How to start selling nudes etc on Kik!
Part 1: Finding groups to sell in
When I first started Kik, all I knew is there were groups where the admins were ladies selling their content, and my first run was a waste of almost a month and probably 50+ hours of time for literally NO SALES. Hoping to help out those who want to skip that and be successful with as little time wasted as possible!
Option 1
So one way to get started is to search for groups using sell, sale, pic, video, etc as a keyword and join a group. Look for groups that don't say "Buyers only", they are definitely not accepting sellers. Once joining, I immediately post "Are you accepting sellers? I can verify" and just generally be polite. Don't join and post "I'm a seller, any buyers" or any type of ad. Most groups have verification process for sellers so to be taken seriously, it's best to wait until someone responds.
You will usually get one of 4 responses. 1. Someone may immediately kick you. Don't take it personally, many very active groups do not have time to say they aren’t accepting sellers all day. Reaction 2. An admin may tell you 'Sorry, we aren’t currently accepting sellers" so you just say okay, thank you and leave the group. 3. They say "Yes, we are! Please message <so and so> to verify." Great! Try and be punctual and message the correct person, and verify pretty quickly. Once verified, they should make you admin. 4. You may not get a response at all. In that case, check and see how many admins are there. If its 4 or less, it may be a dead/ abandoned group and I would leave. If there are 5-15 admins, and you don't get a response in a few hours, you could message the owner (admin with the green crown) and ask politely if they are accepting sellers. If no response in a day, assume the group is inactive and just leave.
Option 2
Another way to find groups is to check social media (Twitter, Instagram, tumblr, reddit, etc) and search the tags for #kik #sellinggroups #nudeselling etc and see if you can find a group owner advertising openings in their groups. I've never searched this way, so I don't know how helpful this may be but I post my groups to Twitter so you may find a group using this method.
Option 3
This would work best if you already have a following on Twitter, tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat etc. You could advertise that you are looking to start selling on Kik and ask any group owners with openings to message you. I haven't used this method either but being pro-active and using this in conjunction with the other methods and you should have a few groups with in a day or two!
I suggest starting with 3-5 groups at first. Until you have the individual buyer verification process and your wording down, being in more than 5 is probably going to be overwhelming unless you are SUPER familiar wth Kik. There are lots of terms and acronyms for Kik and specifically for selling groups (Part 5) so learning those will also be helpful.
Part 2: General etiquette
I feel like this is much more personal, and you may disagree with some of this, and everyone's personalities are different and sometimes can clash. But in general, when in the group chat, be polite and courteous to everyone that comes in the chat. Say hello, but don’t be afraid to ask for their age, ask if they are looking to buy, or ask them to verify with you or whatever the rules are for that group. If their profile pic is a woman, they may be a seller, a male parading as a lady (explained below), or even a buyer! I simply ask if they are a buyer or seller, and respond appropriately. If anyone responds that they are not a buyer, I just remove them. If they respond that they are any age under 18, I remove them, put why, AND block them from messaging me.
If there is a disagreement between sellers, that's when I generally advise either messaging them or contacting the owner of the group to discuss. Many type of disagreements come up, so I won't list all those possibilities here. But in general, keeping the least amount of drama, bad mouthing etc OUT of group chat is the best option. It's bad for business for you and for any seller in that group. I also try not to talk bad about other sellers in sellers only chats either. I have had a few run ins and public situations with buyers. It's unprofessional, I hate that it happened, but I try to keep my cool. Also, don't talk about someone else's looks. Just don't. It's catty and makes you look shallow and imo, unintelligent. This includes other sellers (be supportive!!) and dick pics. You will get them, but seriously there is no need to waste your time and energy by re-posting and then making fun of some dude's dick.
Part 3: How to interact with buyers
So, you found a few groups. Now what? Some groups have different specifications, but generally more than 4 "I'm selling" or graphic ads a day is consider spam. I post my graphic ad 2-3 times a day per group, and possibly 1 or 2 text ads of "I'm an active seller" if the group is active and lots of new verified buyers. I know of NO groups where messaging a buyer is accepted. DO NOT DO IT. If they are verified and they want to buy, they will message you. If you've exchanged words with a potential buyer in the group chat, saying "Well I have lots to offer, DM me if you're interested" is generally acceptable. Once in PMs, if you know they are verified, then you can start working on a deal. If not, ask them to verify and if they verify, then discuss.
