“I’m not terribly worried. They’re both younger than I am by more than a thousand years. And, if nothing else, I can always try my hand at the ‘I raised you’ card on Nicky,” she mused, running a hand through her hair. “Fair enough. Lets just hope that they grow up to be a bit more like you.”

“Re-beautification?” he asked, not exactly sure what she meant. “What are they going to rebuild New York or something? Why in the world would they want to do that?”
“I wouldn’t say they plan to rebuild much. They’re hoping to get back some of the beauty this land held before the city was here.”

“I’m sure you’ll be hearing from me.” Mina was also planning on getting a nanny, emptying a human’s mind and replacing it with new memories would be the safest thing to do. Her father had taught her the process back home. It gave her the piece of mind to know that no one would try to hurt her babies without bothering the other Originals too much for help. “I think he knows whose side you are all on.” She laughed. “At least he should by now.”
Mina reached across the table and patted Scarlett’s hand. “That’s very kind of you to say, Amare. As for the nervousness, I’m not too concerned. Anything worth doing makes you feel some kind of nervousness, right? It’s only natural. I’m sure once it fades there will be another thing for me to fret over.” She chuckled.
“I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but your mate has a bit of an ego to him. I wouldn’t be too surprised if he’s still convinced we’re all on his side.” Her tone was light, a grin on her lips. In all honesty, in spite of all her playing and teasing, there was little doubt in her mind that she’d follow Vincent to the end of the Earth, if he asked.
“Such as another child or two?” She teased, chuckling softly. “Who knows, with as young as you are...” She trailed off, grinning and sipping her water. “So, you wanted to talk business, yes?"
Kids These Days | Scarlett & Damon

“I’d disagree but I was taught to respect my elders.” Damon smirked as his eyes scanned the city below. Evan’s little pet proved herself to be quite the pain in the ass during their mission. She even got a hit off on Damon after that sound disorientated him. She’d have to suffer.
“Let’s see.” He lifted his hand and ripped a street sign out of the pavement tossing it at the group below. It had the desired effect. The group scattered except for one. “There’s our girl.” Damon grinned as Sakura levitated up and took off away from the humans. “She’ll lead us away from them.”
An almost playful spark flashed in Scarlett’s eyes as she hummed her approval at his method, watching the girl take off. “Nothing beats a game of cat and mouse on a warm night,” she mused.
She took off after Sakura, a grin on her lips. “So, do you know much of the girl?” She didn’t actually care too much. Even if the girl had more talents than just her levitation, that would simply make their game more interesting, more worthwhile.

Vincent joined her as she laughed. “Just because I may have been living among the humans doesn’t mean that I haven’t stayed sharp.” This was what he loved best, what he was born to do. His father had trained him from the moment he could walk.
“We’ll see if you’ve still got it.” Grinning, he let the energy building in his hands, tiny surges jumping between his fingers. Vincent readied himself, letting Scarlett have the first move.
Scarlett couldn’t fight the grin as she noticed the sparks dancing along his hands, taking a moment to lower her block as she moved into a more natural fighting stance. He was waiting on her to start, that much was clear as day. She shook her head, chuckling lightly. “Ladies first, then? Look at you, playing the gentleman.”
She lunged at him, aiming a blow at his shoulder in an attempt to throw his balance off. She didn’t bother using any electricity in her touch, he was better at surging than she was and the last thing she needed was to give him any extra energy.

“Well then just enjoy the compliment without any second thoughts “ Philip chuckled. “Stereotypical evil genius ? I think you mistake me with Damon or Nick. I only pretend to fit in the stereotype , because the world likes label to its moral norms. As you say, what is viewed by some as evil is viewed as good for others. I do what I do because I can do it and I’m good at it, I feel good with it, the rest is really up to philosophers and god knows how much people like to debate about anything and everything when they’re bored. “
“That would require me to admit that either of them is at all a genius, and if you had known either of them for as long as I have...Well, they’re more like hoodlums or bullies than evil geniuses.” Her tone was light, a grin on her lips. She could almost hear them in the back of her mind, cursing her. She didn’t believe her own words, knew just how intelligent and malicious both of them could be, yet even though they weren’t around she couldn’t keep herself from teasing them. Never know who may have ears near by. “That’s a wonderful way to look at it. You’re certain you’re human? Even most of the other second generation kids I’ve met don’t have such a healthy mindset yet.”
Ziva: "I went out with a coal miner's daughter. I guess you could say I was carbon dated. "
Ziva: That one is partly true tho XD

