This isn't food we actually made, but I really wanted a donut the other day so we went out to a fancy donut place in Boulder, Dizzy's Donuts, and got a chocolate and a bacon-maple.

Clam Chowder
Shawn and I did an amazing wine and cheese night. We had prosciutto, salami, grapes, feta, Bonne Buche, Cowgirl creamery cheese, high quality honey, homemade fig jam, and homemade wine. The homemade components were all made by Dad.
I've been working on my banana bread, and it's starting to get pretty good.
Here is some pure comfort food for you: chicken noodle soup with homemade egg noodles. Salad with homemade butter garlic parm croutons.
Here's some baked brie Shawn made for snack time. Snack time is probably the third or fourth best meal of the day.
Here's some pork and potatoes and sauerkraut that the boyfriend made me back before I started this blog. I believe it was New Year's Day food as there are lucky black eyed peas on the plate.
I love seaweed snacks, but hate how expensive they are compared to other snacks. Shawn decided that they wouldn't be that hard to make and made me some really tasty ones. They were super easy and we already had all the ingredients (although maybe that's not typical for everyone). We just took sheets of nori from our sushi making stash, brushed them with sesame oil and sprinkled them with sea salt. Then we baked them and topped them with sesame seeds. So delicious the whole batch was gone within half an hour. Next we're considering making wasabi or chili flavored ones.
Here's a dish that Shawn dubbed "hooked up rice." It's basically fried rice with lots of goodies such as bacon and peas.
Puppy Cookies
I made Newton some peanut butter pumpkin cookies. He loves them. I still need to work on the puppy recipe, but Newton doesn't mind being the tester.
We've been working on brewing some ginger beer. It's a super easy fermentation with a recipe that I came across online.
This is one of my favorite meals. It's a vietnamese crushed rice dish with barbeque and shredded of pork and a fried egg on top. It's amazingly delicious.
Some tasty Texas food! Fresh food in the summer is so delicious, and I was recently in Texas and got to enjoy some delicious vegetables. We recently learned that there's a name for the cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions we've eaten all my life, slang jang. We also had some fresh cream peas.
Dad also made a Mexican casserole while I was home. He doesn't usually cook with cream of mushroom soup and such, but for this comfort food, it's kind of a necessity.
If you haven't noticed by now, we think breakfast foods are good for any meal. Bacon and eggs on toast, yum!
I threw a wedding shower for my BFF since fourth grade. As a baker, I had to do the pinterest wedding dress cupcakes. We also had quiche, fruit salad, and cheese. The drink is a simple cocktail of sparkling wine and pomegranate juice, but it's fun for showers because pomegranate is supposed to symbolize prosperity and fertility.
