And Darkness Approaches // Iris & Benjamin
The little girl growled as the shadow worked hard to keep hold of the little girl, its nails deep within her tiny soul as she stared back at Benjamin. It was funny really for as she stood there gripping tight to the ruined animal all Iris wanted was for Benjamin to hold her. For the man to grab hold of her small frame and make everything better. For someone to take away the darkness.
Shaking her head the shadow forced Iris to push away the tears that sprang to her eyes. To harden her heart from those thoughts - to remove the weakness it could not pray on. Swallowing hard she took a step towards him, the shadow speaking before she could truly grasp a free thought “Does the librarian want to save her?” Iris smirked her voice nothing close to her own “Does he wish to take away my little toy?”
Benjamin kept his soft and gentle stare, but wishing he could glare at the darkness. To curse it for taking this little girl hostage. He kept his hand out stretched towards her, nodding his head. "You don't have to listen to it." He told her, taking his own step towards her. "It can be better then this I promise." Benjamin nodded his head once again, hoping with all his might he was getting to Iris.
As he stood a bit away from her, he was debating on whether to just take her into his arms or to wait. "Quite pathetic it is to take a kid." He stated, this time talking to the shadow. "You're just making everything worse for her. If you'd leave her alone she'd be happy but wait, you don't want anyone to be happy." He shrugged his shoulders, running a hand through his hair.