Next is the topic of seller re-verification and previews. I am happy to send a verified potential buyer a Live pic of my face only, if asked, to show it matches my profile pic and any graphic ad I have. It's up to you to decide if you want to take the time. As a new seller, it is hard to tell who is worth sending a Live pic too, but you will pick up on it quickly enough. I highly recommend it, especially for new sellers who may not be able to rely on satisfied buyer reviews etc. Building rapport and trust is important and usually worth the few seconds. The second thing you will be asked for a lot is a preview. Knowing a little bit of what they are buying is completely fair to ask for. I send them my graphic ad that has different parts of my body, enough for them to get my size, skin color etc. Both of these legitimate things can quickly turn into the dreaded FREEBIES. Freebies are a no-no and hurts both you and other sellers. If they want a Live full-body pic, ask $2-5 to show they are legit. If they demand a nude or are otherwise clearly trying to get other freebies, they are not a buyer but a dreaded TIME WASTER. (See Part 4) Giving freebies makes them think they can get freebies from others therefore wasting other sellers time. And they now have free wank material and won't be buying from you or anyone else. They will say they will buy after. They won't. Ever.
So, they are legit and seem like a serious buyer. To get the ball rolling, I send my daily deal graphic and/or ask what they are looking to buy. They may reply with types of content (nudes, videos, Live chat/ cam2cam, Skype) or with a genre (looking for anal, squirting, femdom, feet, smoking). If you sell whatever they are looking for, the deal usually moves to pricing and payment methods pretty easily. If you don't offer cam2cam, skype, panties etc then you say, sorry, I don't offer <whatever> but my DMs are always open if you're ever in the market for anything else off my menu! If they don't buy but generally seem legit, I delete the chat. I only keep chats from people who have bought from me personally. If they are a TW, I block so they cannot bother me at a later time.
Often they may not have anything specific in mind, so this is where you can get into the hard sell a bit. Upsell, tell them you specialize in <whatever>. What nude set are you super proud of, what video did you really rock it in, anything that has sold well on other platforms. Now is the time to impress them. And they love to feel like you can wheel and deal, and you know your strengths and how to capitalize on that. Be flirty, offer a package bundle deal, offer custom, whatever you think can seal it.
So you gave agreed on a deal. There are many (probably 15+) common payment methods, all with their pros and cons. I accept Google Wallet, Square, Circle, Paypal, US Amazon gift cards, and bitcoin. All these (and many more) have been discussed in many other blogs so it's up to you to research and decide what you will accept. I do suggest having at least 2 payment options available, and possibly signing up for more to be able to accept more sales as you go. Once they send payment, make sure you confirm you have received it! This means receiving an e-mail from that company saying you have money, and if you have the app, double-checking there as well. They may send fake screenshots or other bullshit (Part 4) to get freebies.
Once you have confirmed a payment, then it's time to send! [Sometimes Paypal may take 10-20 minutes. bitcoin takes usually 30. GW and Square take less than 5]. I send nudes through the app, and my pre-recorded videos I have uploaded to Google Drive so I can easily send the link where they can download it. You've done it, you sold some content! Yeay! :D Make sure to thank them, tell them you're DMs are always open to regulars, and to follow you on whatever social media you use to sell.
Part 4: How to deal with time wasters, scammers and other douche bagels
Sadly, 90% of the 'buyers" you will interact with will be time wasters (or TW). I use the umbrella term TW to include: Minors, those who won't verify, only wanting freebies, wanting to trade nudes (often guys with a woman as their profile pic sending you stolen nudes of other women), unable or unwilling to pay, dick pic senders, scammers (those that say they have sent payment but actually haven't), low-ballers (offering what is clearly an unacceptable amount for a product), hecklers ("Why would I pay for this when I can get it for free?!"), and name-callers (Why would anyone buy from you, you're fat/ugly/ have small tits/ etc etc). If they are clearly a time waster right off the bat, I MAY send a snappy comeback and block, but often times I just block and move on. The more time you spend with these turds, the less time you have to spend with serious buyers. :)
Part 5: Common terms and acronyms
Ad: A text or graphic advertisement showing you are an active and online seller. See also preview.
Admin: Anyone in a group with a crown on their picture in the member's list of a group. They can remove and ban non-admin buyers only.
Adult content: Any media or physical items of an adult nature. Includes nudes, xxx and fetish videos, Live pictures, Live video chat, Skype, phone sex, sexting/ roleplay, used or 'dirty' clothing such as panties or socks, femdom, and erotica.
Ban: To ban someone from a group chat where they cannot come back. Each room only has 100 'blocks', use sparingly.
Block: To prevent that person from messaging you. If they are in a group chat with you, you will see "Blocked message" when they write, but they can still see what you post in chat.
Cam2cam: Any platform where you and the buyer can see each other. On Kik, generally means Live video chat. It is the small video camera in the upper right corner of any chat.
DM: Direct message. This is a private chat between 2 people where no one else can see what is being discussed. See also PM.
Gallery picture: A picture taken using the phone's camera at a previous time. These generally cost less than Live pictures.
