i’m obsessed w/ this track.
currently sitting around, waiting to leave for a flight to india (where i’m gonna party it up for my cousin’s wedding - as in, i’m gonna eat too much and spend most of my time avoiding aunties and looking at my phone). wish me luck and keep it lit friends.
old track i know, but this was stuck in my head
so i really fell off the wagon for posting here (but in my defense, 2016 was truly one of the most emotionally challenging years of my life so far...and i kind of fell off the wagon with a lot of stuff). anyway, i’m doing a lot better so here’s something nice to chill out to on a sunday.
i am so in love with this song, this video, this album, and her.
cooler weather sounds
relatable
happy vibes for sunday night. stay positive my friends.
mood
this is honestly all i’ve been listening to lately. i really wish i hadn’t held myself back (for dumb reasons!) from going to pitchfork this year to see her (and everyone else! b/c the lineup was seriously amazing). anyway, i’ve been feeling weird feels lately, and listening to this album is a good way to avoid doing the thing this song is about. i can see why some of the songs on this didn’t make the cut for emotion EXCEPT for cry, higher and roses (especially in lieu of all that, i really like you, and my favourite colour).
mood
so i had a pretty good/chill weekend. the weather was perfect, spent some quality time with good friends (did an escape room!), saw a comedy show, mom took me out for dinner, and i got caught up on work. it felt really "balanced."
anyway, my boring life aside, here's a good "sunday vibes" track from Oddisee's latest EP. he'll be releasing a new album this fall, so keep your eyes/ears open for that.
i’m currently bedridden and sick w/ the flu (b/c of course i’m going to get sick w/ the FLU in summer), so i put together a mix of nighttime sounds for the rest of you (hopefully, healthy) people.
Tracklist:
Let You Go - River Tiber
With You - Kindness (feat. Kelela)

To listen on @8tracks: with you / with me
so i went to a kid koala "music to draw to" event today. it was okay (the whole premise was him playing music you could draw/work to, in this room in an abandoned generating station by the port lands of toronto). the music was really good, and i worked on a little drawing. but i kinda wish i had a friend to go with me (no one that i would’ve wanted to go with was available though). i felt a little lonely and it would’ve been a cool experience to share with someone.
anyway, here’s what i worked on (it’s not perfect, but i like how i did the lips). and kid koala was really good too!! he played some cool tracks, and i always enjoy his approach to mixing and scratching. he played this boards of canada track, which is one of my favourites (and is also good music to draw to).
boards of canada always reminds me so much of my fourth and fifth years of university (i wasn’t depressed like third year, but those were kinda lonely years and i listened to a lot of boc). geogaddi especially reminds me of doing readings in the tim hortons by bay and wellesley during the winter semester of 2012/2013 (soooo specific lol). i always define (and remember) specific periods of my life based on whatever i was listening to at the time (because i have this habit of listening to the same artist/album/playlist on repeat for weeks on end).
anyway, enjoy this track (and try to draw to it!!).
here’s some moody, lo-fi, house (ish) music from Russia that i really like.

i’m hoping we have a cooler summer this year (last year wasn’t too hot, and i don’t remember the summer before that being too bad either...but summer 2013 sucked b/c it was very hot and i was very lonely).
to be honest, i’m not the biggest fan of summer...i wish it could be early fall or late spring all year long. spring is so short here, i don’t even think it should count as a season. it snows until mid-april, is rainy and cold for a few weeks, then there are two weeks of perfect spring weather...until bam, all of a sudden it’s hot as shit and i hate my life.
summer heat and humidity make me feel really lazy (and ugly), and then i don’t want to do anything or go anywhere. the heat always makes whatever loneliness feels i’m having get worse.
anyway, today is nice. i went for a walk after it rained and there was a nice, cool breeze. listened to a mix w/ this track on it, and it’s perfect for a lazy, rainy day like today.
