this might just be my niche but... i think gnosticism would have gone SO well with the themes addressed in supernatural, like free will and the fight against your predetermined destiny?? hell yea. the way chuck was presented really reminds me of the gnostic demiurge. the way he's shown to be a petty and egotistical being, even though everyone expected him to be this all-loving creator. plus the gnostic idea of archons could have explained the constant scheming of the angels and their hunger for power
