New intro post for new followers 😁 I'm Charlie, a queer Christian & minister from North Carolina. (Age: 30s | Pronouns: they/them)

I've been on Tumblr for a while and started posting about faith stuff about five years ago. Now I've got a website (beloved-not-broken.com) where I put resources for queer, questioning, and deconstructing Christians.

A lot of people genuinely believe that permanent disability isn't a thing that happens to good people who work hard and make responsible choices. A lot of people genuinely think that we get the life we work for and deserve. And this is definitely part of the explanation for why ableism is so prevalent

thinking about how Jesus was plunged into the worst of humanity during His passion and death. and yet, in the midst of all that evil, we see glimpses of good. pilate’s wife trying to convince her husband to let Jesus go. simon of cyrene helping Him carry the cross. veronica wiping His face. the women weeping for Him. mother mary and john standing at the foot of the cross. joseph of arimathea burying Him. mary magdalene and the other women going to anoint His body. people trying their best to do good, even when evil surrounds them.