Quiet, huh? Chris hardly believed that, but then again he was sure if something were to have happened that involved the Resistance, the Originals would have been questioning him already instead of ignoring his existence. “Changes to the city? What changes?” He was genuinely curious and hey, who knows, maybe she would let slip some piece of information he could take back to Ryan and Liz.
“They’re calling it a ‘re-beautification’ of the city.” She shrugged slightly. She hadn’t asked too much about it, and honestly she had her doubts that the city could ever be truly beautiful again. “Tearing down some of the taller buildings, planting gardens and building parks or something. Several of the nearby buildings are already gone, you can see more of the sky from the streets.”

“Mad or under the influence of certain drugs,” she said with a soft laugh, shaking her head as she thought of the humans she had kept as friends through the years. “They tell interesting stories, the humans on drugs.”
“Interesting is a good word for it.” She shook her head, glancing around them before turning back to Aly. “Thank you, for coming to talk to me. It’s been nice, though I’m certain we both have more pressing things to do. We’ll have to catch up for drinks sometime, share some of the more interesting stories we’ve heard.”

And to finally get the swing of a good make up would truly be a plus. The hyper part of her was sometimes a problem, especially for people who were not used to her, it could come across as fake or overplayed, but it was truly the way she was, and you’d rather witness the bubble side of her personality than the cutting one, cause she could swing from an extreme to the other. She half hugged Scarlett back then sat next to her. “ I might just send people your way to see the awkwardness. “ she spoke out loud and nodded. “Well I will call, then…thankfully for you, I hate pickles. They look like small Hulk dicks …it’s disturbing to me”
“Well, then. It looks like we have a plan.” She grinned as she stood, hands on her hips. “You go talk your uncle into a barbecue, I’ll wait for your call...and try to forget that absolutely horrible image. I swear, you’ve always had a way with words that worries me.” She pressed a kiss to the top of Helena’s head before starting to head off. “I’ll see you soon, duckling.”

Was it just her or was Scarlett a little too friendly? Then again, Natalie had to give her the benefit of the doubt; she didn’t know her. All she knew of her were stories – undoubtedly true – and that one time when the woman had her leveled up. And she had to hand it to her; Natalie was resisting with everything she had back then, it couldn’t be an easy job. ‘‘Okay,’‘ She allowed herself a small smile and a soft nod. ‘‘I’ll do that. Sounds like a deal.’‘
“I’ll see you then, Bird.” She gave a slight wave before heading off to busy herself elsewhere. She had hope that they’d have a good day, but if all else failed, she knew it could be fun to push the blonde’s buttons.

“Well, he’s used to having more space, as I tend to live outside of city limits whenever possible. He doesn’t usually have too much of a problem with the people, which is good. I’d hate to find out he’d eaten someone. Honestly, we take it a day at a time. If he doesn’t adjust to the space fairly soon, I may end up moving on sooner than planned.”

“No kidding. You try being stuck in here for as long as I have.” Chris had lost count of the days since he’d been in that cell and he was almost afraid of the answer. He wanted out, but that didn’t look like it was happening any time soon. Eventually the cards were shuffled so he cut the deck and handed her half. “Any other conversation ideas?”
“I could try to fill you in on things that have been happening, if you’d like, but everything has been fairly quiet.” She placed her cards in front of her, one hand lingering on the top of the stack. “Honestly, though, what would you like to talk about? There are things I can’t, and won’t, discuss, but surely we can find something. I’d offer to tell you about my friends, but I have very few these days. We could talk about the changes being made to the city, I don’t have much information on that, but it could be a decent topic.”
