Fundamentally Unsound|| Adriana & David
The fair was crowded. More people had shown up to the shindig than David cared to admit, but he knew the Original’s had clout and were capable of creating grandeur that could bring in the masses. Even if they weren’t a part of the alliance.
He huffed, his discomfort practically palpable as he skirted the edges of the crowds. Games blared, people laughed, there was cotton candy. It was funny. David knew that he spent so much of his time trying to forget the world was crumbling around him, yet here he was in the midst of normalcy contemplating how people could be so damn blind.
The originals hadn’t just created this fair for recreational purposes either. Sprinkled about were their inventions, their toys that they seemed to enjoy flaunting to the un-empowered miscreants that flocked to this fair like bears to honey. The planes, the teleportation stations, the elixirs and other gadgets he didn’t know what to call because they looked as if they came from millions of centuries in the future. It all made him anxious, his tense muscles icing over as he watched the ebb and flow of the crowd.
