A Scarred Heart Leo X Amy
“You just don’t understand! You won’t get how I feel!”
“We both started out in the same place Leo! You can come back from this I know you can!”
Those words echoed in a young female mutant turtles head as she ran across the rooftops with tears streaming down her face. Her heart was begging to stop for rest and her legs were on fire from the speeds she was running. She had ran after being treated for an injury completely broken and hurt over what just happened and after witnessing something down at the docks, she felt like her world was falling into darkness.
Watching him leave was the hardest as she saw her soulmate leave the city she had called home after finding her sister from traveling all the way from Kenya. Seeing him fade away on the sea had punctured a hole in her heart like as if her own spear had stabbed her with heartbreak and sadness.
Now after the devastating attack on their lair after the Foot Clan had found them, she felt like her own world around her began to crumple as if she was reliving what had happened on the night she had lost, her father, her daughter, her clan and her name. But now Amy was struggling to keep herself together as she waited with her father Master Splinter and her brother Don while Raph, her sisters Stella, Beth and Hannah were on the look out for any signs of Mikey and Klunk. She just kept staring out into the open ocean, thinking that any given moment her love would be returning. But all that greeted her was the silence of the night and no sign of a boat returning to port. She looked down at the henna that was tattooed into her arm and looked at the one she had made for him to honor how she and him were meant to be and the thought she might never see him again haunted her mind as tears slowly rolled down her cheeks and landed on her symbol of love for Leonardo. “Amy?”, Don asked, coming up behind her before sitting down
“I could of saved him, I could of helped him”, she said, beginning to cry “If he had not gotten stabbed by that monster of a woman, then I wouldn’t have to lose someone I love so much”
He had looked at his sister with concern and he had brought her into a hug that was caring. “There wasn’t anything you could of done to stop it”, he said, as she hugged him tightly back letting her pain, sadness, and fear escape her body “It just happened too quickly”
“I tried so hard to get him back and I felt like everything I did wasn’t good enough to help him and it was like he was gone and wasn’t he man I fell in love with, but someone completely different”, she said “The way he looked at me when he attacked I was so lost on what he has become”
The attack she remembered so well as she and him were fighting swords against spears, as she tried to get him to see clearly after that battle and each move only seemed to increase his anger and hostileness and her fear began to surface. “You will never understand! When are you going to wise up and realize you are just a weak and scared girl!”, he yelled as his sword slashed across her chest causing her red dress and parts of her bead necklaces to scatter and torn
Her chest clench as she could just still feel the feeling of the sharp blade cut her open and blood slowly seeped out. The tears had came down her face and she was now only afraid of him, how she didn’t want to. She had to be and was. Tears just rolled down her face as she shook in fear as everyone had surrounded her and she was rushed away not even daring to look back at him. She had looked down at her chest removing part of her newly stitched dress to see the scar was across her body. She knew it was a reminder of that tragic night. “We were scared too Amy, I know this isn’t what he is at all and I know he would never want to hurt you like that”, Don said, as she pulled away sounding serious
“To him I am just weak”, she said, shaking her head in denial “Maybe he was right about me”
“Don’t ever say that! He was….he was not there….and he was just lost”, he said “I know you mean a lot to him and I know he will be different when he comes home”
“What if he doesn’t?!”, she said, snapping in anger before softly speaking “What if this consumed him forever and he will never be the same as he was and I can’t live like that. I have lost too much……my father, my daughter, my clan and my name. I can’t lose the one I love too.”
