Off-Broadway’s newest gem is Bill W and Dr. Bob, which opened last week at the SoHo Playhouse. The true story of the two men who founded Alcoholics Anonymous, it’s “an endearing portrait of friendship uplifted by warm humor,” according to the New Yorker. The story begins in 1929, with two different men from New York and Ohio struggling with alcoholism during the Depression. Then, in 1935, Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith are brought together, and they begin to help keep each other sober, also passing their knowledge on to others. “The story goes beyond the lives of the two men and their wives and looks at how communities come together to heal themselves and find direction and purpose that can help millions,” says the website, and it couldn’t be truer.
The show plays Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7 PM, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM, Wednesday matinees at 2:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 PM. The Soho Playhouse is located at 15 Vandam Street in New York, New York. For 30% off tickets for shows before August 4, go to http://bit.ly/1dC5t4b.

Twitter users are the least literate on social media with 1 in every 179 words either misspelled or made up (YOLO, anyone?), according to Brandwatch’s study of nearly one million randomly selected interactions across Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, and other online forums over the past three years. The study did acknowledge that the character limit on Twitter could affect the literacy of its users. Click the image to see the full infographic and to read more from the study.
