How to handle ur background characters ⟡ ݁₊ .!
if someone hates you, congratulations you're doing something right. ur light is so bright it's making their insecurities squirm, so that's their problem, not yours.
u're not currency n u can't please everyone, and you shouldn't try. Even if you were a hundred-dollar bill, someone would still complain you're not their preferred payment method.I used to run to haters with explanations, desperate to clear the air. "But I'm not like that! Why do you hate me?"
Now I realize that's like trying to convince a vampire that sunlight is actually pretty nice pointless and exhausting. two years and half rn and I have no enemies because anyone who could be one has already revealed themselves.
I'm going to share different approaches to help you understand that other people's opinions of you are actually data about them, not you and once you truly get this you'll never lose sleep over a hater again !!
the psychology behind the hate
Most of the time, people's dislike of you has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with you. It's about what you represent that they wish they had. ur success, confidence, or happiness reflects back their own disappointments, and instead of doing the work to improve themselves, they project that self-hatred onto you.
Think about it when someone immediately dislikes you for no clear reason, what are you doing that they're not , what do you have that they want? ur "flaws" are often just reminders of their own unrealized potential.
the liberation of not caring
Want to know what changed my life y'all realizing that needing a hater's approval is like asking a broken compass for directions. Why would you want someone who fundamentally misunderstands or resents you to suddenly like you?
Imagine if your biggest critic came up to you tomorrow and said, "Actually, I think you're great!" Wouldn't that feel... weird .. like, where was this energy before? Their opinion was worthless when it was negative, so why would it suddenly become valuable when it's positive ?
the power move is indifference
complete and utter indifference. Not fake indifference where you're secretly seething but"I forgot you existed" energy.
Because someone out there is letting your mere existence control their mood . your promotion, your happiness it's living rent-free in their head while you're over here living your best life. that's celebrity-level influence.
reframe the narrative
Every person who dislikes you is essentially saying: "I am so affected by your presence that I need to actively work to diminish it." That's power THAT'S INFLUENCE. That's them telling you that you matter enough to occupy their mental space. Meanwhile u probably don't think about them at all unless someone brings them up. See the imbalance ! u're the main character in your story, and they've cast themselves as a bitter supporting character in the background.
the upgrade mindset
Instead of shrinking to make others comfortable, use their discomfort as fuel. Let their criticism highlight exactly what makes you different, special, and threatening to their status quo. Their attempts to analyze and diminish you reveal everything about them and nothing about you. You become a mirror reflecting their insecurities back at them, and they don't like what they see. ur job isn't to manage other people's emotions about your existence. Your job is to live so fully, authentically, and boldly that their opinions become background noise to the symphony of your success.
are they worth your energy?
Before you waste time on anyone critics, friends, ask yourself: Do they provide emotional value, economic value, or meaningful companionship? If they hit zero out of three, it's time to gracefully exit that connection.
This is about being strategic with your most precious resource: your energy. Emotionally stable people understand this instinctively they surround themselves with those who add to their peace, not subtract from it.
master your internal weather
Your emotional state is the foundation of everything else in your life. When your emotions are stable, your relationships thrive, your career flourishes, your health improves, and opportunities seem to appear everywhere. When you're emotionally chaotic, everything falls apart.
The rule is simple: don't leave home angry, don't go to bed worried, don't make decisions when you're furious, and don't take action when you're confused. When you're clear-headed, make moves. When you're lost, read and learn. When you're alone, reflect and strategize.
the mirror principle
When someone says something nasty about you, remember when a mirror is dirty, you don't think your face is dirty. So why, when someone speaks poorly of you, do you immediately assume something's wrong with you?
Their words are a reflection of their internal state, not a factual assessment of who you are. A person at peace doesn't attack others randomly. A secure person doesn't need to tear others down to feel better about themselves.
ur multiple selves
in the minds of 100 different people, there are 100 different versions of you. Some see you as successful, others as threatening. Some see you as kind, others as fake. Some see you as confident, others as arrogant. u cannot control which version of you lives in someone else's head. You can only control which version u choose to be. So why exhaust yourself trying to manage everyone else's perception when you could use that energy to become the best version of yourself?
the hierarchy of personal power
Never let your temper exceed your talent, your ego exceed your ethics, your spending exceed your wisdom, or your desires exceed your abilities. When these get out of balance, you become vulnerable to the very people whose opinions you shouldn't care about.
Stay in your power by staying in balance. When you're grounded in who you are and what you're capable of, other people's noise becomes just that background static while you create your symphony.
@bloomzone
No one is watching you as much as you think they are. No one cares if you're biking alone, playing basketball by yourself, or sitting by a river with a blanket and a book. What actually matters is how those things make you feel. Do they bring you peace? Do they make you happy? That’s what counts. Not some random stranger’s opinion that won’t even last ten seconds. think again