Don took his sisters hand tightly. “Believe Amy, believe in him, as he would believe in you”, he said
She looked at her brother before looking down as he stayed with his sister hugging her close with his arm. After a few hours Hannah and Beth had returned with Mikey in tow with Klunk in his arms. Luckily they didn’t look hurt after the invasion. “Mikey! Thank god!”, Amy said, running up to her brother as they embraced
“Amy are you okay?”, he asked, looking at her concerned
Her green skin looked pale and her eyes were red from crying behind her golden colored mask. “As long as everyone is alright that is all that matters right now”, she said, softly
“We found something”, Hannah, her little sister, said as she stepped forward holding something in her hands
She had handed her a woven bracelet with his colors, green, brown and blue woven into zig zag patterns. She had given to him as a gift when he had protected her throughout their missions together to honor his bravery and courage. “It was in the rubble outside the lair, we only found that so far”, Beth said “We wanted to wait till it was clear”
“Thank you…”, she said, softly as the tears began to pool in her eyes once more
“Amy?”, Stella said, as she reached for her sister
But she pulled away as she began to walk slowly away as the door to the hide out opened. “Hey guys you wouldn’t believe who I found!”, Raph called out
Soft footsteps could be heard as soft gasps could be heard. “Amy?”, a familiar voice filled her ears
She suddenly stopped dead in her tracks almost too afraid to move. Her heart began to ache and her knees threatened to buckle from under her weight. But she gathered up her courage and slowly turned and there standing in front of her was Leonardo. She gulped silently and was not able to speak as she stood there with his bracelet shaking in her hands. But instead of seeing the dark man she had seen only just a week ago familiar settings began to come. The look in his brown eyes seem to have lost that angry fire and it was that calm and gentle, like she saw them before. His body language seemed inviting and not ready to strike at the slightest provocation. “Leo?”, she asked, hopefully
She could see his eyes were starting to pool of tears and his facial expression turned from calm to remorse and sadness. “Amy..”, he said, beginning to speed walk towards her with his voice beginning to crack
It was true, her old soulmate was back and this time for good. “Leo!”, she said, beginning to run to him
He began to breakdown as he collapsed on his knees bringing her into the tightest of embraces. Her arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders and shell as her face buried into the crook of his neck, taking in his scent that she had desperately missed so much. His whole body began to shake as he cried softly burying her into him, never wanting to let her go. All that time of anger, hurt, and heartbreak that he had did to her he wanted to make up for it so badly that he never wanted her to feel like she did ever again. “Amy I am so sorry”, he said, kissing her forehead softly as she could hear the steady heartbeat of him fill her ears
It was such a relief to be feeling that same feeling she had come to love was now coming back. Her soulmate has returned. She looked up at him with a loving smile as she dried away his tears and carefully stroked his cheeks were her hands making him slowly start to smile too. Before he knew it, she slapped across the cheek making even everyone gasp in surprise. “That’s for snapping at me and leaving!”, she said, with a stern look
He held his cheek in shock that she would even do that but her stern angry look was replaced with love. “But this is for coming back and saying sorry”, she said, pulling him by the shoulders bringing him into a deep loving kiss
He moaned softly and they hugged each other tightly as her sisters awed at the sweet moment. The kiss lasted a few moments before he chuckled softly and smiled. “You are still that same stubborn but beautiful strong girl that I love”, he said
“You are even more stubborn”, she said, shaking her head with a giggle as he pulled her to him bringing her into another kiss and hug
Later on in the night with everyone resting and figuring out on what to do next. Amy was sound asleep as she then felt weight come up behind her and she felt warm arms bring her on her other side to see Leo giving her head a kiss. “Hey you”, she said, softly stroking his cheek
“Hey beautiful, I thought about you everyday ever since I had left and I want you to know that I never meant to hurt you and I regretted every moment that I did to you, I only was thinking about myself and was blinded by my rage after everything and I am so sorry”, he said, looking very apologetic in his eyes and frown
“Shhhhh”, she said, hushing him softly “This isn’t your fault, I understand you were very angry about what happened and it felt like such a loss to you but you didn’t lose anything, we all made it and even though you lost part of your shell I can heal it to where it can be the same”
He slowly smiled as she kissed him. “I would be honored if you can do that but not tonight, I just want to be with you”, he said, softly
“I still have your bracelet it survived the blast, did you still want it back?”, she asked
He smiled brightly. “Of course I do”, he said
She smiled and she slid it off her wrist and she carefully tied it back around his wrist to where she had it placed before. The pure love in their eyes began to show as he stroked her temple and cheek delicately making her body shiver as tugged on his chest strap to bring him into a deep passionate kiss. Soon it began to become very heated and hands began to roam around each others bodies. He pulled away for a moment as he looked on towards his sleeping siblings and father. “They won’t wake up”, she said, sounding reassuring
He believed her and he slowly turned off the gas lit lamp making it become dark as they continued on with their kiss. With him grabbing handfuls of her dress pulling it up and her untying his eye mask. A love was now reunited and now can repair the damages to become something beautiful and strong once again.
