Hi everyone!

I’m currently in the process of making an essay style video (a first for me) on Aperture Desk Job game, and I’m in need of a few perspectives on theories.

What to keep in mind: Aperture Desk Job is not cannon to Portal timeline, and it’s just a silly video idea I had for a while, and wanted to get out some thought I gathered after looking through the maps in source 2 viewer, and finding some interesting details, which I will go over in the video.

My first questions are:

Why is Caroline not mentioned in anyway in the game, expect in the painting in Cave’s office?

Where is she?

Have she died to Cave when he was activated as the AI head?

If anyone wants to talk about it, it would help me very much in narrowing down my thoughts and theory.

hyperspecific headcanon ive always had about this particular little alcove right next to the entry corridor to GLaDOS' chamber is that this is a place Caroline frequented. Like, a lot. Like, "second most common place you'd find her apart from her office" type of a lot. Just kinda sitting there. Watching the chamber of the machine Cave only dreamt of grow in size day by day. Watching it sprout more and more roots as they hook GLaDOS up to every little thing they can think of. Only walking right inside whenever she has to, but waiting at the lair's front door every single day. Maybe daydreaming of it all suddenly and irreperably collapsing, the whole project just another classic Aperture dud, finally ridding her of all of this. Maybe just thinking of the day a part of her will enter that room and never come back out. Was she afraid? Resigned? In some way excited? Awed, or terrified? Neither? Who knows, really.

Been feeling down lately, and yumeships bring me joy, so I tried it with me and Caroline.
