there are several very good reasons as to why super creek constantly acts like a mother figure to literally everyone in her life. the game doesn’t exactly spell it out but it’s certainly not subtle about it either.

her motherly nature isn’t just a personality quirk or something she does for fun, it’s a part of her and it probably has been for a long, long time. she was forced to grow up far too quickly, she feels she isn’t allowed to do anything for herself, or even take care of herself. she feels immense guilt for making others worry to the point where after the sumire stakes, as she’s literally panting and wheezing, she still tries to downplay the severity of her illness and scolds herself for making you worry.

she is always putting others above herself to the point where it seems like she hasn’t even considered putting herself and her needs first to be an option. it’s clear that caring for others is the most important thing to her, and yet she feels this behaviour comes from a place of pure selfishness, so even the one thing that makes her feel happy and wanted, she can’t enjoy guilt free. the one thing that makes her feel happy, and yet it can also have detrimental effects on her mood, health, and overall wellbeing.

she’s extremely perceptive and intelligent, she knows her behaviour is off putting, that her relationship with her trainer is abnormal and something that others look down on, that in trying to strengthen her bond with others, she sometimes ends up pushing them away, but she literally can’t help herself. that’s just who she is.

i just love her so damn much and it kills me to see people constantly reduce her to nothing but a joke that misses the entire point of her story.
