hey his might sound dumb but i recently fell down the battle royale hole but now i am wondering what happened to koushun takami. is battle royale really the only thing he's published? has he given up on writing?? im asking you because you are the first sort of active BR blog i have found yet

Hey, no problem! I'm happy to answer any ask!

Since Battle Royale, Koushun Takami hasn't written another book. If I recall correctly, he teased at another book a long time ago, but nothing Battle Royale related. He seems pretty tired of even talking about it at this point so I wouldn't be surprised if he's just living quietly somewhere on the royalties. There's also a theory that he possibly went back into journalism but no confirmation on that. So unfortunately, I really don't know the answer either!

Yoshitoki has always been with me. It doesn’t matter how trivial our experiences were. What about the time we played in the river and I saved him from drowning? Or when we got our kicks collecting tons of grasshoppers and stuffing them into a small box, and how they died as a result? We both felt really bad about that. Or when we fought for that dog Eddie’s attention? Or when we pulled a prank in school and ended up hiding in the faculty room attic? We almost got caught, but after we managed to escape, we had a good laugh…

 Yoshitoki and I were always together. It was a fact. He was with me.

Yutaka stared at him for a while, then his teary face formed a slight smile. Maybe he was thinking this could be his way of properly honoring her in death, now that flowers weren’t going to be possible.
