Dohyun wasn’t too sure what to expect with the new workshops but he was excited for the new opportunities he had a bit of control over. It wasn’t even a question that he would be taking the stage singing one, only what would be his second choice. He didn’t have too many expectations of his future as an idol but he did know he wanted to be known for his live singing, based on his past in his band and choir.
Singing while jogging had been a staple of his training routine even before getting signed with studio delta so his vocals were pretty stable. There was a lot more for him to learn though, and this kind of workshop was almost geared to his vision.
“So, think we’ll be doing jumping jacks while belting or something?” Dohyun looks over at Jay before smirking.
it’s nice when workshops don’t grate at jay’s brain simply because it’s something that doesn’t interest him in the slightest. thank goodness studio delta came through with a workshop related to live performances! while his time in next gen properly gave him insight into what it’s like to perform on a stage, jay knows he’s basically still an amateur. he wants kickstart things though, filled with the drive to learn more.
the other studio delta trainees seem to have that same mindset. at least, the ones he know of, like dohyun. “honestly, i hate exercising… but i know why that would be part of the training regime. like—it works! you can really train your voice to become a lot more stable if you practice singing while doing something strenuous.”
jay throws a teasing smile towards dohyun. “you ready to work on your biceps, hyung? i know! you’re gonna bulk up while working on your vocals!” jay laughs, poking dohyun’s arm as he does. “you could come out of this workshop a muscle bunny.”
It’s hard to keep the snort that escapes him quiet, but he has to be mindful of the others around the room. Although the workshop hadn’t started officially yet, no one was being too loud and he wouldn’t be the one to break the humming quiet.
“I don’t think I’d make it out if they had us lifting while singing..” he shakes his head, flexing the little bit of muscle he’s packed on since working out his arms. “I need way more concentration for that usually, I’d probably drop the weights and break something. I can’t get better at dancing with a broken foot.” He laughs under his breath at the mental image of dancing in a walking boot, the clunking of it across the studio’s hardwood.
“What about you, huh? You going to bulk up anytime soon?” He doesn’t know too much about the other trainee- maybe he’s a potential future gym buddy. It would be an odd twist of events but it would work. He doubt he would get Joomi to partner up with him.
