It is a part of a wooden statue of Mother Mary that survived the atomic bombing of Nagasaki in 1945. It was found in the ruins of Urakami Cathedral.

I love meeting religious trans people tbh. Don't care what background. I love the relief and joy that they express when we talk about our journeys. I think we should all be allowed to go through life and heal from our pasts in the ways that make us feel whole.
It's also really cool hearing about how they interpret things in new ways / things that they connect with differently nowadays, and share concepts between our differing backgrounds that overlap with our identities.
