Today’s Anime Recommendation: D.N.Angel
14 year old middle schooler Daisuke Niwa musters up the courage to confess to his crush Risa Harada, but is unsurprizingly rejected.
Due to his family heritage.. Daisuke soons finds himself turning into the well known thief Dark Mousy and is asked by his own mother to steal peices of artwork. This happens whenever he finds himself thinking about Risa.
Throw in a sporty twin sister, another angel nemesis, police commander set on catching Dark, some classmates, family,.. You have yourself one really cute interesting romance anime.
Cute is really a good word for the romance in this anime, as the characters are a little younger and it doesn’t get all ecchi..(Like a lot of animes choose to).
Watch it and you will see.. Nice story, adorable romance, great characters.. Well worth the recommendation :) I hope you enjoy!
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Sword Art Online
This anime is about a new virtual reality game SAO that uses nerve gear that lets you control everything with your mind. When the first batch of 10,000 users find themselves unable to log out of the game.. They are stuck there to try and win at the game and get to the top tower.
However, if you die in the game.. you die in real life. Once the players realize this.. not all of them are so ready to go risking it all to leave. While others like main characters Kirito and Asuna keep fighting to escape back to the real world.
As I am a gamer.. and love mmos. I really enjoyed this anime. All the fun things they do in the game, I relate it to games I have played as well. From dungeons, to owning a house and getting married etc. I strongly ship Kirito/Asuna.. so that of course helped me love this anime even more. However, I wasn’t as keen when they made additional seasons...(elves? come on..) They should have stopped while they were ahead of the game.
Never the less.. Watch the first season and least and you won’t be disappointed!
Boss asked me to order pizza and wings for everyone today at work.. since so few people actually came to work today.. Yay pizza!!!!!
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Detective Conan
This is one of my all time favorite anime.
Shinichi Kudo is an amazing teenage detective , with a knack for soccer.. who’s best friend is a kick ass karate champ female (Ran). Everything was going great until Shinichi stumbled across something he shouldn’t have. Poisoned and left for dead.. only instead of dying.. Shinichi shrinks down to the form of a little boy. (Conan).
Telling only his good friend Professor Agasa who helps him with several gadgets to help him continue his ability to be a great detective. Hoping to find out the organization that shrunk him and find a cure.. Join Conan/Shinichi as he tries to keep his secret identity as well as protect those he cares about
I am a mystery buff already.. So I enjoy each and every episode trying to figure out who did what. and how! Not to mention I am a huge Shipper of Shinichi/Ran (Jimmy and Rachel .. if u listen to the dubs) lol
Mystery/Comedy/Romance/Drama/Adventure .. this is such a wonderful anime. and sooo long.. I honestly don’t even know how many episodes its up to at this point.. or movies.. Every now and then I will jump back in and pick up where I left off. (I know its over 600 episodes and over 20 movies I think at this point) .. I tend to shy away from the episodes that the main focal point is the school kids... I am more for the ones that feature Ran and shinichi-Conan.. lol
Anyways.. Watch this anime.. Its awesome!!! Seriously.. I feel like I could actually get away with a crime too since I have learned so much lol.. (not that I would ever commit a crime..) ^_^ But seriously... (Ice Weapon that melts away the evidence?.. yeaa this anime thinks up sooo much awesomeness)
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Air Gear
Sorry for such a late recommendation.. but today was end of the month at work .. so crazy!!
Air Gear is about the street fighting racing world of Air Treck. Main character wants to be a great best rider.. and discovers a pair of skates in his apartment .. and finds out the people he lives with used to be apart of one of the great racing gangs. Trying to keep him from the drama and trouble.. they obviously fail.
I honestly didn’t think I was going to enjoy an anime about ... motorized rollerblading..(as I personally have never even rollerbladed) lol but I was browsing netflix one day and stumbled across it .. and was like eh what the heck.. And I binged the whole thing.. Surprisingly very addicting.
The only thing I will mention is you will probably be craving a second season/series.. I know I did and still do! Go watch it anyways! ^_^
Yep so very true!! I was such a shy girl growing up.. often teased and I let it get to me.. But as I grew into an adult.. everything just started to make sense. Then of course found my hubby and he made me feel wonderful.. Now with 2 kiddos and him.. Life couldn’t be better! <3
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Slayers
Another older anime that I strongly recommend.
Comedy/Action/Adventure/Romance splashed in.
