January 6, 1999 - 18 years to the dot today we shed tears for our beloved countrymen who lost their lives or suffered the worst imaginable atrocity when rebels of the Revolutionary United Front ( RUF ) entered the Sierra Leone capital, Freetown. RIP

MEMORIAL FUND FOR MARIAMA SILLAH 💔💔💔😥

Mariama was a sweet and smart beautiful young lady who was always smiling. Her future was bright and filled with promises as she attended grade 9 at Victoria School of Performing Arts. She loves to dance and read books.

Unfortunately her life was cut short late Saturday November 26th evening when an Edmonton City bus ran her over and took her precious life away from us, one month before her 14th birthday. The whole Edmonton community is saddened at this incident as it was made public on news media.

Mariama was our little sister, cousin,neice, Daughter, granddaughter, and most of all a friend. She respected her elders and always refered to her elders as Aunty or uncle. She was loved dearly by everyone. And will be missed.

The Sierra Leone Community is setting up this fund to help the grieving parents and families back home in Sierra Leone and in the Sierra Leone Edmonton Alberta community to help with funeral expenses. Any amount helps, and if you are unable to donate please share and spread the word. May your beautiful soul rest in perfect peace sweet Mariama.
