Some fluff from last year that I never posted because I wanted to fix the perspective (I didn't fix the perspective, don't look at those cursed chairs)

I'm in love with impressionism and I want to include it in my work. In order to do so, I need to study the style first, which led to this personal project of painting Aziraphale and Crowley in some of the scenes which Monet painted in his work.

That was the initial thought, then while trying to post on IG, I came up with short writings to give my audience a context. Now, I don't know if I could continue writing silly short conversations between the husbands to accompany the paintings in the future, but oh well let's just do it while I can.

It's not important, and I've seen plenty of discourse to the contrary.. but it's still bothering me.

You want me to believe that a being who's given in to EVERY earthly delight he's come across.. food, drink, dancing, clothes, theatre, books, music, intrigue.. would suddenly and arbitrarily draw the line at a little bit of lust with his true love of 6,000 years? Especially when he finds out his feelings are reciprocated?! And then end with Bury Your Gays?! But here, have some other unrelated gays you just met and know nothing about other than they look just like the ones we just killed off. No. And I'll thank you to fuck all the way off.

it surprises me when people call the ending “not homophobic” simply because it leaves two men in a romantic relationship. the problem is not that anthony and asa fell in love with each other. the problem is that aziraphale and crowley, characters with one of the most unusual and deeply developed queer stories in modern fantasy, were sacrificed for it

a romance between two men does not automatically make a story good representation. especially when those characters are reduced to a set of generic traits: they are kind, they love each other, and that is basically it. we have already seen countless stories like that, and this is not just about gay relationships. people loved aziraphale and crowley not because they were a couple. they loved them as individuals: complex, contradictory characters with their own dynamic, history, and personalities that developed over many years. that is why it feels so strange to watch them be replaced with a flatter version of the same idea

to me, bad representation is not the absence of a kiss. it is when unique queer characters are erased in favor of a safer and more conventional romantic story. that is a disservice to the fandom

did you actually consider the possibility that we already did. with the final shot of them dining at the Ritz in s1. and that (possibly controversial take) s2 didn't need to exist at all to begin with. that maybe it was just NG wanting more money instead of wanting to honor more of what he and Terry had created together?

(and don't even DARE come at me with ‘oh but he wasn't even involved with the finale!’ when they lied to us, telling us that, and then had his name still blatantly visible on the screen during the opening credits after all. don't you fucking dare.)

I'm tired. I'm so fucking tired. and I'm still grieving, and I'm still angry. and I know I'm not the only one. lmfao.

stop telling us we should be grateful for what wasn't necessary in the first place.
