Here’s an old aro meme from 2011, which was before the rise of the “Ace Discourse” around 2015 (which may have started out as backlash in response to The Trevor Project deciding to include asexual people around that time). so last year during a period of intense suicidal depression i made this necklace that i always wear, right, and the thing is it's genuinely brought me a lot of comfort and relief and i've developed a strong sentimental attachment to it, to the point that i can inarguably state that it's had a net positive effect on my mental wellbeing. however i did now just have to stop to almost throw up laughing because i realised that i've succumbed to the amulet.

finished Boondocks season 4. fucking dreadful in every sense of the word. the best episodes are just mediocre and the worst episodes are awful. the show has always been sharp with its commentary and satire but season 4 is just meanspirited, and there IS a difference. you can feel that it ain't Aaron Mcgruder writing this stuff. it's not clever, it's not funny, it's reliant on mainstream pop culture references, and the characters are parodies of themselves.

the last epsiode of the series i'm watching is actually Jimmy Rebel since it aint on HBO and it's like night and day quality. man.

i went into season 4 of The Boondocks with an open mind despite fans' general hate of the season and they weren't kidding, this shit sucks. even the episodes people will tell you aren't bad suck too. i don't think it's unwatchable, the episodes are just so unbelievably mediocre and are frequent retreats of episodes already done-- the granddad escort one is like Guess Hoe's Coming to Dinner and the Ebony Brown episode, Pretty Boy Flizzy retreads the Usher episode, etc. most of the episodes are about Granddad, who is not the main character of the fucking show may i remind you. he is 1/3 of this show but it basically becomes the Granddad show.

also i'm watching Freedomland rn and it is so bad i almost want to turn it off. jesus christ.
