My name's Robin, and this comic is about Ben Solo's childhood phase of wearing a bucket with a Vader mask drawn on it. And that's about it. We'll try to update on Tuesdays, how does that sound.

Don’t mind me, just had to pop back in for a sec to reblog this friggin’ amazing art of Benny. I can’t believe how well @scooterpengie captured details like his posing, the tape on his “lightsaber” and the shiny texture of his too-big boots.

I have literally never drawn Benny without the bucket, so I’m declaring this image of him canon. It’s official.

In December 2015, I was teaching English in Japan and had gone to see The Force Awakens in theatres there. I spent the winter break that year with a friend in the Tokyo area, and as I was waiting on the platform to catch my bullet train back, the idea for this comic series just kind of came to me.

I brainstormed comic ideas the entire 2-hour ride back, and when I returned to work (with the students not due back for another few days), I sat at my desk furiously sketching out drafts. And then, after about 25-30 of them, the ideas...just stopped. That was it, I was done. This one came together somewhere in there, and it felt like a natural conclusion. So I that’s what I made it.

Over the next year and a half, I slowly started eking out the finished comics whenever I could find a sliver of time/energy. By the time I came back to Canada in 2017, I had about 9 of them ready to go. Then last November, after drawing a couple more, I thought - well if not now, then when? And just started posting them, hoping they would find their audience somewhere in the Tumblr-verse. 

And they found you! I don’t know exactly what project I’m going to take on next, whether it’ll be a comic or something else. But if you want to continue following me, I might revive my long-dormant primary blog @iamjustarobin. And if you want to support this comic, please keep sharing it and helping it find new audiences!

And even if you don’t do either of those things, I’m super grateful you came along for this silly, weird little ride. Thanks a bunch. -Robin

What’s this? It’s the second-to-last “Benny” comic! (All your positive feedback has been amazing, but “Benny” was always meant to be a limited run thing - sorry!) The final installment is coming next week, so uh...watch out for that, I guess?

And thus ends our visit from Uncle Luke...But I just wanted to say that I’m downright chuffed at how much you’ve all been enjoying these Uncle Luke comics, because I had a lot of fun making them as well!

I have to say, this is one of my personal favourites so far. So much so that I was only slightly mad when I noticed I’ve been drawing Luke’s costume off-model for the past two comics (we’re just going to say he changed shirts somewhere in there).
