this dog. They need our help!! Read the story here:

On Thursday of last week our 3 year old Bernese Mountain Dog, Rolo, fell down the stairs and suffered from swelling near his spinal cord leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. He is under strict monitoring to save his life, and the vets explain that he can make a full recovery. Unfortunately, his strict care is very expensive and it could take weeks to months. We are running out of money to keep him alive while he recovers. Our worst fear is having to put him down because we simply cannot afford to pay his bills.
