✨personal update from yours truly✨

Hi y’all. I just wanted to hop on here and explain myself for basically invisible manning for over a year.

The short version is my partner and I ended things in a very horrible way. Cheating, abuse, the works. Shortly after that I was laid off of my marketing job. Shortly after THAT my father (whom I am super close with) had open heart surgery with complications. And my 20 year old cat passed away. So, in laymen’s terms? Shit has been utterly Fucked™️ since 12/22.

Things are slowly untangling themselves from their fucky little threads. I live closer to the city (that’s Chicago for me), gone low contact with my mother, got a wonderful boyfriend who doesn’t ever make me feel like my mental illness is a burden to him and a best friend in my life who doesn’t make me feel small and stupid. I’ve recovered from another ✨attempt✨ and I’m steadily working towards a management position in my field.

I say all this because I’ve been getting a lot of comments on my fics. Saying these really wonderful things which make me cry and I gleefully read to my boy who literally cannot watch shameless because it reminds him of his upbringing but loving listens to me ramble on about it.

I say all this because I feel like I’ve abandoned a community that was like a light to me. It inspired me. It comforted me. And it gave me some really wonderful connections. And I’m sorry that I haven’t played tag games in a while, or responded to dms, or been active, or written a single word that wasn’t marketing copy in over a year.

I say this because you all have meant so much to me. And in some way my words have meant something to you. And that’s not only super powerful but really why I wanted to write in the first place when I was a lonely little kid being SA’ed by a relative.

I don’t think I can write right now. And to be honest, I don’t know if I ever will. But this community has touched me and made me feel less alone. And I couldn’t go any longer without thanking each and everyone one of you that call this community a home too.

I’m getting better. I’m healing. I’m not floating on my back in the proverbial pool before I break up with my true love on the stoop of my house. If anything, I’m kneeling on a sticky floor of some club, crutches tossed aside and knuckles bloody telling you all that I love you. More than anything. And I’ll be back eventually. Just not now.

I love y’all so much. Really. And thank you for everything.

[my notes: this fic is a fucking masterpiece! i started reading it around the time chapter five was posted, and oh my god let me tell you, waiting for each new update was glorious torture. the story starts with ian becoming a fanboy of the youtuber mickmilk, until their first meeting at a gamer convention goes horribly awry—flipping everything on its head and changing the course of both of their lives forever. @gallavichy truly never fails, this fic is gorgeous and evocative, and the characters are so well-written and fleshed out. anyway, i’m so sad this fic is finished and i already miss these boys so much. guess it’s time for another re-read!]

34. Do they ever go to couples therapy? Does Mickey go to a therapy to deal with his past? (:

I do! I think Ian has a regular therapist who he really clicks with and actually during the whole s11 arch of jobless Mickey vs Warehouse Ian really sold the idea of couples therapy as something the might need. I think Mickey was a harder sell on it, but Ian likely promised him some ~perks~ if he went, so he did.

I think eventually (like after a WHILE) Mickey will go to therapy. I have this idea that he and Ian take care of Franny while Debbie's out... doing whatever it is she's doing with Heidi. And I think he'd be motived truly to work on himself if and only if he had a kiddo depending on him. Mickey's an acts of service guy and he's always serving those he loves. I think with a little more distance from his upbringing, he'd be willing to give it a go :)

So Mickey is easy. He's way to chicken to admit it, but he really loves soft sex. Like spooning, cuddly sex. I think he had this fantasy of having sex in a hotel bathtub, and on a bed of rose petals. All that sappy shit that he pretends to hate.

Ian is a little bit more difficult. But if I had to guess based on his (or MY assumption) like of public sex/the thrill of getting caught, he might like voyeurism? Like maybe along the lines of watching Mickey (with his consent of course) shower or masturbate? But I think he'd been too embarrassed to tell Mickey about it because it makes him feel like a creeper.

So, other that choking and gagging, I think Mickey calls Ian Daddy. I don't think its a full Big/Little sorta situation. But I think at one point, Mickey probably was REAL worked up and it slipped out. Ian obviously was IN TO IT. So now it's a personal goal of Ian's to get Mickey so worked up it slips out again. (I also think Mickey drops it casually when he wants Ian NOW and Ian's doing something that isn't Mickey tbh)

As for Ian, I truly think he's a dirty talk kinda guy, but other than that pretty vanilla. HOWEVER. If Ian had one kink? Public Sex. I think it reminds him of the Mickey he fell in love with and the nostalgia of sneaking around not only makes it hotter for him, but I think it reminds him of the Mickey he fell in love with. Only know instead of sharing a cigarette, they kiss and are politely told to leave the Chili's.

6. Do either of them have a secret talent?👀

Yes! I think Ian can not only dance fairly well but can sing! He’s big into singing lullabies to the kiddos (and Mickey when he has the occasional nightmare). I also think Ian is a really decent cook! (In fact he and Tami bond over making healthy dishes for Freddie and Lip and Mickey tbh)

Mickey can draw (obviously) and play guitar, but I think he can also bake really well. He’s good with numbers and measurements, so baking is probably really easy for him! (He and Debbie bond over it)
