Things you should do to prevent desk-work injure
Here are some tips for you to prevent getting injured from drawing, writing, typing.
-Stretch for 2 mins once every 30 mins. (When you work professionally as a job listed above, make sure you stretch your muscles, especially: wrists, arms, shoulders, spine.) [There are videos online for desk break stretch].
-Have water next to your work space. (I constantly drink a lot of water, every time I drink up my water I WALK to the kettle to fill it up).
-Do REAL exercise every day for at least 40 mins a day. ( Running, swimming, jumping around in the house, hit exercise videos. It’s important to keep your body blood flow and build up muscles so you are capable of working for long-term ).
-Adjust your posture. (While you sit, rest and open up your shoulders, keep your arms perpendicular to your table, back straight, straight up your neck. Please resist chicken-neck and ear-touching-shoulder ).
-Sleep well. ( Your muscles will regain energy and rest while you sleep, a long enough sleeping time and comfortable sleeping space will provide you refreshing energy).
-Keep a mist spray by your computer. ( I use a mist for keeping skin moisturized and refreshing) Always remember being hydrated is essential, also there are different scent mist, I think it is bring fresh to your surroundings).
-Go to a physical therapist if you think you need one. (When you find your hands are feeling numb and are a bit shaky. Or our shoulders are sore. It is most likely due to bad posture and working non-stop. It is urgent for you to get professional physical therapist help).