Join Lina Inverse.. hilarious hot headed sorceress who travels around the world stealing from bandits. Treasure her main goal! Mistaken for a damsel in distress.. Lina ends up with a new traveling companion Swordsmen Gourry Gabriev. Gourry is kind of a blonde fool.. but a lovable blonde fool! LOL
Throw in a magic wielding chimera (my favorite character - Zelgadis), and a high strung princess (Amelia) You have yourself one heck of an amusing team. Many other wonderful characters are befriended and join up along the way, and together all form a wonderful anime.
Slayers starts out lighthearted and of course veers off that course to trying to stop the end of the world.. Cuz ya know.. why not? Even in their most serious moments though, they always feel compelled to throw in wise crack or something to lighten up the tenseness.
This is another anime that has many different series, Slayers, Slayers Next, Slayers Try, Slayers Revolution.. Haven’t seen them? Watch them all!!
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Ranma 1/2
Most of you should have seen this one coming.. as yesterday was Inuyasha ;)
Well to start off.. I actually got into Ranma by accident. My aunt was looking for a birthday gift for me, and I had asked for Inuyasha and I had told her.. Rumiko Takahashi .. so when I opened my present and found this anime.. I was a little disappointed. But.. I of course didn’t show it and I decided to give Ranma 1/2 a shot. & I am soooo glad I did. Action/Comedy/Romance/Martial Arts/Curses/plot twists/tons of new characters.. so much to love!
First off this anime is full of martial artists. Which that was pretty cool... I knew I could count on some great action.. Then of course there is the fun added fact of the Jusenkyo Spring curses...Cold water activates the curse.. Warm water turns ya back. Now doesn’t that sound like it could lead to some fun situations? Well trust me... It does!!
With so many Springs of Drowned .. whatevers.. you would think they would have closed the place by now... How many people and critters have to drown.. before a place is deemed unsafe? lol
Ranma & Akane have been set up as Fiances to be married by their fathers.(Akanes two sisters thought she would be the best fit) Eldest sister Kasumi-sweet and carefree..and then there is Nabiki--Money scrounge.. Its all about the money with here.. lol
Although they both deny it..Ranma and Akane slowly grow closer..they have a great Love-hate relationship. Follow Ranma on his quest to remove his curse (and others who come along that are also cursed) Don’t think it will be an easy task tho with so many love-rivals all vying for Ranma’s attention..and lets not forget the guys that Akane also has pining after her. Throw in a Panda cursed father.. who never should have been allowed to be alone with his son..(meow!..need I say more?)..a perverted panty stealing old man, a boy who is always lost, A delusional guy who thinks Kendo is Life, his equally delusional gymnastics sister, a doctor who becomes useless at the sight of his crush, and 2 foodies that will chase Ranma down til the ends of the earth. Ramen or Okonomiyaki anyone?
The characters are what really make up this anime. Each one is uniquely hilarious. And come on.. some of them are just things you would find in your bathroom.. Shampoo, Cologne, Mousse... Yep! ^_^ More and more characters are introduced and all the shenanigans they get themselves into is a riot to watch. They make sure to throw in some cute moments as well that helps me Ship AkaneXRanma all the more!!
This is a nice long anime 143 episodes, a few movies, and 12 ovas.. WATCH THEM ALL!!! you won’t regret it!
Lets just say I loved this anime so much.. my almost 12 year old dog is named Akane-Chan! LOL
If I had to find 1 flaw with the anime.. it would have to be the fact that part way thru the english dub.. Ranma goes thru a voice change.. that of course has him sounding like Inuyasha lol (I got used to it.. but at first I was like.. Heyy wait a minute!) (and I know that Ranma came first so really it’s inuyasha that sounds like Ranma.. but I watched Inuyasha first.. so yea..) ENJOY~!
Old School Movie Recommendation: Rock-a-Doodle
This is one of the first movies I can remember watching as a child. One of my all time favorites too. Not only does it start out as a normal movie. but then it transitions to animation. Full of addicting songs , adorable and memorable characters, and a perfectly miserable bad guy who hates the sun.
This movie is about a boy Edmund who gets turned into a kitten by a big mean owl while his farm is having flooding issues. The only thing that can save both his families farm and all the animal friends. is if they can get Chanticleer to crow and get the sun to shine again
Watching the sun come out on its own without his help however made him doubt himself and he ran away from the farm to become a rock n roll singer in the city.
