Rest in Peace, Akira Toriyama.
I feel almost silly for being so devastated by the news of the passing of a man I've never met in real life, but there is no quantifiable way I can explain how much Dragon Ball meant to me as I grew up, how it defined me, gave me confidence, helped me when I was down, how it was silly, and terrifying, and exciting, and emotional. How it made me want to be better.
I could talk at lenghts about what a true master of his craft he was, how he revolutionized manga, how few pieces of media could claim to have hit like a meteor and change the landscape as his works did...but none of that is what matters to me.
What matters is that a young argentinian boy would come home from a tough day in school and be cheered up by Dragon Ball Z. That smile he'd put on my face was one of millions. And for that I'll always be thankful.
Gracias por todo Akira Toriyama, fuiste un angel.
Descansa en paz.

âHe was my everythingâ: Boy who drowned in Brookings pond remembered for smile, generosity
The body of Molu Zarpeleh, 10, who was reported missing last Thursday night, was recovered from a privately-owned retention pond along 12th Street South around 8:40 a.m. Friday after authorities searched the pond, according to a new release from the City of Brookings.
A tip that Zarpeleh had been pushed into the pond that circulated on social media has been redacted by the tipster, said Chelsea Bakken, public information officer for the City of Brookings. Investigators also reported that tips they received Friday related to circumstances surrounding the incident were not true but wonât state why. Police are ignoring it and ruling it an âaccidental drowning but his mother says differently.Â
âA 10-year-old boy would not just take his sandals off and walk into the water,â she said. âHe didnât know how to swim.â
Brookings police and the Brookings Fire Department searched for Zarpeleh until about 2:30 a.m. Friday before the search was stopped due to safety concerns, poor lighting and murky water, the release states. Searchers used pumps from Brookings Municipal Utilities and Brookings County to remove about 300,000 gallons of water from the pond during the resumed search Friday morning
âMolu died, but I canât say âwasâ yet,â Mole said. âHeâs my first child. Heâs my only son. I donât want to use the word âwas.â I canât imagine him not living.â

Police officers shoot and kill Kid in Los Angeles: âHe ran because he was scaredâ
Andrew Heney, owner of the Freeway autoshop, told a local CBS affiliate: âWe had a security guard that was out front, because we had just had certain issues with people tagging and stuff like that.â
âAnd then the police came up, and they pulled their guns on him and he ran because he was scared, and they shot and killed him. Heâs got a clean background and everything. Thereâs no reason.â
The sheriffâs department are claiming Andres Gyuardado had a gun but the autoshop owner and witness to the shooting says thatâs absolutely not true he never carried a weapon and didnât that night.
Whatâs even worse is that right after the shooting, the Store owner said the cops immediately destroyed all the surrounding security cameras, broke into the store, stole his DVR with the recordings, and then created an illegal warrant after doing all this.Â
The shop owner also states he never called the police and doesnât understand because âThere was no reason for them to be there.â
