Hi!! This is mod Red/Aleks - I run silentchamp. I just want to let it be known that this event might run a tad more slowly than usual in the coming days...we’re both dealing with a bunch of things out in the real world, and this is putting a bit of a work load on the both of us.
However, we still want this event to be complete! Don’t panic! Things just might be a bit slower than usual....

Q: Are Mega-evolves, Z-moves, or Dynamaxing allowed?
A: Mega-evolves and Z-moves are because they’re a give-and-take sort of thing - tons of destructive damage while sacrificing things like left overs, berries, etc. Dynamaxing is not, on the other hand, because the Battle Tree isn’t a power spot!

Your first challenge will be to defeat Battle Rank One Opponents, Plat (@lcdyberlitz) & Fabien (@imbicilite)!
To refresh you on the battle rules for the first three rankings:
1. Battles will consist of full teams of 6 pokemon, with the exception of the last three ranks. 2. No items allowed. 3. No legendaries or mythical pokemon, only standard pokemon - think of what would be allowed in the actual Battle Tree! 4. Levels are enabled, and the Battle Tree gets progressively harder, with Red and Green’s pokemon at the top hitting the cap, Lvl 100. 5. Challengers will have breaks between each fight, which will allow for their pokemon to be fully healed and fully taken care of, as well as allowing themselves a break. 6. You can decide who wins however you’d like - Showdown, through threads, through just talking it out, etc...Whatever you’d like! Problem is though, I still haven’t figured out if there’s a way to do any of this on Showdown. Have any other questions? Let us know, whether through asks or through the discord server!

Q: How long will sign-ups be open?
A: As long as it’s needed for a proper amount of participants, honestly! I’d prefer to have as much time possible for the event, but if turnabout isn’t that big, we can always just go directly to the Battle Tree Challenge. It’s up to what everyone wants, mostly!

Q: What if we don’t have a partner but want to participate?
A: You can sign up as single trainer and later be matched, or you can alternatively double battle using two sets of pokemon! After all, we don’t wanna exclude anyone from this event!

Q: How will winners be determined in battle? Showdown? Decided beforehand? Battle threads?
A: Simply put, it varies from battle to battle! Some people like to go with the flow and decide who wins in the heat of the moment - some people like to decide it beforehand - and some people simply like to forgo it and either 1. duke it out on showdown or 2. just announce the results. It all depends on what the four people battling agree on!

Q: Are blogs allowed to have Pokemon Muses as partners/are Pokemon in general allowed in the competition?
A: Yes, they are! The disadvantage is that the pokemon will have less pokemon in turn, since it’d be pretty hard to give a Caterpie a 6-pokemon team!

Stella and Jitters are having a wonderful time decorating the Battle Tree, the little Sableye himself wearing a pink bandanna decorated with little heart-shaped crystals. In fact, Stella’s putting decals of similar crystal hearts all up where she can reach, lifting up her pokemon to come help as well.

Q: Does the event have a general tag?
A: After a bit of fiddling around with Tumblr's chaotic tag system and the glitches, the tag has been fixed to #BattleTreeValentines, since spaces in tags have been weird for mobile and sometimes for desktop posts. Other event tags include:
#BattleTreeDecorating (For the Decoration dash posts)
#BattleTreeOpponents (For introductions of the different ranking opponents participants will fight)
#BTVInfo (For extra information on the event itself and whatever else you may want to know about it. The #faq tag can also be utilized for this!)

【 藤 】 Yuusaku wasn’t sure what he DISLIKED more about this whole ordeal — the fact that Ai had somehow managed to sign him up as a volunteer without him realizing it, or how PINK the surroundings were. Then again, color preferences were a personal choice; he couldn’t truly blame the event for oncoming signs of a HEADACHE that he was already starting to feel from looking at the pastel colors for too long.
Ai really was too smart of a Sableye if he could learn how to write the human language and fill out an application form. Speaking of… It didn’t take Yuusaku too long to locate his companion Pokemon, and he SIGHED upon realizing just where the little cretin scampered off to.
❝ Ai, don’t you dare climb that tree! You’ll mess up the decorations! ❞ Now he has to go stop his Sableye from attempting to scale the Battle Tree in order to place an “angel” on the topmost branch.
【 妖精 】 It was RATHER STRANGE, in his opinion, to have a tree up for Valentine’s Day. Weren’t such trees a Mewmas tradition? Whatever the reason may be, he wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to add his own FLARE to the Battle Tree in terms of decor.
There was so much pink and red on this tree, but what about a few strings of LAVENDER LIGHTS? Purple did compliment the other two colors so well, if you ask him!
Want to match with your duo? Don't know what to wear? One of our very dedicated Event Coordinators, @tundra-trainer, spent the whole time getting these lovey dovey luvdisc-themed uniforms ready! While there is no dress code, we sure don't discourage getting fancy!

Maro’s fingers were red, sores and small blisters covering his hands as they had been working all through the night. A wide smile on his face as he makes one last stitch and closes the loop, then hangs the final two piece outfit on the nearest hanger piece. One of at *least* 60 outfits kept in a small bit of sunlight from the window.
Pausing, he took a moment to lean back and stretch, before getting up and opening the shed near the battle tree hosting the event. “I have finished making matching outfit for battle friends! Maro can help with the decorating now! ” he calls out, and moves to grab some of the pink and white streamers, to join in on the fun!
