How to learn LITERALLY anything
1. Figure out if you really like what youâre doing - Are you practicing drawing? Dancing? Any activity that you want to learn will cost you TIME so the first thing youâll need to do is literally figure out if you like it or not. Ask yourself: Can I really spend one year? (Hell, even a decade) learning this or spend a year figuring this out? If you think you are well continue with it.
2. Never EVER compare yourself with others -Â May it be any field. You donât go compare yourself with other professionals because itâd make you discouraged. really. Remember that an infant learns how to walk for YEARS.
3. INSPIRATION IS MOTIVATION - You have to figure out WHY youâre doing that. The âwhyâ is an inspiration and you need to have a solid goal because youâll face the âi donât want to do this anymoreâ âim not improvingâ âi suckâ phase so you need something that you should think about if you get these kind of thoughts so you can conquer them.
4. REFERENCE!!!!!! - These doesnât only apply to artists but to aspiring writers, dancers and people who want to play instruments (etc!) as well. Instead of comparing yourself to professional people. watch them. Read a book, watch someone dance, watch someone play something and OBSERVE HOW THEY DO IT. This will make you exposed to accuracy and you can get know-hows by watching these.
5. PRACTICE DO NOT MAKE PERFECTIONÂ -Â Iâm sorry to break it to you but practice do not make perfection. Instead of just practicing you need to reference, analyze, and do things. You donât just practice an upper cut punch one hundred times a day and think your punch would get stronger? You exercise, stretch and practice the punch. I hope you get the gist.Â
6. Hard things are great things - If youâre having a hard time doing a spin, shading a portrait, sing a G#5 note, write a dialogue tag, or anything that means itâs beyond your skill and facing these things would make you improve. You donât say âI canât do thisâ and cry in the corner. You say âI canât do thisâ while crying and doing the thing. The first time might mess up but if you keep doing that youâll master that too.
7. A FRIENDÂ - You need someone (preferably someone who is already professional in the thing youâre trying to learn) who you can trust that would become someone who records your improvement. You show them things you do and get serious feedbacks or sometimes rant at them. I promise itâs worth it.
8. PATIENCE!!!!!!!! - You wonât improve just because you want to. Patience.
REMINDERS: Learning that thing you want to learn always remember that itâs a LONG TERM THING and you should commit your life to it. You may find it hard but it could give you advantages. We as a baby literally spent two or three years to learn how to walk and talk so literally go for it!!!!!!!!

Normalise liking poetry because you like the way it sounds and art because you think its beautiful. You donât have to understand the deeper meaning of something to appreciate it - poetry is bloody difficult to analyse and art requires an extensive knowledge of movements and artists to properly get - so please just wonder around art galleries and decide which pieces youâd buy if you could, and read out lines of poetry simply because they have a nice ring to them.
every day i wake up and drink my silly little coffee while God eats my heart like a pomegranate in front of me
u know what makes me cry..... that one van gogh quote about life changing for the better..... âmany people seem to think it foolish, even superstitious, to believe that the world could still change for the better. and it is true that in winter it is sometimes so bitingly cold that one is tempted to say, âwhat do i care if there is a summer; its warmth is no help to me now.â yes, evil often seems to surpass good. but then, in spite of us, and without our permission, there comes at last an end to the bitter frosts. one morning the wind turns, and there is a thaw. and so i must still have hope.â yeah..... Crying....
Last summer my friendâs mom discovered hundreds of teeny tiny toad tadpoles in a puddle in her driveway. It was drying up, so she asked me about moving them to a nearby pond. I told her not to, because moving amphibians unnaturally between water bodies can spread disease.
So she filled up a watering can every morning and every evening and replenished the puddle, adding dechlorinator drops she uses for her fish tank to make sure the water was safe.
The tadpoles survived and grew up into little toads who eventually hopped out of the puddle.
I think about the tenderness and compassion of this a lot.
you know when youâre splitting something with someone you love and you intentionally take the smaller/otherwise worse half so they can have the better one... yeah
