- Main blog of @dawn_ch0rus in the Sonic Fankid Showdown - MLM genderfluid guy - I reblog memes and fanart here. I often rb adult jokes, pls filter #nsft if you’re uncomfortable with that - Current main interests: Sonic, UT/DR
Hi! I’m Chips, I’m a bi trans guy, my pronouns are he/him, and I mostly just reblog memes and fanart here. This blog is like 5 years old and I’m only just bothering to make an intro post. I’m usually multifandom but if a particular fandom takes my brain hostage it could seem like all I interact with for a while.
Pls also follow my art/writing account: @dawn-ch0rus
I’m an adult (only been one for a short while so I’m still not very good at it yet), idc about minors following/interacting but please be aware I reblog suggestive/NSFW jokes sometimes (I don’t reblog explicit writing or imagery tho). I try to remember to tag these so please block the tag #nsft if you’re uncomfortable with that, and I also try to remember to tag most common triggers with “#[trigger] tw” or “#[trigger] warning” (i.e. blood, eyestrain, slurs, etc), but I’m not infallible and I forget to tag things sometimes.
My main interests and side blogs are under the cut
My main interests rn are:
Sonic the Hedgehog (the brainrot is severe, these technicolour animals have had me in a chokehold for months). I’m mostly the mainline universe (the games and IDW comics), though I’m also a fan of the live-action movies and the Sonic Boom TV show. Shadow is the Ultimate Blorbo, he can do no wrong (except all those times he did but no he didn’t ❤️)
The Invincible TV show (haven’t read the comics yet, unsure if I’ll read past where the show’s adapted up to until season 4’s out). My fav character is Rex but I’m also partial to Amber and I love Rudy in a “I want to stuff him in a Pringle can and throw it down a set of stairs” kind of way
Monster Prom. My fav love interests in Prom, Camp, and Con are Vera, Aaravi, and Omen respectively; make whatever assumptions you will about me based on that
I’m not actively into Pokémon, Spider-Man, or Invader Zim rn but they’re always sort of lying dormant in the back of my head, waiting to be reawakened and occasionally possessing me to trawl the tags
Sometimes other more minor of my interests might catch my attention and make me go on a reblogging spree so be warned
Here are my other blogs:
@dawn-ch0rus - My art/writing account, though I’m only gonna be posting Sonic stuff for a while. Mostly dedicated to my fankid AU (the blog’s even named after it) but I might post other OCs or art/writing of just canon characters sometimes
@your-fav-is-dead and @yourfavsabitchassmfer - Gimmick blogs that I haven’t used in about 3 years but I might revive one day
@incorrect-spiderbros - An incorrect quotes blog from my MCU hyperfixation that I almost definitely won’t revive but I’m gonna @ anyway as a time capsule
HAPPY TRANSGENDER VISIBILITY DAY!!! To honor today, I decided to redraw something I drew last year now that I actually know how to draw Sonic characters/use procreate. Transfem Metal Sonic my beloved, look at her go!
I love you trans people and even if it's just one day of visibility, I see you always and I hope that you have a wonderful life ahead of you. Supporting my wonderful trans brothers sisters and everything neither both or inbetween <3 🏳⚧
almost unfollowed u for the last post (i don't care abt 9/11 jokes, i just care if they're funny) but then i recognized ur username. my blade has been stilled by the regard i hold for u
Okay now that gets interesting and I would want to actually ask a rabbi whether that would be a thing. like, if one must consume the blood of living things to survive, does it make a difference whether one limits it to the blood of kosher animals or not. I could see it being ruled either way. (I would think if there is only one type of blood one can metabolize or if only one type of blood is available, one can consume it regardless.)
I remember learning that human blood (not sure about animal blood) is permissible to consume if it has not been “poresh” (”separated”) from the body (in the context of “if you cut your lip or your finger and immediately and instinctively put it in your mouth, you don’t have to spit out the blood”).
So
Drinking blood out of a goblet or vacuum-sealed bag would be assur, but sinking your teeth into someone and drinking directly (so that the blood never touches the air or is in a vessel) would be okay.
Okay, so I asked my rabbi about this (… yes, my actual rabbi). Short answer, @fenrisesque, is that the ideal situation is for the vampire to intravenously ingest blood that was donated by a human in order to stay alive, assuming that donation doesn’t kill the person. If homemade intravenously doesn’t work, then storebought oral ingestion is fine too. This applies whether or not the vampire can drink animal blood. Long answer, which I find fascinating but is long so under a cut:
I humbly suggest that true crime freaks should get into learning about scammers instead of serial killers. I LOVE reading about fraud and grifts and pyramid schemes. true crime ppl have all this paranoid energy about murder, which is rare in the grand scheme of things.....maybe instead that could be channeled into some productive rage toward capitalism.
And u know a side effect of learning about scam artists is that you start to understand certain things about economics, and just how STUPID these systems are and how easily they are taken advantage of....and I'd much rather people gained a passing familiarity with economics than whatever armchair psychologist shit these true crimers get on. We need fewer people who think they're experts on "sociopaths" and more people who understand how people like Elizabeth Holmes and the WeWork guy were able to do what they did
Here are some of my favorite books about financial scams:
The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust by Diana B. Henriques.
The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine by Michael Lewis (about the 2008 stock market collapse).
The Caesar's Palace Coup: How a Billionaire Brawl Over the Famous Casino Exposed the Corruption of the Private Equity Industry by Max Frumes and Sujeet Indap. (I admit I've never finished this one; the writing is hard to read.)
The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute, by Zac Bissonette. I bought this book because of the subtitle and I have never regretted it. You must read it.
Catch Me If You Can by Frank Abagnale. They turned this one into a movie! The book was very different and is worth reading.
The Cult of We: WeWork, Adam Neumann, and the Great Startup Delusion, by Elliot Brown and Maureen Farrell. I haven't read this one yet, but it's on my tbr pile!
Opus: The Cult of Dark Money, Human Trafficking, and Right-Wing Conspiracy Inside the Catholic Church, by Gareth Gore. I'm reading this one right now. The author is a financial journalist who stumbled onto this story by unraveling a bank failure in Spain.
And here's a list of more non-fiction books about fraud and financial scams. The first book on this list is about Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes, which I also haven't read yet.
Can everyone who makes video content do a Deaf bitch a favor? Watch your shit with the captions on and the sound off, and then do another round of editing to fix things including but not limited to:
Captions cover the spot on the screen you put the information I need
The dialogue is captioned but not the song you have playing that the dialogue is responding to
You only captioned the person on the screen, not the person off screen who is also talking
No captioning of critical sound effects (alarms, bells, dogs barking, etc)
Speakers are not labelled at moments where it is not clear on the screen who is talking.
Captions cover the spot on the screen that you put the information I need!
Other d/Deaf people welcome to add.
This post brought to you by the fifth video tutorial I could not follow because the bad, auto-generated captions covered what I was trying to watch today.
