I haven't given an update in a while on my G1 pony collection, nor do I know if anyone was expecting one, but here it is. Da dunn! The pony tower!

Over the past few months I've been casually both reclaiming ponies from my youth and picking up some new ones I wanted but never got to have, with the goal of someday owning every G1 pegasus. After debating for a while how to store them, I bought a revolving bookcase to put in my living room work space. It's a great conversation piece, and I can look at them while I'm doing translation work, twirl them around to change the scenery every so often, play with their hair if I need to haha...

Then, for Christmas, I gifted myself my ultimate holy grail.

Starglow! A pony I had as a child but got rid of at some point along the way. I got rid of my ponies slowly over time, as if to wean myself off them for more "adult" things (what a fool I was) and I actually have a vague memory of the day I decided to part with her. She's now one of the more expensive ponies you can buy (that isn't like mail order or Mimic). And she came with what I think was her original brush too! Her hair is kinda scraggly, but when I condition her she'll be PERFECT.

Taking her out of the box was pretty emotional. I hugged her like, where have you been? I'm so sorry. I'll never abandon you again.

Even though the chances that she is my same childhood pony are astronomically low, at the same time I also have no proof that she's not, so she might as well be.

Same with Star Hopper behind her, the sparkly unicorn, who was another childhood favorite I abandoned somewhere along the way. She was the leader of my herd when I was a child, and my collection didn't feel right without her. I'm sorry Star Hopper, I'm glad you're back.
