Maybe new heroes, new alliances and female leadership can guide us beyond the wreckage of the past and into new, unexplored territory outside of theatres
Over at the Guardian, I wrote about the past year and the new Star Wars and what it all means

Massive thanks to illustrator & author Brian Floca for generously creating our fantastic #bookstoredaynyc artwork. Posters and postcards will be available in stores soon!
that feeling when coming back to reality when finished a really good book.
I knew Entertainment Weekly had picked Station Eleven as their favourite book of the year, but didn’t know until I bought the magazine that they’d provided an illustration of the Traveling Symphony’s lead caravan. I especially like the driver in the captain’s hat. Station Eleven went into its eleventh printing this week.

Fall is here.
Still, the longer I was around her, the more I could see the colours of her mind and the recesses of her heart. There was a beast in there. But there was also a girl who was afraid of being a beast, and who wondered if other people had beasts in their hearts too. There was strength, and there was also just the determination to look strong. She guarded herself like a secret.

Sometimes I think that maybe we are just stories. Like we may as well just be words on a page, because we’re only what we’ve done and what we are going to do.

"The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for." - Unknown Open your eyes and really see what you have and the opportunities you've been given for their true value. A good education is so important and can open so many doors. Grumble about having to wake up early, complain about all the homework, pretend that your teacher doesn't care about you (or is "out to get you")... But drink your coffee (or whatever gets you through the day) and BE PRESENT in that classroom (PARTICIPATE); turn off the TV, ignore Facebook, and look for the lesson in the assignment, don't focus on the chore (don't just study, LEARN); know that the most fulfilling and validating moment for a teacher is to see that spark of understanding light a flame of knowledge, curiosity, and passion in your eyes, a thirst for life and to know more (CHANGE YOUR LIFE, CHANGE THE WORLD FOR THE BETTER, DO GOOD WITH WHAT YOU KNOW). This little girl is going to change the world some day (maybe she already has, thanks to @HumansOfNY), and it all starts with her ABCDs, her 1234s, and her stunning red dress. Love this challenge ^_^ Since I had to leave my books behind =’( my Kindle has been invaluable! I just finished reading these three books between yesterday and today, so instead I’ll post the next book on my reading list.
Now it’s your turn! Take a selfie with the book you are currently reading and post it on your wall with the hashtag #cogeunmalditolibro. Reading is knowledge! (Knowledge is power! =P)
