hi
Pretty crazy how wind is invisible yet sporadically says hello through moving objects
Happy pride to black trans people in particular I know it can be tough out here with how often the image of what and who counts as always seems to never consider us

it is impossible to watch a movie. every night i think i want to watch a movie. no movie gets watched. because it's not possible
and yet they keep making movies with the hopes that one day humanity will discover a way to watch them. it's so inspiring

in happier pride news i actually found this deeply heartwarming
that's solidarity baybeeee
Further context: Durham city council (Reform UK) cut funding and support for Pride. The Durham Miner's Association and other trade unions raised enough money for Durham Pride 2026 to go ahead - a direct call back to when Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) raised money for mining communities when Margaret Thatcher seized union funding during the miner strikes of 1984-85.
At the 1985 Labour party meet, the motion to support LGBT rights as a party was passed due to a block vote from mining unions.
Stephen Guy, the chair of the Durham Miners’ Association, said that when it became apparent Durham Pride was under threat, he took it upon himself to “encourage the trade union movement to step up and do the right thing, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT+ community […] They not only raised funds for us, but came to our communities, uplifted our spirits when they were down, and showed their solidarity.”
LGSM helped us when our families were literally starving; now it was our turn to help them financially in return. 41 years later, I got the chance to help the same organisation that kept my family alive so I could even be born.
Miner and Miner families don't forget their own, especially when they are Queer to!
Also huge shout out to LAPC (Lesbians Against Pit Closure) a splinter group of LGSM as they provided the money to the Rhodisia Women’s Action Group in Worksop. It was only thanks to LAPC that there was money to buy the baby formulae that kept my older sibnlings alive.
Once again, the mines may be gone, but we remember!
