Books & Nails: Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats
Book: Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot
Well, this is a book that needs very little introduction. Old Possum is the source material for the insanely popular musical Cats, and is written by T. S. Eliot, one of the 20th Centruy's most important British poets. Words cannot describe how much I love this book. My late mother would read it to me when I was small, and I love cats! I wasn't even going to include this book in my blog, because I'm sure everyone has a copy (it's an essential, like the Dictionary, right?) but after I finished up my tiger stripe/leopard spot nails last night, I realised that they were inspired by my favourite Old Possum poem, The Gumbie Cat!
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots;
Her coat is of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots.
And I thought, well, I have to share this! T. S. Eliot-inspired nail art!
But what does my cat, Alan, think of them...?
I think he likes them! Don't worry, this is not going to become a blog about my cat. Mainly because he usually tries to eat the camera, and also because I wholeheartedly accept that some people aren't as into him as I am (the fools!) And also, I obviously waited until the next day, when my nails were totally dry, before exposing Alan's delicate little nose to them. I'm not a monster!
Nails: One of my favourite looks yet! Barry M Neon Nail Paint in Block Orange (over a base coat of Color Club Paris White for intensity of colour) with stamping in (you guessed it...) Eyeko Vamp polish (discontinued) from Konad plate M57. RAWRRRR!
NB: I featured this post on an old blog of mine a few months back.
