adelaide had been in town to pick up groceries. he didn’t often shop around, as his farm provided most of what he needed. hygiene products were what had brought him into town on this occasion. that, and people watching. humans were such an abstract concept to him, all bustling through their lives and never really concerning themselves with the infinite other existences occurring simultaneously around them. so self-centered. so self-absorbed. he’s rounding a corner when he’s barged into, the grocery bag slipping from his fingers.
for a moment, he feels angry. he’s borderline enraged, and part of him wants to lash out, but he knows better than to do so. it is especially different when he sees who has run into him. she’s a petite asian woman. predatory light flickers behind emotionless eyes, and he offered a cold smile and a hand. “it’s fine, really,” the thick french accent on his voice aiding him in laying the charm on thick. “are you alright? you took quite a fall there.”
There is a moment where Chuya is scared that the man will yell at her - she’s never done well with yelling, especially men, and in this culture, it’s almost expected that small inconveniences will result in outlandish arguments. After all, she’s seen workers screamed at for getting an order wrong - what happens when you run full force into someone and almost knock them down? The worry causes her to chew her lip. It quickly slips away though at both his accent and response. Worry turns into relief, turns into a sheepish smile as she takes his hand, standing. “I’m fine,” It’s a lie, her knee is killing her, and a quick glance down shows blood, “...Maybe.. Not so fine.” But she laughs anyways, waves it off. “What about you? Are you alright? I ran into you without looking...” Chuya’s eyes look him up and down, both for any signs of injury and because he’s quite handsome. It’s rare that she finds herself checking out another person, and her eyes quickly dart away upon realizing it.
