I love ski flying. It's a pity my work schedule and the competition schedule clash so much but at least I can watch the competitions on the weekends or see reruns of the Thursday and Friday competitions (but still: more ski flying, woohoo!).
I can't really believe that the season will be over after this weekend though. It was endless on the one hand and on the other hand, it seems like the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica were just two weeks ago and now here we are again in Planica with the season finale.
Here's my wish list for the week(end):
Safe flights and landings
Fair and stable conditions
A podium or a win for Michi
A good comeback for Halvor
The Ski Flying crystal globe for Eisei
An exciting team competition
Decent competitions for Daniel
Some new, well-deserved personal bests
No unannounced carreer endings afterwards (please let us know beforehand if it is your last competition/jump!)
For everyone to start into the off-season with a good feeling about their last jumps in particular and about this unusual season 2020/21 in general
That this is the last competition without any spectators and that it will be possible again to have spectators in the next competition at the start of next season - one can dream, right?
So, anyway, excited about ski flying. Let's go!
