覆われる - the passive form of 覆う. example: 一面雪に覆われる. (it was covered in a layer of snow).
角笛 - a horn instrument / a blowing horn. it’s not just a horn on an animals head. notice how 笛 means blow or whistle!
牡** - can also be written as 雄 (example: 雄犬)
牝** - can also be written as 雌 (example: 雌犬)