Group chat: A group on Kik like a chat room where all members can see what has been posted, and who has entered or left the group.
Group picture: The picture at the top of the group. Is often a sexy picture or the rules laid out in text for selling groups.
Kick: To remove someone from a group where they can rejoin or be invited back.
Live picture: A Live picture is taken using the in-app camera, the second button on the bottom. If a picture is Live, it will say 'Camera' under it. If it does NOT say that, it is a gallery picture and is not acceptable for verification. Live pictures generally cost more than gallery pictures.
Lurking: Watching what is being posted in the group without speaking. May be a potential buyer to watch for ads being posted and to see how a seller interacts with people. Can also be admin/ owner just making sure everything is kosher.
Member list: All the members of a group. Can be found by entering a group, then clicking the name of the group. Gold crowns mean admin, green crown means owner.
Menu: A price list of what you offer and the starting prices, many do not include a preview pic. Very basic visually but more encompassing then a preview ad. Rarely posted to group chat.
Offerings: Any type of adult content you personally have for sale.
Owner: Or head admin, has a green crown. They either created the group, or the original owner left the group to them. They are the only person who can remove admins, and change the group picture.
PFP: Profile picture, the round picture that is next to your posts. Make it super sexy so it catches the buyers eye!
PM: Private message, also called DM
Preview: A sexy but censored picture of you, usually has some text with info about offerings and may have basic pricing. Some groups do not allow ANY pricing info on your preview if it is going to be posted in the group chat. Ask the whoever verified you for rules on what is allowed in your public ad.
Regular: A repeat buyer or someone who has bought from multiple ladies. Treat these guys like kings!! You want these guys around!
TW: Time waster, or anyone who can't or won't buy.
UA: Under age, someone under 18 who it is illegal to sell or give porn to, a minor
Part 5: Other tips and tricks
Don't give freebies. Ever. It will not increase sales and often hinders the business of other sellers.
Keep your attitude and mouth in check as much as possible. It will happen. You will blow up at an idiot time waster. You will have a cat fight with another seller. With strong ladies and idiot men being all over, you will be stressed. And chances are at some point someone will get the worst of you. Try your best to make up with any seller in a group, or if you keep having words with the same seller, it may be best to leave the group.
Be patient. Even with this and any other reading, it may take a few weeks to get the hang of verifying, selling, and be noticed. Frequent buyers tend to have high standards and may be lurking to get your personality and see if you seem legitimate. If after 20 weeks you have little to no interest and no sales, it may be time to ask other sellers what they think about your pricing, ads, and communication.
If you are not comfortable with a deal, don't do it. If you aren't okay with showing your face, or any other body part, or accepting a certain payment method, DON'T. Trust your gut. If a guy seems off and you get that little red flag, something is probably off. This is a good example of what you can talk about in 'sellers only' chats, to ask if something seems legit.
It's okay to be somewhat flexible on pricing, especially 'in bulk'. I have a daily deal (usually themed like all squirting, feet, custom etc content at a discount price) and I am willing to make a serious buyer a bundle deal. Generally a bundle is 10-20% off what the items would cost separately, as long as they are spending $30 or more. [Exact pricing up to you, ofc] But also be firm on what the lowest is you will take. That may mean you have to walk way from a sale. And that sucks. Especially if you haven't sold that day, week, or ever. But you put time, effort and love into that content and into promo and dealing with non-buyers. You are worth it! If they say they can't pay that much, you can either try and haggle and make them a compromised deal. Or say I'm sorry, I can't accept an offer that low. But thank you for your interest. Unless they are SUPER rude about pricing, I have had a number of "I cant afford that rn" guys come back next paycheck and buy. If they wander into "Well I bought 10 nudes for this price from some other girl" territory, that's when it's bye-bye time.
The pricing info is all my personal opinion, and from my personal experience and from a few others who have shared their pricing with me. I feel like a realistic price for those starting out is Gallery nudes $2-3 each, Live nudes $3-4, Videos $1-3/ min, Fetish videos $4-5/min, custom videos $3-5/ minute, Live chat $3-4 min, Sexting $2/ min, Skype $4/ min. You will see many sellers selling at $5-6/ nude, $5-10/ min for Live, sexting, Skype and customs. Or even more. Set your prices high enough so you don't seem like a scammer or have crap quality, but also not so high that you don't get any messages. I also take into account ease/ if I like doing it. I love taking nudes, making pre-recorded videos, and LOOOOVE custom videos. I'm not so keen on cam2cam, sexting, and Live chat. So I set the things I love to do a tad lower, and the things I'm not in love with a tad higher. You can adjust your prices as you go on, or even by individual buyer.
I hope this guide has helped you get started. Feel free to leave any other tips from those who already sell, or leave me any questions and I can try and help you out :)