Join Edmund and his new animal friends as they try and convince Chanticleer to come give crowing another chance to save everyone before the Owls descend to eat all the animals.
Such a great movie.. Even now 20+ years later.. I have watched it with my own boys and we all still adore it!
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Inuyasha
Inuyasha was the very first anime I ever stumbled across while flipping channels some 14-15 years ago. So understandably, this anime will always have a special place in my heart <3
Inuyasha is about a half-demon .. named.. you guessed it.. Inuyasha. Half Human-Half Dog Demon, sword wielding bad-ass.
This anime has everything.. Demons, Half Demons, Time traveling well jumper, Perverted monk with cursed hand, kick ass demon slayer chick with a giant boomerang, adorable but lethal animal sidekicks, walking dead ex lovers, Not-so brotherly love, bondage.(cuz lets face it that’s what that necklace is) "SIT”, A wolf demon who’s got it bad, and a bad guy that just never seems to die and keeps making himself friends lolll
Full of action, adventure, comedy, romance,drama.. lots of fillers of entertainment. I would go from laughing to being so freakin frustrated with Inuyasha that I wish I could jump in my tv and smack him myself.
If you do decide to start up Inuyasha, I highly recommend watching All 167 episodes, plus the Final act episodes as well as the 4 movies. (do Final act Last)... obviously
You just can’t love it enough without the full package deal!! All together makes a wonderful story.. Follow the gang on their journey to Collect all the jewel shards and rid the world of the Shikon No Tama.
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Peach Girl
This anime is about Momo Adachi.. who due to her tan skin and bleached color hair, comes off as being easy/slut. The reality is she is on the swim team and just tans real easy, and the chlorine changed her hair. Momo has a crush on Touji ... but she heard he only likes girls with pale skin.. so she is constantly doubting herself and trying to stay out of the sun to lose her tan. Momo made friends with one of the most popular girls at the school... who turns out to be the absolute worst best friend you could ever have. Whatever Momo wants.. Sai vows to make it hers. This includes Touji, once she realizes Momo likes him. Enter Kairi.. (My main reason for liking this anime so much) Upperclassman who becomes a great friend and more to Momo. His carefreee, lovable, goofiness just makes him one of my favs!
If you like romance/comedy/drama/plot twists/more drama.. then this is the anime to watch!..Also if you just feel like hating on someone.. Sae is the perfect person to hate.. with every fiber of your being!
If you are looking for something else.. then this probably isn’t the anime for you. But for a highschool, romance/drama/love triangle type of anime.. This is a good one for sure to watch!!
It was great I watched this anime with 2 different friends and both of the friends chose a different guy they wanted momo to end up with. ^_^
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Toradora
Toradora is about two kids at school one Ryuuji Takasu.. who although kind at heart, has an intimidating face and is often mistaken as a delinquent. Enter Aisaka Taiga.. who although small .. has a feisty personality .. (and carries around a wooden katana..good for smacking around Ryuuji). She is referred to as the “Palmtop Tiger”
When the two cross paths they discover that they both have a crush on each others best friend. This has the two of them teaming up to try and get them together with their crushes. In doing so of course... they grow closer and closer to each other. (So yes.. I of course ship Taiga x Ryuuji )
This Rom/Com/Drama was highly enjoyable.. albeit a little cliche. All the characters and their emotions are what really had me loving this anime. Some anime tend to forget to have their characters actually show their emotions... This one did not forget.. and with every emotional scene... I of course ended up emotional.. That to me= Successful anime!
If you like Romance/Comedy/Drama/cuteness.. this is a must watch for you!
Today’s Anime Recommendation: Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)
This anime is about an ex-gang leader who decided he wanted to reform himself and become the greatest teacher ever.. His main reason being to meet a bunch of highschool girls! (LOL)
When being given a classroom full of delinquents, is Onizuka up to the task of being a great teacher? Slowly but surely Onizuka works to win over his students. His methods of course being out of the ordinary and hilarious.
Full of of a mix of comedy, sexual innuendo/situations, some serious moments, life lessons, from a young-exthug teacher with a good heart.
If you haven’t seen this anime and don’t mind the “crudeness” aspect..which in reality helps make up the main character and makes him all that more amusing. You definitely should give this anime a watch!
Wish I had a teacher like him when I was in school.. Sure would have made thins more interesting!!!
