Things you should do to prevent desk-work injure
Here are some tips for you to prevent getting injured from drawing, writing, typing.
-Stretch for 2 mins once every 30 mins. (When you work professionally as a job listed above, make sure you stretch your muscles, especially: wrists, arms, shoulders, spine.) [There are videos online for desk break stretch].
-Have water next to your work space. (I constantly drink a lot of water, every time I drink up my water I WALK to the kettle to fill it up).
-Do REAL exercise every day for at least 40 mins a day. ( Running, swimming, jumping around in the house, hit exercise videos. It’s important to keep your body blood flow and build up muscles so you are capable of working for long-term ).
-Adjust your posture. (While you sit, rest and open up your shoulders, keep your arms perpendicular to your table, back straight, straight up your neck. Please resist chicken-neck and ear-touching-shoulder ).
-Sleep well. ( Your muscles will regain energy and rest while you sleep, a long enough sleeping time and comfortable sleeping space will provide you refreshing energy).
-Keep a mist spray by your computer. ( I use a mist for keeping skin moisturized and refreshing) Always remember being hydrated is essential, also there are different scent mist, I think it is bring fresh to your surroundings).
-Go to a physical therapist if you think you need one. (When you find your hands are feeling numb and are a bit shaky. Or our shoulders are sore. It is most likely due to bad posture and working non-stop. It is urgent for you to get professional physical therapist help).

Responsibility – I think I am somewhat responsible. At school, I make it to class an hour early, and I turn all my assignments on time. I take responsibility for my words, actions, and money. Yet, I have no responsibility myself. Lately, I have been studying in the library from 6:00 pm-11:00 pm every weekday and sometimes on the weekends. I leave the library and make it home by midnight. I then start binge eating anything my eyes catch because studying for 4+ hours somehow justifies my crime of eating so late. I have a gym pass for about five months now, and the only time I have ever been to the gym was the day I signed up. I always think about going to the gym after studying, but my body movements are so trained to drive straight home. I find myself gripping tight on the steering wheel whenever I get off the freeway because I can either make a right for the gym or left to go home. In the back of my mind, I hear myself say “turn right,” but I always end up going the opposite way. I am responsible for many things except for myself. I envy those who can juggle being a full-time student, have a full-time job, and have time to take care of their bodies. All this drainage of my life force is wearing me down to a point where my mental health should be questioned. buuut, I will save those complicated feelings for another entry.
