its kind of distressing how you can tell a lot of people see popular indie artists and writers and such as like "a Celebrity but one which i stand a half decent chance of bullying to death"
#I've been watching four different iterations of this going down this past month#and the pattern is always the same#I get that people feel powerless in their own lives and have all this despair and anger with no outlet#but it's just wild to see this stuff spread by aspiring creatives#because it's like. what do you think will happen to you?? if you reach the top of the bucket?#not even taking into mind the professional bridges being burnt by flaming your potential peers#(because people in animation/writing/game development know each other and keep an eye on this type of thing)#but you're stoking the exact same flames that will burn you if you ever find yourself lucky enough to have success#you are not free of sin. no one is. there will always be some clumsy stupid thing you said or some unintentional subtext in your work#or some tweet from eight years ago or video clip that you've since apologized for#there's always something. and when it happens you won't handle yourself any better than the e-celeb you're making fun of. I promise.#ANYWAY very self-indulgent rant so apologies for that
