Ittai Manero released an update to their Comic Toolkit brush set for Procreate just in time for me to put off subscribing to CSP again (it seems very fancy now compared to when I used to use it on my laptop, but also on my laptop I didn’t need to subscribe to use it. a tablet is just a laptop with extra steps if you don’t want to use the onscreen keyboard at this point, why…)

anyway this is exactly nothing but I downloaded the update yesterday and messed with the brushes today while watching the tutorial video and I wanted to post about the brush set so here’s the result of me dicking around. I’ll try to do (or at least start) a proper test page tonight if I have the energy 🤔

[wip] base facial expressions for expression sheets for the Jason Todd Died in a Fire version of Jason Todd and his love interest Asa, ‘cause I have a habit of wanting to do expression sheets then forgetting what expressions I want to include, etc. so I figured start with simple versions first and I liked how they look so here they are. brain is fried, can’t focus on anything, does a little style challenge with the Jason Todd Died in a Fire version of Jason & resident fancharacter Asa. attempted the styles of Dan Mora, Jorge Jiménez, Ryoko Kui, and Pepe Larraz. ended up more with like hybrids of mine and their styles? oh well good night

more Jason Todd Died in a Fire doodles, with Bruce & Talia and their respective and shared children (technically posted before but I was increasingly unhappy with the drawings I’d posted with it so deleted the post), a very rough initial concept of the remains of some of the magical and alchemical means someone tried to use to bring Jason back left on Jason’s skin, and just a little doodle of Jason sleeping that I liked okay, good night

continued “Jason Todd Died in a Fire” Red Hood costume design shenanigans, narrowing in on some ideas, trying out some others. the helmet broken down into a face mask and the robin breast shirt were spur of the moment whims but I think like the idea of having him use at least part of his Robin cape as a scarf, the welder spats, and the one-eyed domino mask those will probably stick around in future designs
